Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Guys

Do we have a list for PSN? I'm thinking for Soul Sacrifice. Just wondering as I would be interested in playing online with fellow GAF members. I'm in the UK so best brit-gaf and euro-gaf.

my psn is replicant-uk

Out of curiosity, how far did you play? I was in exactly the same position as you initially, but as I started to understand the mechanics of the game more and as the fights got more demanding it just clicked.
I'm literally re-downloading the demo for the fourth time in attempt to have that same kind of epiphany before I regret missing out on any of the pre-order bonuses, lol. :(

Yep, and I added the regions to the PSN ID list. Feel free to drop by anytime! Be warned though - once you play with GAFfers, you may never want to play with randoms ever again.

For me it clicked when I played online. It become such a different game, even the flow of the battles change. There is no lag, depending of your level distribution the roles of the players change. I love long range attacks, I've teamed with players that use only short range attacks, others focus on summoning and transforming, and there are a lot of healers playing. Oh and I've to repeat that I've experienced no lag so far. I'll probably will just use the single player to grind for items and levels and I'll be playing online most of the time.

It really isn't a game for everyone IMO. I love it, but I can definitely see why others might not. I know people hate when it gets compared to Monster Hunter, but it's like a much more streamlined MH with perfect online play and arguably more fun mechanics. MH is maybe a technically deeper game, but if you get hooked to this one, you get hooked.

Yeah I tried it twice and both times I thought it was a p.o.s. To each their own. Can't think of a single thing about it that I wouldn't describe negatively from the art to the music to the controls to the combat to the story to the menu system to the ui. If I was reviewing this game Gaf would want my head on a spike by the time I was done.

C'mon now. Okay, now I want you to review it.

I can understand not liking the gameplay or the art, but you didn't like anything about it? You make Soul Sacrifice seem like a piece of shovelware with no redeeming qualities.

That's the thing, I see so many people excited about it but that is EXACTLY how I feel about it. That said I'm glad other people seem to be excited for it/enjoyed the demo etc.

Did you just not like the art or did you think the art was bad? Did you not like the music or did you actually feel the music was bad? Same with the UI, gameplay, etc.

For you is Vita shovelware. For me is far superior than Monster Hunter(I played the Demo more than any MH game I've played) and it can become the 2nd best vita game so far behind Persona 4 Golden. You know, opinions. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Genuinely thought all of that was awful.

Eh, if you say so. Just out of curiosity, what Vita games do you like?

P4G but I already considered P4 my favorite game of all time.
Guacamelee
MLB The show
Mortal Kombat
Wipeout

To a lesser extent
Sound shapes
MBA
Uncharted (minigames and shooting were still blech)
Katamari vita (too little content)

To an even lesser extent but I still had fun
Need for Speed
AC Liberation

After weeks of people asking, they finally let people know, two hours before release day.

I'll be sad if I can't get it at midnight tonight..... I just know tomorrow will crawl by until the store updates but at least now I feel good knowing these items will be available.

I just bought that History Legends of War game. Really, really hope I don't regret this, since it wasn't exactly cheap. >__>

Was difficult to find a retailer who actually had it in stock. Shipping from UK to Australia, it'll be like three weeks until I get it though. I'll do a write-up on it. Seems like this might go on to become one of the strangest, rarest Vita retail releases out there.

They've been hinting pretty heavily that this would be the case. They simply need people to pre-order Vita games at retail if they want the Vita to continue to have games at retail.

Opinions and all that but objectively I can't see how you could think the controls were bad or that the production values were anywhere near shovelware level. The game's controls are extremely tight and responsive and the presentation is very slick (and when I say presentation I'm including the UI, the soundtrack ((which I think is fantastic!)), the power and spell progression).

I can understand not being a fan of the art because it's dark and somewhat gross. And I can even understand not liking the type of game because it's so combat focused with very little exploration. But for the type of game that it is, it appears to be very well executed. Certainly nowhere near shovelware. But hey, we like what we like, right?

Has anyone posted impressions of this game yet? lol

God damned Dragon Fantasy. This game is pissing me off so badly. I'm at the end of chapter one. All the best gear, level 26 and I still keep dying the same boss because he attacks first and my attacks MISS SO OFTEN!

The original NES Dragon Quest game are some my all time favorites, but I don't remember them being this frustrating.

Yo SS players, I've been curious, is there a downside for leveling up your light side if you're mostly gonna focus on a dark arm? I was messing around in the demo and leveled stuff up willy nilly, so I don't know if I should move this save forward to the full game or start a new one when it comes out.

The end of chapter one is the worst part of the game, thankfully everything else is nothing like it. Which boss are you fighting?

I still feel like they don't advertise that on purpose, since they have deals with retailers. They'd essentially be competing with retailers if they went and told all the customers that the pre-order bonuses aren't exclusive and that people could just order the game straight from them instead.

You don't really need to start over either way, you can rewrite levels using lacrima.

You need to level up Life and Magic to 40/40 to unlock all of the Black Rites. Also, you gain the ability to level down once you hit the demo cap of 20 total levels.

Alright, thanks. I saw that the trophy list for the game has trophies for reaching level 99 on either side, which is when I started wondering if there was a limit to that.

I'm really loving this Vita - can't believe I never got one before.

I only have WipeOut 2048 (and Pulse) and Rayman Origins - but they are all great games for the ride to work.

I've got about 14 pounds on PSN - what is the best game/games for this money?
thanks

How to check my PSN region setting? I forgot which region I set during my sign-up on my 1st now-broken Vita.

So, if I want to download add-on stuff from PSN in my Vita, I need to be absolutely sure that the games I am purchasing is from the same region of my PSN account, correct?

Bloody hell this PSN-region-locking is bollocks :\

I don't know why so many people doubted SCEA in the first place when they've included pre-order DLCs with every digital Vita game at launch so far.

First-party titles, at the very least. It was pretty obvious we were getting it... someone add on what else, but PASBR, Gravity Rush, and Sly 4 digital all came with the pre-order bonuses when ordered digitally.

In a way, I kinda like Week 1 Digital DLC bonuses over pre-orders. Pre-orderers were still gonna get it on day 1, and it gives people on the sidelines time to still get the goodies after impressions have gone out. Still wish they let people know much earlier though. :/

I take the its better to be safe than sorry approach. Why do potential customers have to assume what they plan to sell? Do they prefer physical sales?

About that Hotline Miami co-op/multiplayer...
