I thought ep 3 sucked. I was getting pretty bored by the whole "Oh no we're getting hacked!" bit in the first half, cos I don't think they sufficiently explained the consequences if they failed to repel the hackers, so I couldn't feel the tension. I didn't like how them were able to identify the hacker's location just by saying "He must be somewhere close!".
At the end of ep 2 we're told they're going to search for Fumi, so when they arrive at Osaka they meet Hinako and Keita. And then they showAnd then when they discovered FumiKeita's death clip, but the audience would have only seen him in that one scene in the train station, which I feel is not enough time to develop an attachment to him so that the death clip would give you that sense of 'OH SHIT'. I'm surprised they killed him off, cos I was expecting they'd immediately go for the best ending, although I must admit I won't miss him.I think that sort of revelation is just too convenient.being behind the hacking, and Makoto was immediately able to figure out that she was being brainwashed,
About the hacking, IIRC wasn't it that
if the barriers are down, Septentrion can get to the towers easier? And by doing that they can continue erasing the world.
About Keita, I don't think
you were supposed to get too attached to him per say. This isn't the first death clip and I think everyone expected him to be saved. The fake out was the real OH SHIT moment. I don't think you even need a connection to the character. I never cared for Keita at all, but I just wasn't expecting him to get killed off so early like that.
About the brainwashing...well, under normal circumstances Fumi wouldn't hack JP's and help the demons. Since there are demons involved, I don't think brainwashing was that big of a jump in logic.
