Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

BlackLagoon, do you have a source for that? An interview or something? From that it seems that didn't even really want to put it on the PS platforms but conceded via a bunch of money.

Edit: oh...top of page...this is awkward. Buy games or something. Unless you don't want to. Up to you, really.

This one for example, I think there may have Gamasutra one with more details too. They were planning a PS3/360/PC release, but didn't like getting tied up to a publisher for the XBLA release, while I guess they felt the game was too big for a standard pub fund deal. By bending the rules Sony secured an exclusive and a Vita version in one blow.

Thanks. Pretty interesting. I figured they would have wanted a Vita version with how well Mutant Blobs Attack did.

Oh? Last we heard the Vita version was not coming over. Bamco changed its mind perhaps?

Yep the translation was paused 7 weeks ago but was resumed and finished a month ago.
50.000 words (5.000 words/day).
That's why I ask, Bamco has the full game translated.

I thought the Ps3 version was going to be localized, but not the Vita version.

The PS3 version will be released during august is the only confirmed but both versions are translated. I tried to contact with Namcobandai but they only reply with general empty words...

I have the PDP Pull and Go Folio, and I absolutely love it. It's kind of a silly name, but it is a great product. It is not a hardshell case like other cases, but it has ample padding in case of accidental drops. I have dropped, even accidentally "tossed" my Vita and it has landed on concrete, and it is still working like a champ, no scratches or cracks. Anyhoo...

$29.99 US. The case is essentially a case within a case. There is a removable pouch that velcros in to the larger case. The inner removable case has actual slots for the analog sticks, so that they are not bothered in any way during storage. All of this is a hard cloth like material, but in no way does it feel cheap or flimsy. The slight give the material provides might also help with sudden shocks to the Vita, as well. The case overall holds 23 games, 4 of which are located in the actual Vita case. There are slots for 2 additional memory cards. Also, there is a mesh pouch for you to put your charging cables in. I have also been able to fit in the Sony Portable Charger for the Vita as well. It took a little reorganization of the power cords, but it all fits nice and neat.

The case is probably 6x6x3, I don't have the actual dimensions. I have seen them in Gamestops and Best Buy's, but it's likely dependent on your area. I love this case though. I originally got one for my 3DS a while back, and nearly flipped my lid when I saw one for the Vita. I highly recommend it, as I have turned a few of my friends on to them as well and they love theirs.

Thanks for the feedback, Baron! This case looks really good, I checked some videos and people really praise it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMqWd3dMCr0 the only con is that it may be too big for some, but its nice that I can dettack the second case and carry only the vita around leavind the acessories in the main case.

Interesting ... maybe Scamco is gonna Scamco and release the Vita version late for $40 to get double dippers.

Just a quick question regarding Vita's region locking. If I get a download code for a game from the UK PSN, do I have to format my system and change from my Irish account to a UK account in order to access it or can I access it just fine on my Irish account?

I couldn't agree more with you. Anyone who is on the fence about picking it, I would recommend it bigtime. I used to hate golf in general, but oddly enough the first time I played a HSG game for the PSP I couldn't stop. Hundreds of hours, holes, eagles, chip ins and bunkers later, I am still loving every minute of it. It's silly that the most unrealistic golf game turned me onto the sport o.O

The inlcusion of online play and daily tournaments really add to the overall package of HSG for the Vita. And the DLC!! Kat from Gravity Rush is in it now! I am hoping for more DLC down the line, similar to the characters from HSG: Out of Bounds, but I will definitely takes what I can gets.

I have uploaded a couple of my best shots from HSG:World Invitational to YouTube, feel free to take a gander, and imagine the joy that comes when you land one just like it!!

...Ok maybe not joy at that last one, but you can't help but laugh...
This made me play HSG Vita again. Wish it would come to PS+ so I could have it on my mem stick. So many hours into Open Tee on PSP...

In my experience, PSN download codes generally work as long as the code and your account is in the same SCE region. All of Europe is under SCEE, so you should be fine. It gets a bit more complicated with DLC, which usually works region wide, but sometimes there are country specific retail editions that only work with DLC purchased from that country's store (in those cases there's usually a product id number listed in the DLC description so you can check if your retail copy is compatible first though).

A message from Shahid Shahid Kamal Ahmad (@shahidkamal) on Twitter:

To all the kind GAFfers on the TWA thread, I’ve just tried to comment again and don’t appear to have permission. No worries, next week maybe

Can someone help the guy?

Edit: By the way, what "TWA thread" means?

Great thanks man!

Thomas Was Alone, although I'm not sure which thread he's referring to.

Here's the best I could do with my phone's camera, sorry about the quality. Pretty easy to see the difference the AA makes, though.

Does Photo Kano not allow for system-level screenshots? That'd be...weird, considering the premise of the game and all.

It wouldn't be the first Vita game to do so. Even one of Sony's first-party games blocked the screenshot function (Resistance Burning Skies).

Just pops up with that message that you can't take a screenshot of this screen. Only way to do it is to save a picture you take, then view it later. If you press R there, it takes the usual screenshot, complete with the sound. Definitely strange, especially for this kind of game, but I know at least a few other games don't allow screenshots.

Well, I understand it in Resistance's case. Every nasty shot posted online would be a smear campaign against the console.

Can't imagine the fanbase is too happy about that.

I can sort of understand not allowing screenshots in a game where the entire premise is to (presumably) perfectly time photographs.

But I wish the screenshot function was mandatory for all games..

What does GAF think of HipHopGamer?
He just uploaded a video talking about GTA for PsVita.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfMxuGlZRxw

Is he full of shit or is this a real thing?

I've met Hip Hop Gamer the past two E3s and hes actually a very nice, funny and passionate guy when talking about videogames, but in most of his videos and opinions he loves to hype the shit out of everything. Maybe thats just how he is and thats fine, everyone is different. Even during some E3 press conferences he would say something like "shit!" "wow" "amazing" after every... single... trailer... to... every... game... lol :) It's hard to see him being negative about any game or console.

In this video its the same thing, hes saying that the PS4/720 will have the best launch games ever and stuff like that. What he says about GTAV on the PS4 is quite possible and same thing for GTA Vita since we had Liberty City/Vice City Stories on the PSP. Maybe PS4 will get a complete GTAV edition later on with all the DLC, who knows, I dont see Rockstar launching the same game for the PS4 four months after it hit the current gen consoles. Anyway, I think that this video just express his personal opinion and shouldnt be taken as something thats going to be announced soon.

Fellow GAFfers when you buy those Cross-buy games it does not matter if you buy it from the Vita or from the PS3, right? Because you always get it for the other platform, correct?

I thought you had to buy the PS3 version (which is more expensive) but don't take my word for it.

The only games where you have to buy the PS3 version are the titles that have been released in retail, so Sly and PS All-Stars. As for the others that are digital-only, like Guacamelee, Sound Shapes and Motorstorm it doesn't matter.

So if I want to get Sly from the Store I need to grab the PS3 version and it will give me also the Vita Version but if I want Guacamelee is does not matter on what platform to get because once I get one I get both, is that it?

That is right.

lol from almost now two years ago?
*sigh*
not getting my hopes up

Who'd even make a GTA/RD for Vita? A bunch of people left Rockstar Leeds after the studio became a port hub. Some formed SEGA Hardlight (who were working on a Vita game but that was canceled) and Activision Mobile.

Yeah. Generally, PSN Cross-Buy games are the same price on both systems and, because of that, it doesn't matter which one you buy it from. Retail Cross-Buy titles are usually more expensive on PS3 and this require the purchase of that one to get both.

Weren't Double 11 formed by a bunch of Rockstar folk? ;)
