If you want both nickname and your real name, just put the nickname as a middle name
Edit: How many here are going with their real games for the credits? I'm using this nickname.
Did that, but looking at it my first name looks kinda long, and the nickname doesn't quite roll with the rest of my nameIf you want both nickname and your real name, just put the nickname as a middle name![]()
I just put my handle in between my first and last name.
What kind of character does Skullgirls need next?
Either an honest-to-god easily approachable character like Annie, or a slippery zoner like Black Dahlia.

Someone on Skullheart once mentioned how weird it was that we have no rain in a kingdom that calls itself the "Canopy Kingdom". I lost it there. We definitely need some overcast skies, lighting and rain up in here.I really hope Rainy Street makes it in as a stage. I love rainy stages!
EasilyAnother interesting thing is the Filia story hints, alongside a couple of pieces of art that do remind me that Filia's design in-game is actually a lot less exploitative than it could have been. I still think Filia's design would have been a lot better with a slight costume redesign.
Probably Parasoul's father and that umbrella was supposed to represent death itself iirc. Someone tell Alex to use Juju's slot for him please. He needs to be in the game. He actually reminds me a bit of Hoenheim from Fullmetal Alchemist. That would be a GREAT type of character to introduce to the game down the road. One thing I'm really curious about in the sketchbook is the crab legged girl. What her deal? Oh, and the dude with the umberlla/cane/buzzsaw thing.
Max practically lost it at the 3S and MvC2 talk. This really needs to happen again. It was definitely a shoe in for top three of the Salty Cupcakes events so far.You would not be able to parry a projectile that went over 1/4 of the screen. Obviously 3S could use a couple more fixes than just that, but I think something that simple could have huge implications on the viability of characters like Remy. I don't know if Twelve's ground arm thingy is considered a projectile, but that'd be pretty nice for him too if it is. I'm sure Ryu players would like it too.
Either of them would be better than another complicated character.I think a trap based zoner like Black Dahlia would be a nice change of pace of pace from the norm.
You'd have to ask Alex and this is only the Sketchbook. The compendium will probably be gigantic in comparison. With a Feng in between for good measure!
Question to folks that got the art compendium: Why wasn't that dragon armor dude vote able?![]()
We need simple. Annie fits the bill for that casual crowd that likes her and the speculation that she'll be more straightforward than the rest of the cast. What kind of character does Skullgirls need next?
Gaaaaaaaaaaahthe title is in need of more characters with an emphasis on zoning or a long ranged based game.
Ileum, Marie, Black Dahlia, and maybe Beatrix would all fit that bill I think.
I just put my handle in between my first and last name.
There are degrees of simple. I expect him to be more simple than someone like Painwheel or Valentine. As straightforward as a sword character in the vein of Annie or a super simple zoner/keepaway character like Peacock? MaaaaaybeMike Z was spot on about BB getting less and less fun with every version. Im glad ArcSys got to make P4A and GGACR on the side.
One thing he was off about though was I believe Daisuke wasn't the director of Slash and ACR
A new person took over at that point.
Speaking of simple, I have no reason to believe Stanley wouldn't be simple as well.

If however we're referring to what character types the game "needs" to diversify the current playstyles then, coming from someone who plays the game, the title is in need of more characters with an emphasis on zoning or a long ranged based game.
Marie, Marie, Marie, and maybe Marie would all fit that bill I think.
Just vote for Marie at the end of the day.
Holy shit, this is amazing. I wish I had more to say, but... wow. All of a sudden, I'm tempted to swap my wallpaper.
Man, I don't care what anyone else says, Peacock inspires the best fan-work out of the existing cast by far.Because Peacock.
I'm looking forward to seeing more well-done Eliza art as well! Hopefully some with Horace and Albus added too.

Also, is it wrong that I think Horace and Albus look cooler than Eliza?
This really great.

