hmm, I would say no - but I also wonder if that's exactly what people dislike about that series. im not trying to project false consciousness on anyone but I think maybe there's an overattribution to floaty physics as the one thing wrong with it. if we just take it at face value that it's the physics maybe it's something that you can learn to appreciate. i have 11 different platformer games on my vita and I would probably think less of them if they all had the same snappy, responsive type of control. lpb is a series that plays with momentum. some of it doesn't quite work as intuitively as it should but I did learn to appreciate even some of the things I hated the most (like the grappling hook) when I started to internalize how the physics is in that game
If i were trying to convince you to buy the vita version in particular I would say that the game is more hybrid than pure platformer compared to the other games. what I find fun about it isn't necessarily jumping around although that can be fun too. it's the secondary interactions with the touch, gyro, etc.
