Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

I bought CoD yesterday and I'm worried I'll share his fate. Everything just seems so pointless now.
Ouch. Maybe a certain sacrifice could save your soul?

Edit: DAMNIK! My line sounds better though :p

I've gotta say, uploading screenshots to my PC via Wifi has to be my favorite Vita feature. Not only does it make grabbing screenshots for reviews easier, but it's so simply. Just take the screenshot, copy and you're done. I really hope it's as effortless on the PS4.

how do you do that..?`content manager or what do you use..?

To take the screenshot, simultaneously press the PS Button and Start (I usually press the PS button first then follow with start).

To enable wifi transferring, go to the content manager then PC then select Wifi. Your PC should appear in the list or something to that effect, it's been a while since I've done it. You might have to add it. Make sure your Content Manager App on the PC is up to date or it won't work.

You can transfer videos, music, pictures, and even games to and from the Vita via Wifi.

ohh I thought you meant an easier way.. I have always use Twitter to upload my Screenshots. Fast and easy. Alot faster than Content manager IMO.

After you set it up like jwk said," Copy" in the photos app. Super easy.

ohh that sounds easy..

So is the gameplay of Soul Sacrifice pretty much just fight a few enemies, mod your person, then fight a few bigger enemies? I'm not sure if I should cancel my order while it's packaging or not. The combat got pretty old for me.

SCEE is basically paying people to buy the game. RIP

SCEA does nothing to try to sell the game and it's bad news

Sony can never win you over.

Also, the FIFA13 promotion is a mistake for sure (from Amazon or the guy who said it was Fifa13) because it clearly says Fifa Football, not Fifa13. And they couldn't possibly give away Fifa13 and 90 days of plus for less than £12.

SCEE is basically paying people to buy the game. RIP

With the amount of DLC it will have they can give it away for 10 poounds and still make money ;)

Also i was going to cut the spendings on Vita software.

Now i have SS preordered in local shop , so i had to order Sly for this promotion and since Sly is below 25 pounds i had to order Hori Grip for Vita to get free delivery.

My credit card will cry :(

Buy a hunting action-RPG, get FIFA for free. Haha, that's so weird.

Maybe they'll add a Soul Sacrifice player in the next FIFA game

If you played through the demo and unlocked the gameplay mechanics that you get after finishing the tutorials, and you STILL didnt like it, you might want to hold off on buying it.

How much of the demo is tutorial? I got to the point where multiplayer is unlocked, and fiddled around with the offerings a bit but that's it.

Does the whole game follow that same formula? Like we had Sortiara guiding us through the bosses at first, then after that we faced them again without her. Is that generally the whole game?

Basically that whole section was tutorial. Although it pretty much plays out the same after that.

The moment you unlocked MP, the tutorial ended. You wont get much out of the game if you just rushed through finishing the levels. The enjoyment comes from getting the best possibles skills and levelling up the skill (by combining 2 of the same kind), for which you need a good grasp of the combat and combo mechanics. You get rare spells for basically A/S-ranking the levels, so replaying them is a rather rewarding affair. If you have more than 1 spell of the same kind, you can upgrade them so you have more casts, additionally to levelling up the allies you can recruit after the tutorial. I'd say you give the demo another chance by trying to S-rank the first 2 missions after the tutorial (and probably ask in the SS thread on how to get better scores) If the combat/combo mechanics arent satisfying to you, then there might not be much reason to buy it.

But it really is a terrific game once you get into the groove of improving your spells/character.

The game is based around these "arena fights" and the enjoyment definitely comes from finding and improving your spells/character loadout. It sort of has a Pokemon collect them all effect in that regard. And since it takes quite a bit of skill to get everything, mastering the techniques and combat makes this game really satisfying, especially since these bosses all seem to play rather differently. I have enough variation in the game if I need to apply different strategies in the fights, but that might not be the case for everyone I guess.

Oh, thank Avo!!
Looks like I will be getting my physical copy of Soul Sacrifice on 1st MAY!!!! Retailer changed changed the previous date (27th May). I'm so happy right now!

I finally tried Zero Escape: Virtue's last reward since i got it with PS+. I always had an interest in this game since i love adventure/puzzle games but always kind of hesitated to buy this and then sort of forgot about it.

