Hey... I knew the art style reminded me of something... and that's Scott Pilgrim! Man I just found out that the Art Director for Skullgirls is the one that created Scott Pilgrim.
Jesus Christ, where have I been all this time.
With me, apparently.

Wait a second goddamn it.Guys, Alex Ahad (creator of Skullgirls) is not Bryan Lee O'Mally (creator of Scott Pilgrim).
O'Mally is not involved with the game in any professional way last I checked.
I think Mariel and Persona might have worked on the Scott Pilgrim game though? So there is that.
But that also means no male voting split, which is what hurt Beowulf last time. That's a bad sign- IMO. In an even 4-4 split, not a single dude made it through to the last round. Team chicks outnumbers team dudes (by a lot, more than likely), and with the new voting system, no female voting split will be able to occur so that a dude could slip through.

I also think people are going to be much more focused on singular characters this time, instead of trying to spread their support thin.
I'd hardly say the men were "obliterated", especially since the difference was less than 10 votes between 4th and 5th place.I think female voting split was the reason male characters got as far as they did last time in the first place. There was a much larger pool of female candidates early on, so their supporters were divided, while the male vote was much more focused. When we got to a point where the pro-dude vote lost that advantage in the second to last round, they got obliterated. Yeah Beowulf was close to the top 4- that still means the most popular male got 5th place.
We still don't know this for sure.I'd hardly say the men were "obliterated", especially since the difference was less than 10 votes between 4th and 5th place.
Plus, everyone was completely outclassed by Eliza in the first vote. They said it was already over in the top 8. The remaining seven character were much closer together.
Nah, familiarity doesn't attract people. It may be what keeps them together, but relationships always start from the unknown.I do not know about that, familiarity attracts people quite a bit too.
We still don't know this for sure.
Lead had already opened up in Top 8.Did they state at what point Eliza started becoming the clear frontrunner? My guess is that it wasn't until the last round, and that it happened because the pro-dude crowd, with all their candidates gone, found her the least offensive remaining choice.
I'm not sure how I feel about this.Dragged Black Dahlia to the top.
Dragged Annie to the bottom.
Click.
All we know is that she became the clear frontrunner in the final round and by such a large margin that it was practically decided by day two. Not once was anyone declared that far ahead during the top eight.Did they state at what point Eliza started becoming the clear frontrunner? My guess is that it wasn't until the last round, and that it happened because the pro-dude crowd, with all their candidates gone, found her the least offensive remaining choice.
We just don't know. It could have been any of the ladies. It almost certainly wasn't a male. Things change when all your secondary (aka half of the top 8 for most people) characters are gone. Things get mixed up and weird voting takes place.Well, after round 2 while most of the top 8 were pretty close one had a significant lead over the others so it might be Eliza, especially considering that she took the last round so quickly.
There can't be a team when there can only be one at this point. It's like two people going after one person. You'd be naive to think that the other person will play it fair.I'm not sure how I feel about this.
I thought it was atleast alluded to a huge lead in the top 8 as well, and the two consecutive drawn out votes are a big reason why it was shortened and mixed up for the second vote.
After the second vote is this stuff going to be public? I <3 stats.

So moe.
I can't understand how anyone could actively dislike her. She's this tragic figure who despite being horribly disfigured during war, still decided that she wanted to be useful to her Kingdom and agreed to be grafted with some experimental synthetic parasite. Now she can't have any real physical contact with anyone without putting their lives at risk. Yet she ignores all that and devotes herself to playing the role of a mother figure to the war orphaned kids of Lab 8 who probably wouldn't be accepted anywhere else because of their appearances and "modifications". She understands they need someone. She tries her best despite her appearances. She dislikes engaging in confrontations and abhors what her abilities can do to another human being, but will not run away when her adopted family is in danger.
I think Ileum's a pretty likable character.
Yeah, I remember hearing that there was a clear front runner in Top 8. Then we heard that in the Top 4 one character wound up with 70% of the vote (or something like that). I'm assuming that in both instances they were referring to Eliza.
But yes, IIRC Ravidrath said they'd reveal the votes from Round 1 after Round 2 is over.
Yeah, I know that there's only one spot remaining, but I think the preferential voting system still lends some merit to "teams". I want Annie first and foremost, but I'm cagier on her chances than I'd prefer to be and the more characters that I want in the top ten than ones that I would not, the better. There can't be a team when there can only be one at this point. Your words cut deep.traitor
I hope it's revealed that the cute girls didn't have as massive a lead over all the guy characters as a lot of people here seem to think.

Does anyone actually have a link to Rav (or someone else in the know) stating there was a clear frontrunner during top 8? I've followed the voting pretty closely and I don't remember anything like that, but maybe I missed it.
He did say there was someone who was ahead of the pack, but he didn't detail if it was a crushing or a statistical lock. Everyone else was mostly separated by intervals of fifty votes or less.Does anyone actually have a link to Rav (or someone else in the know) stating there was a clear frontrunner during top 8? This is between Annie/Beowful, I doubt anyone else has a chance

When the top eight round began, Ravid stated that the top two to five were all within fifty votes of each other, but subsequently stressed that first place '[wasn't] far ahead'. Draw your own conclusions about who that front-runner was. I don't know where people are pulling literal percentages, because I don't think Ravid revealed anything along those lines.Does anyone actually have a link to Rav (or someone else in the know) stating there was a clear frontrunner during top 8? I hope you're very wrong about Beowulf. This is between Annie/Beowful, I doubt anyone else has a chance

Besides, I'm damn near sure that Black Dahlia will have a better showing this round.
I hope we get Annie and Umbrella in some day, and they can have an angry Uguu~-off for their intro animation.

Wrestling is awesome ¯\_(ツ_/¯
Is that a goddamn chainsaw attachment? Barring some kind of miracle revelation about Beatrix or Annie, Dahlia's now basically a lock for my top spot.Alex just posted so much awesomeness.

People will keep trying (and failing), but there's only one Skullgirls character who can rock Kamina shades, and it is definitely not Beowulf. Ew.

Pffhahahaha.
Salty Umbrella is a pretty recent thing. They were really swamped trying to keep up with the campaign and now they're in full character creator mode.Umbrella is adorbs
so many levels of adorbs
kinda weird not seeing her super grumpy though lol
