Oh god who did that.
Downing told the Liverpool Echo: "Once Carra announced his retirement, Stevie mentioned to the lads that we should do something and with Carra loving his football so much, we decided to go to a game.
"The manager allowed us to go over there and we were all in a box at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night.
"It was the first time I've been there and it's an amazing stadium. The atmosphere towards the end, after Real scored those two late goals, was brilliant.
"Nuri Sahin joined us in the box after and brought a few of the Dortmund players with him. They were obviously delighted about getting through."
PSG, Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax & Galatasaray are champions this weekend if they win. Nice!
Wait until banned paper and the Mirror get hold of this:
Sahin's pretty much just a tour guide/party liaison nowadays, isn't he.
Maybe it was to rub it in that he achieved more at Dortmund then at lolipool
Ilkay dreams of playing in England.
Just need his pops on board and its a lock.
Oh god who did that.
Has he even played in the Champions League since his return?
Or was this just a brainless retort?
I reckon next summer the Rumbo might be on.

"It's always, 'What do you think? Ronaldo or Messi?'" Assou-Ekotto says, blowing out his cheeks and scarcely concealing the boredom. "Or maybe, because he is a Liverpool fan, 'Torres was good' ... blah, blah, blah. I don't particularly like talking about football. I don't immerse myself in it."
As if to illustrate the point, Assou-Ekotto looks blank when Luis Suárez's biting of Branislav Ivanovic comes up. "He did what?" he asks. "Il a mangé?" If he is joking, the deadpan expression is inscrutable. "Surely, Benoît ... come on." But no, it is plain. He has no idea. Assou-Ekotto has never got the fuss about football and footballers.
"In England, it's more objective. People are more cool about players earning millions. It's also not whether they agree with what I say, it's that there is a respect for the fact I was man enough to say it. I must say, as well, that I have seen quite a few Spurs players kiss the badge and then fuck off. I am still here."

Just checked, Sahin's featured in the Champions League twice this season, both times as a substitute. He played seven times for Liverpool and seven for Dortmund, although all his games for us were as a starter, whereas at Dortmund he's been used as a substitute.
Still can't wrap my head around the Sahin thing. It'll haunt me for a long time. At the time he was here it just made no sense to use him because he was far from ready to play in the Premier League.
AVB knew, too. Quite incredible really.
You should see the last game he played in. He scored a blooter. He's played pretty well since his return to Dortmund.
I saw that goal, was a beauty.
He scored a cracker against West Brom for us, and he often tried to shoot. It's just in other areas he wasn't fast enough, or strong enough, or confident enough. He didn't press with the intensity that Henderson would've, or even, at the time both were in contention, play as neatly as Joe Allen did, or whatever. He didn't have the passing range of Gerrard, or the holding ability of Lucas, and he just wasn't ever preferred. Even Shelvey had more about him to justify a place in the starting lineup, as proven when he came into that City game at Anfield early on and played exceptionally.
I don't blame Rodgers one bit for not shifting the entire team around to accommodate him.
You just needed Lucas fit.
The Dortmund buffet was declared open and there's no shutting it down for months and months yet.

Liverpool fans must be very happy with the direction Rodgers is taking you. Playing attractive football, scoring bucket loads of goals. Not in the top 4 but I suspect you'll get there in a few years if Rodgers stays around.
Arnold I think you need to try out a few formations.
It makes everything that little bit easier.
Yep.Our manager already knew this.
Edit: oh you already said that... well now don't I look stupid

lol, twitter is saying arsenal have signed Jovetic for £26m, won't believe it till I see him holding the no.9 shirt on the website.
He's actually on the way back to his former self. Not at his best yet but he's been doing great for us in the last few matches, I think he started the last 6 or 7 Bundesliga matches.
Sure, CL is different. Gündogan is better and we need a true DM like Bender in those matches. No way to play for Sahin. Next season will be interesting, though. Will be a very tough choice between Gündogan and Sahin in the important matches.
Also, credit to whoever's idea it was to bring in Dr Peters. Our club has been mentally fragile for so long that this was probably the best move we could have possibly made.
Fucking hell we could be relegated tomorrow.
I can't go back to League One. Don't send me back there.
Learnt my lesson about top four predictions but my favourite thing about Rodgers is his ability to coach.
Players have improved massively under him, and I feel like he's got the ability to improve players and unearth potential (Sturridge, Downing, Coutinho, Henderson, Enrique). Plus he's going to apply his coaching to the kids, which means we'll see players like Sterling, Suso, Kelly, Wisdom, and Shelvey grow substantially next season and beyond.
It's exciting, and offsets the disappointment of not playing in Europe, at least for me, anyway. The trajectory's good.

What?
His new team have gone further in the Champions League...? yeah, I dunno.

Craven Cottage is a nice ground to go to Arnold, neutral end too. Easy to get tickets.
And you can watch Berbatov live, it's quite something.
Further than liverpool? Shit makes no sense
He's right that they have achieved more than Liverpool.
But Sahin hasn't really had any involvement in that.
