Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

I'm enjoying Thomas was alone too. Got it free with PS+. It starts of rather slowly but from chapter 3 or 4 onwards, it becomes fun, if a tad easy (i'm at chapter 7). Contrary to most (reviews), i don't feel that the story is that special though. It's nicely done and voiced, but i doesn't stand out for me. Other than that, the visuals are quite nice with good looking minimal design and colors. But above all, it's relaxing and fun puzzling/platforming.

Agreed. As you say, it was relaxing and fun and didn't think that much of the narrative. I mean, I liked it but I liked the "game" part better.

Also just finished Thomas Was Alone. REALLY fantastic game. Really simple but brilliant atmosphere and fantastic writing. Absolutely not one to be missed. Thoroughly recommend it to all in search of a good game for a small price.

Also, the music is absolutely brilliant.

Definitely going to play through it again for trophies and developer commentary

fuckin' import senran kagura or project diva f or kaizoku musou 2 yo

That ^ some cool import choices! *_*

Just got the Sony PULSE wireless headset yesterday. Cannot wait to try it with the Vita soon. If my PS3 / phone are anything to judge this by, I think WipeOut 2048 will be eargasmic.
I suppose the wireless part is only availabe for pc and ps3, or am i wrong?

And some impressions on the vita experience with the pulse would be nice.

I'm saving for some phones so some impressions about some could headphones would be cool.

Am I missing something or is there no good way to keep downloads going once your Vita goes to sleep now? They pause when I hit the power button to turn off the screen, and they pause when I let the screen go to sleep by itself. There seems to be no option to make it keep downloading?

Guys, I love Shuhei and all, but this is getting out of hand...

Your most anticipated game for the Vita is out in less than a week and you still don't have this sorted?

This is intentional. They want people to pre-order the physical copies so they only announce the digital bonuses at the last minute.

Edit: on the Playstation Blog they've all but confirmed it in the comments section for the people paying attention. The sad reality is that they need you to pre-order the game at a retailer or else they won't get any orders from retailers to even stock it in the first place.

But I want to use the money Sony gave me so bad! Just might have to get a third PS4 game then...

Hahaha... get them, then sell them, then buy Vita games. ;)

Shu wouldn't have a clue. He's just in charge of having the games made, it's up to each individual region what they do with regards to preorders, i imagine.

But SCEA should have sorted it ages ago.,

SCEA is incompetent?! Holy shit, since when?!

Yeah, it really seems to be a SCEA problem. Why don't we have a pre-order option when some people with SCEE accounts have already been able to preload it?

I hope the PS4 offers a pre-order option. I figure with the large HDD, it'd be easier to buy most games digitally. Would only have to bring the console and a few controllers to a friend's house, no more lugging five different games.

Thanks for the heads up on preloading, just started the download. Somehow the dlc costumes are locked like PS3 content but for the voice pack there is a autoload setting. Is the autoloading a new feature?

Finished the first chapter of Thomas Was Alone. Like the presentation, hope the puzzles will get more interesting.

Greetings PlayStation Blog. Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is an episodic adventure brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles. We’re delighted to show you some screens from the game, and give you some insight into the world of Jacob Jones.

So firstly, the polite thing to do would be to introduce you to our hero, although he’s a slightly younger hero than you may be used to. Without further ado, meet Jacob Jones, the latest arrival at Camp Eagle Feather, the newest and best Summer Camp.

Now Jacob isn’t one to mix with other kids – he prefers the great outdoors and the company of his parents, so spending his summer with a load of weird kids at Summer Camp isn’t exactly his idea of fun. However, when he stumbles upon the mysterious Bigfoot, his summer takes on a whole new twist.

Developed using the powerful Unreal Engine 3, it has a charming visual style and a artistically unique world which is inhabited by vinyl toy characters. Coupled with this we have all of the technical bells and whistles you would expect to find on a cutting edge PlayStation Vita title.

Since the PS Vita system was announced we firmly believed that developing a casual and accessible title, whilst using the latest technology, would allow us to create beautifully imagined worlds that sit perfectly on the PS Vita system’s gorgeous screen.

By working with some of the world’s best puzzle creators, as well as the BAFTA nominated writer George Poles, we feel that we have surrounded the talented team at Lucid with true experts in their field, and created a truly beautiful and unique world for you to explore.

Look out for more from Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery in the coming weeks as we delve deeper into the background of the main characters, reveal a little about what’s going on at Camp Eagle Feather, and also reveal how some of the fiendish puzzles were constructed. Stay tuned!

.

Hilarious that he only "expects" that preorder details will be revealed before release day
There is no preorder for psn. He is saying to stay tuned about the preorder bonuses available for retail being made available to psn buyers. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that it will be available for all week 1 buyers.

i know what he's saying! But nonetheless, they're still "preorder bonuses" and he only "expects" them to be detailed before release.

SCEE people can download the full game right now and have it activate on release day. The only thing they'd have to download are the pre-order bonus DLCs on release.

It's good living in a SCE region that is only slightly incompetent rather than completely incompetent.

Did Sonic All-Stars Transformed ever receive the patch the PS3 version got? Mine is still on version 1.01 and won't find a patch to download.

May someone else with the game confirm they are on 1.01 and unable to find an update? Thanks.

Preferred getting digital for Soul Sacrifice, but with no confirmation about the preorder DLC inclusion I decided to just go physical.

Do what you want, but the new PSN features in the PS4 look VERY promising.

To you maybe. ;)

I really don't know how these companies don't steal every good idea the competitor had that is public domain between console revisions.
I mean... it took Sony over 6 years to make a web store. Nintendo still doesn't understand that purchases should be tied to accounts... it's infuriating.

If they really do deliver with the streaming tech and the Vita remote play, great.

New news, new thread for Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery? So another Sony published game using Unreal Engine 3 (Smart As also did), interested how it will turn out technically. Mortal Kombat had to hit 60 fps which even on consoles isn't easy and I don't think something like Doctor Who should be a benchmark on how well the Unreal Engine 3 does on Vita.

edit: wait, this game isn't Vita exclusive?
