Video Game Championship Wrestling Thread 2: 1000 Years of #THQuality

Yeah, I'm salty, but it was borderline moronic to put barkley in the run when he already has MitB and a lot of more derserving carachters got shafted, like Gaben and RED.

Uh

Preeeetty sure he's in there for his RPG.

I was referring to the fact that Space Jam mashups were a meme long before Babby's First Indie JRPG: So Random and Wacky, and the entire reason anybody liked Barkley pre-needless buff was that they could just say "lol cahos dank!" and listen to funny remixes.

that's pretty much exactly it, grapples and reversals build up tons of meter so barkley just has to sit there and pretty much just automatically reverse everything to unleash a bunch of moves in a row

but hey, space jam!!! that one ytmnd meme from years ago. still funny, right guys? all your baes!!!

Barkley is in because of Shut Up and Jam!: Gaiden (a fantastic comedic fan jrpg)

Not because of some shit tier YTMND epic maymay

Is the only reason I don't hate it 100% only 90%.

I wonder if Bazza is tired of doing this...

I can understand if he feels like that tbh, and the chat does sometimes go over the top with the bile.

Fowever, this does not mean the man is immune to criticism, and what happened tonight was not a well planned night, and it showed on the crowds reaction.

I imagine it's more because we're in the final stretch of the arc. Lots of stuff went down, after all.

Trying not to be salty, since there were tons of great matches regardless, but I almost tasted Groose as the new champ. And it tasted good. :(

I think Barkley as the top heel holding the belt and MitB should be the main storyline for Season 5.

Build up his personality, basically turn him into Hollywood Rock and set up someone like Groose beating him.

It's a fantastic storyline and takes full advantage of the salt Barkley is causing.

I stand by everything I said, I havte Barkley and the decision that was made to get him itno this tournment, but apart from that the work from bazza has been top notch.

Bazza87: People are idiots, they want all there favourites to wrestle and no one else, then they're going to wonder why they get bored of it after 5 minutes because they don't care who wins because everyone is there favourite

.

We'll always have Bryn?

But I hope Bazza cools down a bit. I appreciate what he does, really. And I love VGCW. But he's not doing himself any favours venting about it like this, when these are people he'll never actually talk to or meet.

I really hope Bazza changes his mind. I don't want to live in a VGCW-less world.
I doubt he's being serious about it. He's just crying about it because people are mad that Barkley beat Groose which he honestly should have known was coming when he put in a powerful character who has been champion multiple times and already has a free championship attempt.

Can't he just toggle Barkley's stats down a bit? Right now Barkley is Cena-esque untouchable. Either that or heel him up Dan style.

I mean, I'm not the hugest Barkley fan in the world, but does it really matter that he won? He'll lose it in a few weeks anyway and there will be a new champion, and the plot will go on as it always does anyway. I don't think it's reached Cena levels yet. Maybe if the same thing is happening in 9 years, but right now that's just the way it goes.

Indeed, always brings a smile to my face to know a night is the night. Can't blame Bazza though, staying up past 1am to put on a show (often on a work night) must be draining. I'm currently unemployed so staying up to watch isn't a big deal to me but I don't think I'd be able to do what he does if I was working.

That comment about favorite wrestlers is funny when guys like Bowser and Sabin go missing for months because of Bazza's random pet peeves and other guys are on almost every show

Yeah, there's no way that bazza picks out peoples favorites because I haven't seen Jey Uso or Sabin in the longest time ;_;

Nothing on the internet accurately depicts the thoughts and opinions of the majority of consumers by any stretch of the imagination. The internet is a minority majority party to the extreme. The statistics of it has a lot of different names, the 1% rule, the 80/20 rule, etc. The general gist of it is that the vast majority of people (90%) never even create an account, post, or otherwise contribute beyond consumption. Of those 10% who do create an account, the majority of them only post a few times if at all. A small subset might post with some occasional regularity every week or so (3%), but it's that final 1% who actually create what we might think of as internet culture because they post daily, and they post continuously.

Furthermore, those 1% who do post will have their content skew to the extremes. Much like in real life, people with negative experiences or outlooks tend to be the most vocal because they have the most to gripe about. People who had just slightly negative experiences don't feel it's necessary to make a fuss because "it wasn't that bad", and those who have a positive experience are silently happy and feel no need to communicate their satisfaction. It's only the people whose experience was so completely amazing that will share despite social instincts.

Just look at any Amazon review or fan sub-culture forum/thread, and it's clear that the 1% of people who post, are generally going to be either a "5 star" or "1 star" type person, or at the very least, they're far more vocal/invested than the "3-star" type. Things on the internet inevitably devolve to being either amazing or shitty. People who are content creators have to be ready for that statistical anomaly and have a thick skin, otherwise their self esteem is going to be eroded over time regardless of what the actual consumer reaction is.

After every episode finish there's a lot of apreciation in the comments.

Some people are mad? Is the internet, there will be always stupid remarks. He should know better that his work is well apreciatted. I hope is just the heat of the moment.

Bazza's refusal to use Bowser is probably the most annoying thing to me.

The guy has so many easily written storylines and is an entertaining wrestler and personality. And yet he's never used because Bazza thinks his CAW is shitty when it's really no worse than DK's.