But what a surprise this has turned out to be. I guess i was not expecting this... at all. What a fascinating, captivating, original and interesting game this has turned out to be. It got me hooked right from the start and i can't wait to continue playing.

Hmm, yeah. I didn't care much for managing my spells and if that's the core of the game then I guess it isn't for me. Thanks guys.

somehow... they should have a better ranking system (in terms of the names)..
rather than just Divine Sorcerer.. I would rather they write SS (in blood/the title font) at the top right hand corner

Just ordered Soul Sacrifice on the Vita with Amazon and they are offering a free FIFA download code as well. Had a check on Hotdeals and seems someone already posted the deal and it's mentioned that it's FIFA 13 not the first FIFA.

Bargain for £30 or even if you order the 90 day plus voucher for £11.67

Amazing, just picked up the ps plus subscription again. Sure it's fifa 13 right? :P

They send it in an email? ... Have to wait till it's dispatched first? I think so.

It's Fifa 12 not 2013. According to the deal, which was posted about a day ago [limited supply]. It may have been updated since you checked or something.

I agree.

You think there will ever be an ad-hoc party Natively on Vita? It would be nice to play MH without needing the PS3.

No, it seems Sony's done with PSP on Vita. They haven't tweaked the emulator, or added more of the PS3-transfer catalog to the Vita store in a while.

I'm pretty sure the boss DLC is free.

Haha, this is true. It just seems a bit desperate, but I suppose that's better than doing nothing at all.

Awesome. I'd throw them more money. I love those guys.

Why are so many people suddenly trying to buy Vita capture kits? O.o

Good question.

So that they can make proper gameplay videos instead of using an over the shoulder camera? People who just want to play games need not apply. It is for people who wants to make video content using the Vita.

Yeah, but considering the Vita is pretty much a dead-console walking (Toto™), why bother now?

The thing is Vita's fighting game market is pretty saturated. Toss in Soul Calibur, Tekken, KOF, etc. and you'll have every major brand represented.

Different strokes and all.

I'd buy a native Vita port for Tekken and Soul Calibur, but won't go near DoA+. If you like fighters, you can like more than just one. My stack of PS3 games over there has the following in it: SFxT, UMvC3, Blazblue CS2E, MK9, SC5, TTT2 and then you have whatever I've sold because I've gotten it free from PS+ (SSF4AE, KoF13) digitally in addition to a ton of other digital fighters I've bought because they're good (Darkstalkers Resurrection, MvCO, SF33SOE, Skullgirls, etc.)

Broadening the market is not a bad thing. The crowd that loves Skullgirls is crazy enough to fund 5 DLC characters (over $800k) cause they want to support the game -- I betcha a bunch of them would be crazy enough (myself included) to want Skullgirls with them on the go... especially since it uses GGPO as the backend for the netcode and I think nothing else on Vita does yet (SFxT uses netcode based on GGPO, MK9 and Blazblue have solid netcode, but nothing on there that uses straight up GGPO). Hell, if Capcom wasn't a Vita hater and ported the Iron Galaxy ports for Darkstalkers/3S/MvCO, I would rebuy them, especially if they had cross-save functionality.

If you've played through the demo, it's the entire first chapter/tutorial and some of the online pacts as well, so you should have a pretty good idea of what you think of the game. It's not going to pull a Brutal Legend and turn into something entirely different than the demo once you start playing past the content they offered in the demo.

Is Atelier Totori only available digitally? I only have a 4gb memory card, which sucks I know, but I cant afford to get a 32gb just now and buying a smaller one would just mitigate the problem.
Also, is it worth getting? I've never played any Atelier games.

Yes, it's only available digitally. At around 3GB, it's also one of the biggest games in terms of file size.

Totori Plus was my first Atelier game too. I was unsure about the game initially due to its focus on crafting, but I like what I see so far from about an hour of gameplay. I'd play more, but Soul Sacrifice has been taking up most of my gaming time.

Also you missed the early-buyer bikini DLC on Totori+, so you may as well just wait for a sale at this point. PS3 copy is cheaper and physical, also.

Which is totally fine. The system is pretty much built for fighters and therefore is an okay "training" ground. Too bad SC is a PSP port, Juggle is a PSP port, King of Clooneys isn't even ported to the first PSP...

I'd rather have a port of Third Strike, but without GGPO/online.
