Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Everybody who owns a copy of Rayman Origins - do the challenge IN THE OP in the next 7/12 hours and flood Grim so he feels better about stuff.

Then, whoever wins that can decide, and if nothing good is come up with, then we can quickly pick between Soul Sacrifice and Sonic All Stars.

Or alternatively - run the Rayman one again, and people do it this time. :P

I'd say make the challenge for Soul Sacrifice. Challenges would be more likely contributed towards if it was a game most were playing that month.

Literally nobody did the challenge for this month.
I didn't even realise there *was* a Rayman challenge :P I guess people only even read the OP on day one of a new thread and then never again, no-ones really mentioned the challenge again - I shall do it tonight!

Edit: another vote for incorporating Shahid somewhere in the OT title, if not, Legends of Vita: Shahid's Journey for June (the Lego game).

What the better grip for the vita? the pdp or cta?

I can't speak for either of those, but I use the Hori Grip (for some reason, it is unavailable on Amazon), and it works great. Feels like a slightly heavier PS3 controller. Also, it does not block the charging port, so you can play while you're plugged in. I use to get hand cramps before getting the grip, but I don't really get them anymore.

Honestly, I am one of the biggest fans of that game here, and I didn't even do it because I kept forgetting. I think as a thread, we could probably do a better job of mentioning it so that it doesn't get forgotten! It's a nice way to highlight a game and get people playing. I'll do it tonight!

I'm so sorry, but I don't have Rayman. ;_;

You should rectify that.

Just got it:

How come the 'Memory Required' boxes haven't adapted the new design of the bubbles on the back of Vita cases? It's still that ugly gray color.
And why must the 'online interaction' thing take up so much horizontal space..

Heck, couldn't they even put the 'Memory Required' box on the top, next to the Vita logo? I don't think 'Playstation Network' serves much of anything there.

Ah, ok -- I missed that context originally.
Makes more sense now.

I would've posted stuff, but I wasn't cleaning off my 32gb card to get Rayman on it again, especially since I'd already platinumed it and I have enough stuff I can't fit on the card again.

I've bought a Vita, woooooo. I cant do anything though because my really bloody expensive memory card hasn't come yet.

If it wasn't for PS+ I'm not sure I'd of ever got one.

I got Soul Sacrifice too! Won't play till tonight because I'm spending time with my boyfriend, but damn I'm excited. Got my pre-order code and everything. I thought I would use the regular cover art, I'm using the reversed one instead.

When sometimes people take advantage of the top post to give game recommendations, maybe they should think about mentionning the challenge of the month.

I'll do it now.

you're going to love it. just embrace it and let it envelope you.

feel free to ask for game reccs or any questions. and welcome!

as for the may OT

God damn does this thing just feel so great in my hands playing a game. I booted up Mortal Kombat that I got on Black Friday last year and had hardly played since and started up story mode. Did the first three chapters and felt like I could have played all day if I didn't have errands to run later. I own 3 actual Vita games but I feel like I'm not giving the system it's fair shake this year compared to the 3DS.

Definitely a few games at least that I'm interested in coming out at some point in 2013. Also feel like the PS+ stuff that I already have could be fun too even if I wasn't really interested in them when I bought the system.

As a primarily handheld gamer nowadays, I feel like I'm living in a golden age. I still have my DS phat and my 3DS to handle the Nintendo side of things. I still have my PSP 3000 and Vita to handle the Sony side of things.

I honestly feel like if more people had the system in their hands and could play games on it they would fall in love with it too.

edit: god tier post 7777

i finished thomas was alone yesterday. great game. it wasn't challenging, but i honestly found it really relaxing to play. if you're looking for a relatively stress-free game to play before bed, i would recommend it!

I was done thinking that I'm not getting the game...
now I'm rethinking due to your post :O

i hate having the responsibility of causing someone to purchase a game, so please look at videos/reviews too lol. it was a bit short, but it is on sale (for ps+ users) until the ps store update later today at $8. it probably took me about 3 hours to play through it, so keep that in mind too. i'm not sure of the replayability yet as i haven't even had a chance to go back to it yet. finished it quite late last night. very good experience though. i haven't actually been pushed to finish an indie game like that very often.

edit: just bought the dlc for it as well. excited to play tonight.

haha did you play with the commentary on?

Does playstation allstars and sonic racing have allot to do in single player? Im pretty sure im going to pick up Sonic, but im not sure about allstars. If there is a good amount to do in single player I might pick it up (unlockables, challanges, etc)

Sonics been tempting me for too long now so I need to pick it up.

But you're assuming it will. We don't know that.

Most of what ends up on EU PS+ comes to US PS+.
I think we're missing a few things here and there, but I think Batman is coming in May.
And if it doesn't? It's only $10 -- the $2 discount isn't something where you'd be nuts to miss it.

No.
Sony Smash is only fun against other people... single player is minimal and a terrible experience.
I platinumed it twice and it was a chore both times.

Why are you so unsure about the game? Anything specific that has you worried?

I think the main problem is that, aside of a neat Story with decent narration to it, the game is really short and really easy. No more than 3-4 hours at most.

With that being said It did not stopped me from enjoying it fellow GAFfer:

Its really a nice game but you should spend $10 elsewhere and hope for a ps+ discount/freebie

You can take screenshots on your Vita. PS button + start at the same time.

Rayman isn't on my Vita because i platinum'd it then uninstalled it because 32GB isn't enough space ;_; I'll do next months challenge if it's a game i own!

Velocity Ultra needs to be mentioned in the thread title, k?

hmm. more of a cost thing.
if it was 4.99 or less, I would have bought it without thinking so much...

but with all the coming titles (Soul Sacrifice, etc) I thought I would wait a little since I do have a backlog... (and have the few dollars saved go towards those coming titles/discounted sales)

It isn't giving me the insta-get/buy-me-now vibe! (Guacamelee gave me that feeling and I bought it upon release!)

I'm a person of irony.. lol
