Good news that Wenger is giving signs he wants to stay on. I really want him to make Arsenal a success again.
Coutinho got a new haircut. :3
Chelsea and Benfica are getting less than 10,000 tickets each for the EL final.
In a stadium with a capacity of 53k+.
Football, eh.
Tuttosport: Cavani has agreed personal terms worth £140,000/week + bonuses with City, clubs are negotiating a fee that could include Dzeko.
He's already betrayed god and and his family, now he'll betray his club. #Traitor. Dzeko isn't going to Napoli though, he's Dortmund bound.
If FM is to be believed, all these guys are commanding £20-30k per goal.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has hinted that winger Scott Sinclair's future could lie away from the club.
The 24-year-old has started just three games for City since his £6.2m move from Swansea last August.
Mancini accepts he has not given the player much opportunity and could understand if he was frustrated.
"This situation with Sinclair is difficult because I didn't give him a lot of chances to play," he said.
loooooooooooooooooooooool
"I don't know this (if he will stay)," Mancini said on Friday. "This situation with Sinclair is difficult because I didn't give him a lot of chances to play. He is very unlucky.
"It is my fault, not his fault. A young player like Scott who is a good player deserves to play always. For him, it was a really difficult year this year.
"Scott is young and he has good quality but this year was difficult for him. It is better if he can have another solution," the Italian added.
"If he stays here, maybe, he can change everything but I can understand his frustration in this moment because he didn't play a lot of games.
"For me, he is a good player. We have one team. For him, it was difficult. I repeat: He did everything well, he worked well, he is a good guy, he deserves to play. I can understand when one player can't play often, it is difficult."
It is my fault, not his fault
Do you think he'll spend this summer? I imagine the worry for Arsenal is that if you come 3rd, either the board or Wenger will think that not too much investment is required, when in reality that's just papering over the cracks.
We were the perfect example of that. The drop off from 08 season to 09/10 was terrifying.
He will spend. I can't see Arsenal not bringing in one or two players.
Think he's given up on Diaby for good? Because we desperately need a holding midfielder.
Sinclair to Newcastle for 5 million.
Thanks Marwood.
Milan signed 18 year old Jherson Vergara Amú. Has anyone seen him play? Andrés? He's colombiano.
Also, some Italian newspaper claims Milan might go after Cesc Fabregas. Don't know how to feel about it.
For EPL followers, if Liverpool finished sixth next season, within say 8 points of 4th, would you consider that reasonable progress?
Also, is there anything cuter than waking up to find your cat curled up a foot away from your face, with their head upside down?
Liverpool :1.31
1.81
Everton : 1.74
1.62
Tottenham :1.74
1.93
Arsenal : 1.74
1.94

Cya Scott.
Not sure he'd join a championship side.

MONEYBALLI spent way too much time thinking about this but in any case, no that would be pretty terrible in most cases.
First of all, bear in mind that Liverpool are currently on track to be pretty close to such a points total. If we consider that the standard 4th place points total is 70 (which it seems likely that Arsenal or Tottenham will end up on; their maximums are 73 and 74 respectively) then Liverpool would be 7 points off if they win all their remaining games. Naturally Liverpool may not do that, but on the assumption Liverpool get roughly half of the remaining points, 5, then they would still be on 59 - thus the next season would be an improvement of 3 points. What I'm saying is that such a season would barely represent an improvement at all - advancing at such a rate it would take Rodgers 10 years to get Liverpool to a title winning position.
Now this begs the question of what would be an improvement. Thus we first need some kind of reliable indication of how Liverpool should perform next season. First we would take this seasons point total - let's say 61 points meaning Liverpool get 7 in the remaining games. So the baseline for Liverpool is a minimum of 61 to have any improvement. But, here we must consider that a team's ability can change over the course of a season - the January transfer window being a prime example. So let's look at PPG in 2 halves:
Code:Liverpool :1.31 1.81 Everton : 1.74 1.62 Tottenham :1.74 1.93 Arsenal : 1.74 1.94
The table demonstrates First 19 games compared to next 16 (15 for Spurs). As you can see, Liverpool witnessed a significant increase in the latter part of the season, which if replicated next season would give them 69 points. Now, here again we mus make the point: we cannot draw any real implications from data that may merely be random. Changes in one half to the other may be purely random chance and not indicative of any real changes in a team's ability. So keep a pinch of salt in mind when drawing anything from these figures.
That being said, Liverpool is perhaps the most significant change, given that they had 2 impactful January purchases, plus the expected improvement from 'adjustment to Rodgers' (Tottenham would also be influenced by adjustment to AVB).
In summation, I think that Liverpool's current aim should be 69 points for next season (taking into account the fact that random chance is a significant influence, this would represent an improvement I feel). Now this is purely a current speculation, it is based only on what we know now. The summer will bring significant changes that can have a huge impact on what expectations are; some possible future variables to consider are below:
Liverpool - Likely limited summer outlay; Possibility of major player departures; Large number of youth could see larger than expected improvement
Arsenal - Much depends on their transfers; Without knowing Cl places much is unpredictable; Manager situation also a factor
Tottenham - Also dependant on Cl places; Could also see major departures
Everton - Financial situation means likely to have to sell once again.
And large penises.
de Boer is going to be Barca manager eventually isn't he?So let's talk history now. Frank de Boer can add him self to a very select group of people at the club. Before De Boer only Rinus Michels and Louis van Gaal managed to win three titles in a row at Ajax. And then imagine he's only been our manager for 2,5 years now.
But in the end managers don't matter. We all know that.

He turned down a City offer last season. I really can't preditct where he'll end up. Seeing Barca and us share the same idea of football it would make sense though. He also once said he wanted to be our SAF. But I don't see that happening to be honest.
Interesting, haven't heard that rumor before. I know there has been a rumor we're interested in him this season though and he mentioned he'd love to coach at Man City but wasn't ready to do so just yet.
MONEYBALL
Liverpool should be competing for 4th spot next year, whether they get it or not to have improved significantly I think they need to be in the hunt with 3/4 games of the season left to play.
A better time to adjust the expectation would be, as you say, after the transfer window. But I sense Liverpool will spend just as much if not more than either Spurs or Arsenal so certainly being in contention for the top 4 is IMO the minimum Liverpool should be aiming for next season.

Heerenveen finally confirmed the Djuricic transfer to Benfica this afternoon. Good move for him, hopefully he won't be benched there. Would be a waste of such a talented player.

I'm not sure Spurs or Arsenal have the means to spend something like £40m net which Liverpool have done in the last two seasons. Perhaps with the CL money one of them will be able to but I'd be surprised, it would be completely unprecedented for either of them.Actually just waiting for the end of the season could provide a much better picture. And really mine was very basic analysis, I lack the stats skills to do much more ( like I wanted to examine the PPG stuff in more detail, breaking it down further and weighting for difficulty of matches but thats way beyond my skills and time).
In any case I disagree that Liverpool will spend as much as Arsenal or Tottenham. If Tottenham finish 4th then I expect them to spend heavily on a marquee signing and they'll spend more than Arse/Pool. If Arsenal finish 4th then perhaps they'll do their usual transfer incompetence but you never know when one year they might actually get serious and spend big. Liverpool will have money to spend but if Arsenal or Tottenham really go all out they won't match them.
Plus if Suarez goes, we should get a minimum of at least £40m. I have being think recently if it would be worthwhile to cash in on Suarez. As amazing as he is it may serve us well to strength our squad all over. If you look at our bench we lack players. New centre half, extra left back, extra defensive midfielder, extra winger would do our squad wonders.

Beat me to it, was about to post this. I'm happy.
