Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

I barely even have time for Soul sacrifice but I bought the physical copy.....

and with the psn sale picked up MGS collection, and Sly copper.

all this on a 4gb card.

Im wondering though, if the Vita gets Minecraft it probably would not be the legit deal right? I have not played the 360 version but from what I understand its not the same as the PC version?

I also saw a mobile version of it, so if Minecraft really does come I wonder which version of the game it would be. I dont thini the PC version would be possible on a handheld...

Did Origins on Vita get good sales numbers? Its the best port on Vita i've ssen so far.
Legends on Vita with multiplayer... I'd send a love letter to ubisoft.

I think it did poorly all across the board. If it serves of any indication on the US store the full game has almost 6800 ratings and almost no one rates games.

On another topic. WTF the game no longer appears as bought for me on the store, it's on my download list but not on the store. WTF.

On the EU store it has 3285 votes.
AssassinsCreed3:Liberation has 3444 votes.
AssassinsCreed sold over 600k units according to Ubisoft.
But I guess more people bought AC3:L physically and you can't vote if you have a physical copy.

if it comes i would imagine it would be something close to the 360 version, as it would likely be the same version for both the ps3 and vita.

So Im looking at the PS Plus sales and I think Im gonna pull the trigger but I must ask Vita GAF some questions..

Is Portable Ops worth it?? I definitely not gonna play it anytime soon but is it a must have game when I romp through the MGS Series?

Should I skip Peace Walker Vita if I'm gonna buy the MGS Legacy Collection in June?

I want to buy both the GOW Origins games and financially it makes sense to buy the PS3 Collection but....

The PS3 has a shitton of games and I'm drowning in more than my fill of titles. My biggest fear is that these handheld games (PW,GOW:CoO,GOW:GoS) will pale in comparison to all the full length PS3 titles available on the system (My backlog is disgusting) and that I will probably enjoy them more in their native handheld form. The issue is that Sony doesn't have it make sense financially to do it that way...

HELP! Lol

I'm having such a hard time against tiger-man in Guacamelee. I suck. :x
Be cautious. Find an opening, break the shield, and use headbutt. Then headbutt again him before or right as he lands to get him back up in the air. If you headbutt him and he doesn't fly, get out of there as soon as possible.

If you're a fan, it's worth playing. It's not great but it's still fun. Doesn't work on US Vita though.

Depends where you want to play it, obviously it looks better on PS3.

PS3 EU = 1060 votes
Steam has 1930 recommendations worldwide.

Also, Steam (non-sale)price is reduced to 15€(guessing 15$ too), EU Vita price is still 35€, sigh... Even the PS3 version is cheaper at 30€.

Depends where you want to play it, obviously it looks better on PS3.

Heard the PSP framerate is downright abysmal too...

If you got a PSP -> Metal Gear AC!D (the 2nd one at least).

Just saying.

I wonder if Sony will do physical release collections for the Vita indie games. I can see The Walking Dead, and Minecraft (if it happens) going physical.

They had a few UMD collections of Minis, in EU and Australia.

But I think the Vita has a much lower retail profile than the PSP did and carts costs more than optical media, so it might not be cost effective.

And has there been any indication of Minecraft other than wishful thinking? Heck, there haven't even been any Minecraft clones on PSN, AFAIK.

I was a little surprised to see that I own Gravity Rush. Was it one of the free games from the PSN Outage snafu? I'm glad, as it's been repeatedly recommended, and it looks fun from what I saw on the store.

It would be similar to the Xbox version but likely worse (like the mobile version). Technical limitations but also because of save file sizes.

As I recall, one of the Mojang devs seemed open to it on Twitter, but wouldn't say more than that they would need to wait for the Xbox exclusivity agreement to run out. And the Fortresscraft guy got introduced to Shahid on Twitter recently.

Gravity Rush is-

Nevermind, I see wil has it handled. Good job.

sadly, I am only at Chapter 2 of the game but am loving it thus far
just that the OCD in me is trying to get 100% at every Challenge Quest I meet... which isn't a very smart way to go about games :O

Wait until you've upped all of Kat's powers - some of them are pretty much impossible without doing so :)

Disagree, except for the very first missions. With the exception of the very first mission near the fountain I beat them all on my first try, upgrades are very small differences..
The only ones I'd say make a difference would be Gravity timer (for missions that involve flying long ways) and gravity kick power.

