yo....fuck. Just read this in it's entirety. Absolutely sickening. I mean, this literally makes me never want to have a child.

IIRC we had a rather lengthy thread on GAF too. A lot of people unaware of Stockholm syndrome said stupid shit in that thread.

This is just scary, imagine being in that situation for 10+ years not knowing what the next day brings. I hope this guy gets all that he deserves and more.

So were they tied up when the guy was out? Did his wife live with him? So much doesn't make sense.

This dude who rescued her is eight shades of hilarious.

"I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms"

smh

I laughed during that interview.

I'm still mindfucked that those girls are alive though. Ten years? Jesus man.

Seriously though, great news that these girls are alive.

Amusing, what was sad is the way he's talking about how he knew him, how the other neighbors knew him and how you would never suspect someone like that.

Holy shit, that interview is awesome. I was laughing so hard despite this awful situation.

"Bro, I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms. Something is wrong here. *nods* Dead giveaway."

Man was blunt. That guy is a hero and deserves a reward.

Amanda Berry, center, reunites with her sister, left, at a Cleveland hospital on Monday, May 6, 2013. / WOIO

I'm guessing the little girl is her kid fathered by the scumbug.

It honestly sounds like the dispatcher just didn't believe her. "We'll get a car there as soon as one is open." and "Talk to the police when they get there." Christ, she just wanted to know it was OVER.

Cant blame them though given the hoax and length of time. It's sad really

That 911 operator was a dick, damn try to be more sympathetic the girl was scared as hell.

They get calls like that all of the time and they have to act like robots on call to keep people calm.

Yeah I thought so too, he almost came off as annoyed towards the end of the call. He probably thought it was a hoax though so can't blame him I guess.

Anyway I'm just happy these girls are free and the guys has been caught. I can't imagine how you can normally integrate back into society after this, they'll probably need years of counselling. Someone should start a kickstarter for these girls.

Didn't know people prank about missing people that just a line not to cross, if so I still think better safe than sorry.

Saw the interview with Charles, and its hard not to laugh the guy is such a character.

My friend's dad is head of some dispatchers. They get fake ass reports or people trying to take back their original call for DV. Not to mention all kinds of violent calls in which bad shit is going down and they have to gather intel while the person is rambling and scared. They tend to sound annoyed and robotic because it's their job to keep prodding for information even while the person is freaking out and not giving them anything to go on. It's their general tone after a while.

lmao that thumbs up in the end

Time's Person of the Year no voting needed.

Even the skinhead looking guy behind him was laughing it up and the reporter gave him a nice approving slap on the chest.

Really . . . watch the interview. It starts out slow but the 2nd half is great.

Charles is amazing! You know what I'm saying?

I've heard other 911 recordings where the operator stays on the line through the whole ordeal, which seems like that would be the best policy in emergency situations. What happens if something goes down between the time the call is disconnected and the police arrive? It might be easier to piece together the situation with constant recording until the situation is diffused or debunked. Why was the operator trying to get her off the phone?

Poor girl sounded scared as fuck that the guy would return any moment, and she had no idea how long the police would take to arrive. The operator did a horrible job of calming her down. Sounded like Amanda really needed that assurance, even if it was just a police operator staying on the other line with her until a physical unit showed up.

Wow...it's like something straight out of Criminal Minds...
...or perhaps Criminal Minds are based on some real cases.

Fact is stranger than fiction indeed.

Great to hear those people are finally found and that they are alright.

Live feed was mostly just a doctor answering questions.

Mostly with "I can't answer that question".

Basically, they're well and talking.

The last question was "Does Amanda know about her mother" talk about... goddamn... no class.

We also need a national holiday so that pretty little white girls can reflect about who they should and shouldn't run to.
What would we call this holiday? Important question.

"Motherfuckin' Charles Day" I think, is on point.

I understand what your saying but towards the end of the call the guy seemed to be dismissive and quick to get off.

That "update" was just cant go into any further detail.

Live feed is terrible. Just constant buffering and skipping for me.

Don't bother. It was terrible. A doctor came out and this happened:

Doctor: "They are in good condition. I can't go into any further, specific details."

Press: "What is their mental condition?"

Doctor: "I can't go into any further, specific details."

Press: "Are their family with them?"

Doctor: "I can't go into any further, specific details."

Press: "Is there any sign of restraint?"

Doctor: "I can't go into any further, specific details."

He litterally repeated that exact phrase to every question asked. They shouldn't even have had him come out to say anything.

Because fake calls tie up the line.

That was the dumbest "press conference" ever. The doctor said one thing and refused to answer any other. They shouldn't even have had him come out.

lol what a waste.

Well that was informative.

"I can't go into specific details"

"I can't go into specific details"

"I can't go into specific details"

Why did the doctor even stay for questions in the first place? Just make a statement and leave.
