Yves Guillemot confirmed that Ubi has unannounced Vita titles coming this year. Doubt we'll see another AC with Sofia on Black Flag, though.

Correct.

Black Flag began development in summer 2011, Ubisoft told Eurogamer, while the company was still busy applying the finishing touches to Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Since then, Ubisoft Montreal, Singapore, Sofia, Annecy, Kiev, Quebec, Bucharest and Montpellier have been working on the project, while others were kept busy with last year's Assassin's Creed 3.

2009:
- Uncharted 2 presentation
- MAG demonstrated
- PSP Go announcement
- Gran Turismo PSP trailer + release date (finally, after being announced as a launch title!)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker announcement + trailer
- Resident Evil: Portable announced (cancelled afterwards)
- PS1 Classics arrive to PSN, Final Fantasy VII available the same day
- Agent revealed (we're still waiting)
- Assassin's Creed II presented (alongside with Bloodlines connection on PSP)
- New Final Fantasy XIII trailer
- Final Fantasy XIV announcement
- PlayStation Move revealed (without the name, spring 2010 release date which was later moved to fall 2010)
- The Last Guardian shown (we're still waiting)
- ModNation Racers revealed and presented
- Gran Turismo 5 trailer
- God of War III demo closing the show.

It's a shame that Last guardian, Agent, and Verses will never release for the PS3 4 years later.

Taking a break from Kaz and my kazification trilogy in the PlayStation Meeting thread ( http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=47851934&postcount=11352 ) and now getting the dynamic duo of Cerny and Perry in on the action! Sony E3 conference thread HYPE!

since they were working on AC4 since 2011

Hmm, source?

Anyway, I believe one of the ACIV leakers here claimed that there was no upcoming Vita AC he was aware of, that Liberation was being ported to consoles, and that Ubi's Vita titles were Rayman Legends and R6: Patriots.

Grain of salt about all that, obviously. Legends seems likely, though I'd be more skeptical about the latter, as it doesn't seem like a title that could be ported to mobile hardware very easily.

Not sure if this was confirmed or not, are we doing a spoiler free thread? First time I'll miss the live show.

I would love to see kojima in Sony's stage announcing MGS5 to the PS4 too with a new demo./10min trailer.

What do you mean spoiler free?

When something is announced, 10secs later, a thread in the first page is made.

MS having 2 conferences kind of close, either the e3 is weak or this may 21st conference is weak.

Actually, all big 3 have mentioned the restricted time they get on stage during E3 conferences. Seperating the console/hardware and etc into their own presser is brilliant.

Although, Nintendo skipping a conference all together doesn't bode much confidence.

Nintendo isn't skipping anything, they are replacing the big conference with Nintendo Directs that focus on the gamer (unlike the big conferences).

They are not having a press conference at E3. How is that not skipping a conference at E3. I will agree with you, if you are saying Nintendo having a ND instead is a good move. Keeping themselves seperated from the hype of the other two big events was smart. Especially if one is needing to save all that money.

This boggles the mind. How does a big conference not focus on the gamer? It focuses on the spectacle of consoles and reveals.

Absent that, it just because any other announcement and loses a significant amount of the magic.

Then who does E3 conferences target?

Nintendo chose to skip an industry standard because they believe their NDs are enough. I think it is a mistake. Nintendo carved a niche in the casual market, which is a market that simply doesn't follow gaming websites like us, hence it is very unlikely they will watch any ND. To get back in touch with that massive audience that bought the Wii, they need events that are widely covered and broadcasted by the mainstream media, like the E3 conferences.

They won't have that this year, so basically they are relying almost entirely on their fans and core gamers. That is not enough IMO, especially when third parties don't support them and they take so long to deliver exclusives to a platform that is about to face two huge competitors.

Something I just realized . . .

Apple's WWDC keynote is at 10AM June 10th

Microsoft's is at 9:30 AM.

Apple definitely wins my attention in the morning and Sony wins my attention in the evening at 6 PM.

No attention for you microsoft . . .

I only have one hope/wish, that they show some mindblowing new IPs. I want something interesting, not just another hash of a game I played this entire generation. Same goes for MS. Show me something that will rekindle my love for games.

This is why I was looking forward to Ninty's presser, but their decision to not bother with one has really thrown me for a loop...

Knack will deliver! #teamcerny

Knack will deliver! #teamcerny

In all honesty, Knack was the only game I was impressed by at the meeting. The others were visually stunning, but that's about it. They didn't seem to be doing anything new or exciting. I want something that feels new, fresh, that's able to grab my attention and reinvigorate my gaming senses.