If you own LBP on Vita, heart this creator samiamiamsam - he has the absolute best levels - well fantastic platforming levels with nice presentation, worth following what he's up to and playing. Playing his latest one now which is the latest team pick.

Also there is this cool thing called the LBPCentral Vita Spotlight Collection 1 which is a level with links to spotlight levels, honorable mentions and 'moar games' that they've picked out, all presented in a nice way. Pretty neat, it popped up in the news for me, but I haven't played in a while.

yes THAT mission haha

when you get around to it - utilize up? i think on the d-pad.

it recenters the camera when flying. SO helpful

I kinda would love to see some of the PS3 launch/early titles on the Vita again...

Heavenly Sword, Folklore would all be veryVERY nice...

even Enslaved or Majin Kingdom (3D Dot Game Heroes) would love to play them

(I have yet to play any of them sadly :/)

I'm waiting for LBP Vita to get on IGC.. :X
hope I'm not the only one waiting for this

So I'm (almost) finished with P4G. I want to delete the game data but back up the save. Is this possible?

If you have PS+ you can upload it to the cloud, or backup it to your PC using the Content Manager. I think you can also do this with a PS3.

Edit: beaten

Outside of 3D Dot Game Heroes every game you listed was a bomba. 3D Dot Game Heroes is unlikely because the developer is working on Bravely Default stuff now.

Okay, maybe i'm just terrible ;D

I'll have to check that stuff out. Thanks, Sky.

Wait a little while. Upgrade first and then tackle those missions. I made the mistake of doing those as I went along and almost quit playing. I'd suggest trying to do one, if you cant get it by your fifth try, then wait until you've upgrade one of your abilities and then try to tackle it again.

Or you could do this haha.

I'm about to buy a Vita and was wondering if I can download games (that I've obviously purchased from PSN) onto my PC, and then onto my Vita instead of having to go through my PS3?

As it is, the entire interface feels incredibly sluggish.

No, you can only download Vita games onto your Vita or PS3.

Nope, only on the PS3 or Vita itself. Oh, and welcome to the club future Vita bro. Do you have PS+?

Anyway, playing Soul Sacrifice, I have so many ideas about the directions in which a sequel could go. Just like Gravity Rush, it's a 10/10 style-wise, but around a 7 overall. With some more gameplay variety and depth, any potential sequel for either SS and GR could easily be GOTY contenders.

Sony's second stabs at its new franchises this gen (U2, Infamous 2, LBP2 to name a few) have been incredible leaps on every front. I hope SCEJ's gems get the same opportunity.

I'm quoting from several pages back here so please forgive me and I hope Leona actually sees this to respond to it. I can see where you are coming from in maybe complaining about gameplay variety with SS as you are essentially doing the same thing from mission to mission but I really don't agree with you at all about the game needing more depth.

The game is plenty deep with the variety of offerings, elements, sigils, black rites, lacrima, branching mission paths, plethora of AI partners and excellent multiplayer mode. Where are you seeing a need for more depth, exactly?

Just bought 32 GB MC for Vita. Should arrive today or tomorrow. Shit better be worth it considering its 80 dollars tag, give or take >:(

Also, want to say this: FUCK Content Manager. Can't believe they make it difficult for legit customers to do things as simple as moving files >:(

Personally I find the Divine/Chaos split a bit shallow (pretty much amounts to only Defense/Attack), not enough unique spells, WAAAY too many filler missions to collect soul shards and kill filler enemies (like three quarters of avalons 1-8), the 'branching paths' is really shallow 're-do this mission every time you want to switch' tedium, and not much longevity beyond farming endlessly for those obscenely rare ++ essences, since the game feeds you max-level spells by the end, there's not much left to obtain..at 70-80 hours I'm going to be done where in Monster Hunter I'd be hitting G rank.

I try to avoid Content Manager as much as possible.

Shit making me stop playing on my Vita because I don't want to be bothered having the need to connecting to the Net just to backup my files :\

Anyways, a question: all I need to do to sync my PSN account with the new MC is just use the MC while logging to the PSN, correct?

Thanks for the speedy response. So, just purchased my Vita, and now I need to wait 4-7 days shipping and processing. And yes, I bought PS+ a few months ago when they had that insane double promotion going on. Good games to go with it is always nice :)

Oh wow! :O

Works for the latest firmware? This thing will not damage my Vita or anything like that, yes?

Yes, I think it's just a patch for Content Manager that disables it going online.

I had to suffer through an internet outage being completely unable to use my Vita at all, because it forces you to login after a reset :x
