New GTA V Trailers "MICHAEL. FRANKLIN. TREVOR."

Interesting. While I agree about the hoodrat escaping the hood is a bit cliche'd, I'd say Michael's character is about the same, for every Menace To Society, there's an Ocean's Eleven, Heat, or something similar.

That's the point of GTA characters, they ARE cliche's of what is going on in society. I don't understand why people haven't just accepted this.

You can say this all you want; people will still say the same shit.

How would she be repped though? I'm having a hard time imagining the fanbase opening up or being comfortable playing a woman. Wonder how a crude woman would be portrayed. Butch? Feminine? Psychotic blonde barbie doll? May have been interesting, but I don't think they wanted to do something so risky.

On top of that, I wonder if they will ever make a young protagonist. Like an 18-21 year old kid.

Ohh, they should have had a stereotypical guy who doesn't say a word, Claude Speed-style

And what about other minorities like Indians, Mexicans, Chinese like in Chinatown Wars?

Guess women and other minorities will serve as punchlines/minor roles or for spin offs. Can't blame them, but it'd be amazing if they did something totally experimental...just not worth it for their main, tried and true baby

How I see it too.
No matter HOW R* add a female you will still have many people moaning about she is too much like a man or she is boring or too fragile ect...

I'm like 99% sure one of the Housers stated that every GTA they do now will be modern day and that they're finished with the time period specific experiences.

That too bad, i loved Vice City.

That said, these trailers were enjoyable. Here's to hoping for huge advancements in driving physics and shooting mechanics.

Holy shit those trailers.. I think I've hit the point where I am officially hyped for this game. It's sunk in. God fucking damn R* knows how to make trailers.

The detail in the environments, the variety in environments, the action scenes, the animation, the detailed interiors, the voice acting.. ALL SO GOOD. I thought the Trevor one was particularly good.

Bring it on.

Michael slamming the golf club :lol

His trailer is funny as hell to me for some reason. That music combined with all the chaos I guess. Good stuff. And I really like the Ned Luke guy as his voice actor.

Are you asking if all 30+ million purchases of those three games resulted in disappointment?

Going to take a wild guess and say no.

I'm asking that just because a trailer is "amazing" doesn't mean the gameplay will be. They are not one and the same yet everyone has already decided that the game is "best ever".

People reacted the same way with other rock star games yet the trailers don't always represent the final product and some people forget this. Sometimes balanced heads leads to better discussion but I might be off by saying that.

I know they've "paid homage"/ripped off Scarface, now Sopranos, and whatever else...

Man would I love to see them do Breaking Bad.

Reluctant protagonist who gets caught up in things and becomes a bad ass.
Just a character and a sidekick, personal, closely knit story. Guess that's hard to do with the concept of open-world gameplay, but I just want to play as Heisenberg.

Why are we even discussing the woman thing. It's a non issue. I swear the thought never even comes up while watching these trailers.

Can't wait for this one.

The graphics look about as good as Max Payne 3, which is truly impressive. The story looks like GTA standard fare, with the exception of Trevor. The player has never controlled one of the Rockstar lunatics...so that could be an interesting shift.

All three trailers were great. I'm so ready for this.

Also, I had a good laugh at the end of the Trevor trailer.

Man, these graphics aren't so hot. Really ugly character models too. Rockstar should've waited for next gen, IMO.

LA Noire and Black Ops 2 have me spoiled, I guess.

*crickets*-_-
You know the two games couldn't be more different right?

This looks AMAZING, incredible. September is so far away.

They did do this. His name was Niko.

Right, and those disappointed by GTA IV have reacted with appropriate (for the most part) caution and skepticism. No problem with wanting to hold off on getting hyped before release if that's how you feel.

But personally, I've loved everything they've done this gen. Their last open world game is maybe my favourite open world game of all time. I really have no reason to doubt Rockstar at this point.

Looks amazing to me.

When it comes to GTA, I always expect people to be super critical of it. The series is generally held to a higher standard than other games.

Goddamn these trailers are amazing. I refuse to pick a favorite, the whole point for me is that this one is about a trio of partners. The Three Fuckskateers. It's been a while since I've had this level of hype. i.e. wishing I could go into a coma until the release date.

I'm with you, I love me some varied weather.

There's a screenshot floating around taken during a thunderstorm that looks pretty sweet. I remember Red Dead had awesome thunderstorms, so I bet this will also. Snow would be cool, but I doubt we'll see any since this is basically Los Angeles. Maybe in the mountains, I don't know how extensive the mountain areas are going to be.

You never witnessed a thunderstorm in GTA IV? Its weather was all over the place. It had more than one mode of rain, from light drizzle to major thunderstorms complete with lightning.

Why isn't the entire game about Trevor? For fucks sake the other two look boring. And Franklin? I've already played that game sorry. But Trevor; that's what I want in my GTA characters. Fucking maniacs.

Trevor already looks insufferably monkey cheese wacky. I'd have traded him for a dirty cop who gets in deep with the others and has to hide his/her dealings from the LSP

Oh wow that would have been awesome!! Tenpenny II

Or how about a Skinhead! American History X style. Small town setting, and all. Edit: Well, AHX is too serious, but a skinhead in general. Exploring and poking at racism as a more prominent theme.

GTA needs to be controversial again to really get the spark back. I can understand that people feel everything is clockwork in terms of how they approach the game. A skinhead game would probably do that, but I wonder if more people would feel morally conflicted
