Other than Isco, the other 3 seem realistic targets. De Gea would be tough to sign, but there are other keepers better than Valdes so no biggie.

Why other than Isco, he would seem to be the easiest to get, no? He has that release clause after all. Or do you just mean that Barca don't need him?

Bild is claiming that Zenit are after Kyriakos Papadopoulos (great name btw). Would be a great signing (we tried getting him in the summer too), he seems quite talented from what I've seen, although I think he's been injured most of this season. What are your thoughts on him, Bundesliga-gaf?

You've dug up 50 years to find a stat from 1961 in response to how the 2013 sides compare? Damn, and I thought we Arsenal fans had it bad when we watched highlights of our 2004 season

What's more amazing is that in those 50 years you haven't managed to win a single Champions League. The great Arsenal, lol.
Oh yeah, it's 61 and 62, back to back European Cups. Get back to me when you can manage to win one. I don't even want two in a row ;)

He is real good and incredibly mature for his age.

Schalke has an awful lot of youngsters ready to jump in, Kolasinac being their last raw diamond. They make a good job integrating their U-21 players in the first so I wouldn't mind Papa and Draxler leaving since there will be guys in the ranks up to the challenge.

Especially, Meyer is a guy to have an eye on. He reminds me of Quaresma when he debuted for Sporting.

In which world is Hummels more realistic than Isco? One has a release clause and a team that won't play in Europe next season. The other plays CL, wouldn't be sold under €40m and has no intention to leave.

This summer, Hummels to Barca is just as much as a dream as Gündogan to United.

Thanks. I'm surprised with how many players we're currently linked with. I thought after we splurged our load last summer that we would be quiet on the transfer front for a while, but I guess not. Oh well, transfer muppetry is always fun.

Spanish league investigates possible match fix

Published: 6 minutes ago

MADRID (AP) - The Spanish football league is investigating a game between topflight teams Levante and Deportivo La Coruna for a possible case of match-fixing.

League spokesman Juan Carlos Santamaria confirmed Spanish media reports to The Associated Press on Friday that the league was examining Deportivo's 4-0 win at Levante on April 13.

Levante has issued a statement on its website saying it will "help and collaborate with any investigation."

Match-fixing is a crime in Spain and can lead to prison time for individuals or expulsion of a club from official competition.

Cavani at City would be awesome but they still need an English midfielder or striker more than anything. They should buy Jack Wilshere.

Hmm.. you both didn't read my post lol. More realistic TARGETS, not signings. Not saying we'd get them, but if Sandro was going to be chasing 3 players from those 4, Isco wouldn't be one of them.

More of the same blarney

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that progress is being made in a bid to bring "one or two" new additions to the United squad in the summer.

The Reds boss has explained that the scouting progress can take two seasons at times as plans are in place to dip into the transfer market again.

England Under-21 star Wilfried Zaha has already agreed to move from Crystal Palace and the manager is happy with the fact that his young players look certain to improve again next term.

"We've been doing that [planning for next season] for a while," he revealed at his pre-Chelsea press conference. "Your scouting goes on for the full season, actually sometimes two seasons when you maybe monitor a younger player. You want to see how he does the next season. That is the process we go through. We’ve got some ideas where we’re going and hopefully we can conclude them.

"We'll look at one or two bodies to come in. You’ve got to remember there are a lot of young players we expect to improve and take that into consideration. And you have to consider ages of players and protect that part. In the main, we’re know where we are. We’re comfortable.

"We have fantastic strength in depth. That’s the area where we don’t want to confuse ourselves because you end up with too many players and trying to keep them all happy. It’s happened a few times this season."
