Did Microsoft stopped the production of Xbox Series consoles?

I know this is going to sound like that infamous Square Enix copy pasta but a lot of that could come down to the differences in the way that Japanese and American/Western companies communicate/operate in general.

For example if Sony was in Microsoft's position and was killing the brand secretly I don't think it would end well.
 
The last time we had so many rumors and influencers reporting the same thing, only 4 games were released to other platforms, so anything's possible.

They killed the brand with their idea of "Oh... lets make Windows the platform of choice" and their brilliant "OH, there is this Netflix thing... why dont we have that, but for games! It will pair really well with our idea of having all our games on PC"

You know... once you understand that Microsoft main business is not only the sales of Windows but also Office, and that Xbox and gaming is not that important compared to those 2 elements for them, you realize that they didnt care or understood Xbox and why the OG and the 360 where such great ideas.

They dont get gaming, and they dont care. After Xbox is just an app on Windows and maybe some 3rd party portable consoles/prebuilt-PC, they will claim this was a success and that this is even better than the 360.
 
Was it last year( or maybe 2 years ago, time has no meaning nowadays) when Bestbuy formally announced they were no longer selling physical movies in-store? I'm expecting a similar announcement for Xbox consoles before years end. Their hardware will be online only, and the Xbox section will be code cards and controllers. mayyyybe a side shelf with the newest COD/Assassins Creed/insert AAA title.

Right now there's little distinction between stopping production of the Series S/X and sales being so abysmally low they might as well have. The only interesting question is if there's still going to be a MS manufactured Nextbox which at this point would be nuts to even bother when the golden path seems to be third party publishing as you transition the console holdouts to a hybrid PC made by someone else and letting GamePass burn out since now you're getting all those sales on other platforms.
 
With current inventory levels, how many do they really need to manufacture at this point after this latest price increase? I mean like, what's the logic, they weren't selling well at $499 so why not charge $650? Ffs
 
I think they are gonna see how the holidays go and in late January or February we will see some news about their future or lack of a future.
 
If I wasn't a broke boy most of the time, I would've absolutely grabbed a series X before they made this decision.

A collectors item for sure now that can play OG NG2.

He then goes on to cite Sneaker's post at length. But Sneakers said no such thing. So both of the "quotes" he uses are unsourced. Bad enough, but he also implies that Sneakers is the source, which he isn't.

Might be a time to get a deal? Costco had them for what, $279 or something? If they do shut down production - and I have no idea if they have - maybe there will be more clearance sales?

Sounds sus, back in 2019-20 M$ pulled off One X production but still keep One S production until late 2021
There's still some demand for old gen after next gen arrives,and there still one year window before Magnus really launch in rumored Q4 2026