It's all come to a head for me with Blood Dragon. A good game, highly stylized that's able to grab my attention, but it's still just the same old boring mechanics, missions, etc under all the neon and stylized visuals. It's fun for the first couple of hours, but then you start to feel a little bored and lose interest...

Anyway, I feel I'm going off point. Show something new and exciting Sony.

Vita plan:
  • Announce another couple of big titles
  • Demo the PS4 remote play again - emphasise this works with most games
  • Price cut

That could be enough to surge some life into the console.

I sure hope Sony will show some good games at the E3 for the launch line up. Cause neither of the current line-up makes me wanna buy the PS4 at a premium. I have pre-ordered the PS4 but will probably cancel it if it does not get any interesting launch games and invest in upgrading my PC instead this year and probably buy the PS4 in 2014 sometime.

Microsofts history is outright dropping the xbox when the 360 came out. But the xbox wasn't much.

So they might take the same approach again next gen, forcing users onto the new system. While sony does plan to even let their first party keep releasing titles on ps3.

I seriously doubt MS will do with 360 what they did with the Xbox. People are just too invested in the 360 with acheivements, services and digital content (including games).

MS would gather a hellstorm of badwill and seriously damage their brand if they just abandoned the 360. They just cannot and will not be that dumb.

Im just saying this close in time we might be seeing continuation from MSs conference. People will not neccarily feel "full" from it. E3 Is right around the corner though so that gives people little time to be unsatisified.

LUMINES LUMINES LUMINES LUMINES LUMINES
When they approached Daft Punk to license some of their existing songs in the first Lumines for Vita the French duo was so excited that they wanted to create the entire soundtrack for the game with exclusive tracks. But Q (or Ubi?) said nope, that they wanted to feature music from a lot of people in the game.

I'd paid a lot of money for just a Supernova reskin with Daft Punk songs only. In any case I want moar Lumines.

I'd make the E3 conference, but I'd say it isn't a mistake. To fight against the reveal of 2 consoles is too difficult specially if you don't have huge bombs to drop and you don't have a strong support from 3rd parties in home consoles. I'd say ND work really well for them, and that it's the future standard for 1st parties. Even if some of these videos could be streamed live from conferences like the E3 one.

I also think the ND approach is very smart and even wish Sony and MS would also implement it in full force (Vita Heavens are still lacking IMO) at some point starting this year.

What I tried to say was that holding a E3 conference, even if lacking, is better than not having one at all. The event is not only about games, its about sending a message to the public and investors, and Nintendo skipping it sends a message of lack of confidence (besides missing a huge opportunity to reach a lot of non/casual gamers). Us gamers might be disappointed for not having a show, but there is a real damage that goes beyond the industry and affects directly the company's name and image.

Calling it! Kingdom Hearts 3 for the PS4 2014 Spring while FF XV is a near launch title.

I hope this is a joke because I can guarantee you this won't happen. I doubt the rumoured 2.5HD will even be out by early 2014.
I think we'll see KH3 announced via a teaser trailer, I do think it will be there, but in name only and wouldn't expect it until 2016 at the earliest. It's possible if this new FF is versus reskinned/retitled that it may release in 2014 though.

KH 2.5 should be out in the beginning half of 2014 in Japan at least and later in the West. If FFVersus ended development in 2013, KH3 should be out by fall 2015 as they are using the same engine.

KH 1.5: 2013
KH 2.5: 2014
KH 3 : 2015

Makes sense.

I think that if we check the Vita line-up for its first year it's a very strong one. But most of the great titles were released just at launch, giving the impression that the rest of the year was weak.

Let's hope with PS4 this time they spread the big guns across the launch window instead of focusing too much into the release day. It's really cool to have a lot of awesome games day one because it encourages (at least for me) the day one purchase of the console and makes me more confident to get one, but I think it isn't a good idea if it does mean that the next few upcoming months won't have several great games.

Fuck, really?
Everyone remotely interested in tech will be watching the Apple keynote instead of MS.
I bet they are not too happy about losing like 90% of the spotlight.

They need to structure it as such...

Talk about PS3 stuff
Talk about Vita stuff
Talk about PS4 stuff

The bigger the hype surrounding something, the later you leave it. That way, by the end, Sony can unleash all the megatons like The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy Whatever coming to the PS4, among other announcements hopefully, and BAM! What better note to end your conference on.

And I really hope there's a segment where the Vita is focused on, and not swept aside like the mockery that was last year. If there's nothing substantial announced for the Vita at E3 this year, then that practically spells out its future. It's over. I think however that they'll lend it a fair bit more coverage this time

I'd rather them end it with a firework display from PS Home 4K edition.