It's by far my favorite rendition of Annie that I've seen.
So good.
Chris Ko, that guy, is one of our best animators. Really fantastic guy, too.
Yeah... we're probably gonna have a lot of air dominating characters as is. A more interesting approach would be making him a good character from the underground perspective since he can dive underground. I'm sure he'll get some sweet Iron Man screen carry and corner combos. Also, there is no way a Proton cannon is a "maybe" when you make a Shark scientist based on Iron Man. It's like making a sword character that only kicks. That doesn't make any sense.Well I was thinking hybrid of Slayer and mvc2 iron man simple. Slayer is listed as a insperation, so I want to assume the sway and maybe bite loop stuff is on the table. Then maybe a beam like iron man and some flight combo stuff.
He could be an ok character to learn the game with in that tool set kind of how I would suggest magneto to learn marvel with if you want to get a hold of the engine can do.
Though annie would be even better imo for that
The best Annie yet. The color, expression and detail is top knotch. Not that there weren't good Annies before. Some of the others were downright amazing.
Robot Santa and Baroness are the best.Black Dahlia palettes

I like it, but there are others that grab me even more. Snowy Korea, the Aquarium and that stage with a bunch of waterfalls at night are just GORGEOUS.Would be cool if they got a stage like my favorite SNK background:
They've got no reason to turn him down besides a whopping $250,000 in cold hard cash. At least he has a chance unlike the Vulcan Heel characters(we were lucky to get Panzerfaust).Oh God, I want this so badly now, especially seeing how wicked the design of the father's umbrella is.
All it tells me is that we need an even stronger push for community funded and built games. Between projects like SG and Divekick we have nowhere to go but up. What we need is for one of them to hit the big time in some shape or form. Me thinks cracking open the PC market will be a defining moment since Capcom can't even break 300k. Divekick may have a better chance if the world gives it break(I swear Skullgirls must have pissed off somebody upstairs... or down below). One of the standout moments of the Mike & Max Fighting Science Hour for sure. The raw enthusiasm that came from Max after that was said was great. :lol
It's a nice feeling compared to the experience we had with Vanilla and Ultimate isn't it? Having multiple reputable people who you can talk with is a precious thing in this genre. Now you know why I can't go back to being a minion.I know what my first question's gonna be next Salty Cupcakes. Those guys always seem to catch my questions most. :lol
I literally said he should work with you guys out loud as I browsed his page. Swear to God, I did.So good.

Who's that winged guy?
I don't remember him in the voting.
Oh and the insect leg girl or whatever too.

Also, I bet he'd draw a mean Feng.

When was he comparing SG and DK directly? Also, get off your high horse. Please don't compare a playable in-joke that got out of hand with the work put into conceiving and implementing Skullgirls, it's depressing.
One day I'll get an Annie/Sol commission done by him and it will be glorious. Hopefully you guys get big enough to convince him to head out there someday. One taste of that Mike Z special and some Salty Cupcakes and you'll snag him for good. He's one of our best animators - if he was local, he'd be a full-time employee. And if he wasn't already gainfully employed in NYC, we'd probably move him out here.
I feel bad for the people who genuinely care over there because you could tell some people at Capcom were excited to be working with the series and interacting with the fans. Capcom just needs to get away from the licensed crap and focus on their own IP again so they don't have to stonewall us 24/7. Last year was basically them shoving SFxT down our throats while we kept begging for more Mahvel lol. It's extremely refreshing and reassuring in the face of so many "coulda/woulda/shouldas" and "get fucked" from some of the PR sent to deal with us Marvel minions at times. I'm extremely happy that Skullgirls is coming along well and the goodwill and design sense of the team is continually rewarded between this and the previous EVO drive. I just hope to see it explode soon enough, even if the game enjoys a healthy fan base at current.
Your post depresses me too so I guess we're even. Please don't compare a playable in-joke that got out of hand with the work put into conceiving and implementing Skullgirls, it's depressing.

Eh, he is okay. Let's just agree that sword characters are the best. If we were to make a list of them I'd be tempted to say that my statement is objectively true lol.I'd personally ask for a Dante Annie SP, but that's because you know where my allegiances are.
MVC3 Dante da bess
Oh, no doubt about that. "Big time" just means doing well enough that sequels, DLC characters and growth for the team are actually possible. You know... a healthy company. I guess that has happened in Japan for some small companies, but we can barely get their games here and legit PC ports for worldwide access are still far off. SG is primed to land on the PC after hitting consoles just about everywhere and it is amazingly successful in Japan for the PS3. If SG sells more on PC than on consoles and obtains a nice presence on Japanese arcades I consider that nearly "big time". A sequel is the dream.Skullgirls was always doomed to being a bit niche due to its somewhat divisive artstyle and all female cast.

The AAA fighting game market is something else entirely.
You've just summoned Beef.Lab Zero is the new ArcSys![]()
Oh, what role did you have in the original game?
Speaking of characters-that-we-would-have-liked-to-see-in-the-DLC-vote, I would have loved for the PI in the ending of Ms Fortune's story to be a playable character...
