Disney settles lawsuit with Gina Carano; promises new roles for her in the future

"The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future."
She actually got the mouse to settle... impressive.

Wow.

Getting a big wig company to publicly admit it's settled and they are praising her while willing to work with her again is a huge corporate defeat.

I wanted to see this lawsuit happen. It felt like discrimination against a conservative and I think she would have won.

It's a crazy win for Carano.

I remember a guy at my old work who got fired and he got back at the company by secretly taping conversations in meeting rooms to prove any claims the company made of him (grounds for dismissal). He knew the new boss hated him and was trying to get rid of him.

He won of course. But part of the agreement, he told me he wanted the company to tape a public apology for constructive dismissal on the kitchen bulletin board for everyone to see. Company basically told him to fuck off and just take the settlement.

So for Disney to take the first foot forward basically admitting defeat and with open arms for re-employment (doesnt even matter if they are genuine or not), it's wild to see. It's rare to see a corporation do a 180 after they got rid of someone.
