Mass Effect was never a "timed exclusive" (other than PC) at the time though. Bioshock was a third party game. If by signing it means Microsoft publishing the games, than it would take the company being bought by a third party publisher and a contract expiring for it to appear on other platforms. ME was in the same boat as Gears and Alan Wake before Bioware was bought by EA.



Them being behind in production I can believe. With the announcement being pushed back from the rumored April reveal. It adds up.

They're rumored to be working on Ryse alongside Crytek, but nothing's really known regarding the developer outside of that.

And about Sony: they seem cushiony with indie devs, but MS has the biggest one: Minecraft.

I can't imagine that Sony wouldn't secure MC, especially for VITA.

Sucker Punch
Naughty Dog
Quantic Dream
Guerilla Games

Mind you, they also destroyed guys like Zipper.

Honestly, this isn't all that surprising. I was hopeful that Microsoft's new internal teams could produce great product out of thin air but deep down I knew that was unrealistic.

Look at who's behind Sony's launch games: Guerrilla Games, Sucker Punch, Evolution. These are studios that Sony has nurtured for years and generations. Who does Microsoft have with that sort of track record? I love the idea of MS starting up new studios like Black Tusk, and Rare returning to "core" game development, but as we know game development is extremely difficult and fraught with peril, and expecting new teams to hit it out of the park from the get-go is asking a bit much.

I hope Remedy has something to show soon, Turn 10 will undoubtedly bring the racing, and I haven't given up on Rare, but I'm struggling to see where the launch lineup will come from outside of third parties.

The 360 was a lucky bet from microsoft. They played current-gen well but their luck will run out very soon and I for am nothing but happy for this. The sooner money grabbing shit-bag companies like MS start deteriorating the better. Maybe they can take some ques from sony about how to handle VIDEO GAMES instead of trying to turn VIDEO GAME consoles into "entertainment boxes"

Nothing wrong with putting entertaining content into the consoles, but don't try to piss on us and start calling it rain. I am so fucking sick and tired of microsofts antics. Like for christ's sake there are NOTHING but advertisements on the 360 dashboard AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR LIVE. It's time that we start teaching them a lesson with our wallets, because once that happens they will have to depend on us for sales instead of depending on them for video games.

It really doesn't matter when they make the announcement. Publicly denying the rumors now nets the same conclusion as announcing their console on their own terms. Under both scenarios, rumors will be replaced by fact. It's not like consumers are going to refuse to purchase Microsoft's console due to fictitious rumors.

These guys only went in full gear late. Hell they were quick to shut down studios, but Black Tusk studios started full development of their "next big thing" when? Late last year? lol
