If only people had bought Viva Piñata and Kameo. Those were great games, but some thought even back then that Microsoft had killed Rare. At least now they are profitable.
I did my part! Hope we see a return of both.If only people had bought Viva Piñata and Kameo. Those were great games, but some thought even back then that Microsoft had killed Rare. At least now they are profitable.
Why are you wearing a man purse?
it is a satchel
Any predictions of surprises at the reveal?

I bought both Vivas and Banjo.
I bought them... great games.
You need to stop posting things you know nothing of. Its looking bad.
Holy shit, this guy's serious.
An open-world Alan Wake game that is more like the early footage where you could go around while it was day time and such would be so cool.It is kind of weird that Remedy were teasing Alan Wake 2 a few months ago and then went completely silent. I wonder if they moved it to Durango and were then bound by a ridiculous NDA and prevented from even posting cryptic poems any more.
It's all good, I would've done PGR2 if I was gonna do it, just know you have the best avatar on GAF ATM.
I really like the avatar idea. I think I might just Xboxify Iron Man though.

Agreed. Kinect sports and Fruit Ninja Kinect are a couple of the only legit Kinect titles that I really got into this gen. What is this nonsense?
For me Rare have released nothing but good games this gen. Yes even the hated on Gaf Kinect Sports.

Oh I didn't follow the development that much and know why they changed it. Now that there are several games that are doing a twist on "prepare in the day for the night" gameplay I just wondered if Alan Wake 2 could also do it.Didn't they say they couldn't find a way to make it fun, though, and that's why they cut out a lot of the free roaming stuff? It can be disappointing when changes like that happen but if it's for those kinds of reasons I tend to trust their decisions.
Last non Kinect game Rare has released: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts- November 11, 2008.
I don't know whether to feel pity for the developers working there or just be happy they still have a job.
Did you feel pity on all those poor Nintendo developers that worked on Wii Sports and Wii Fit?

Search twitter for some developers who work at Remedy and see if they have hinted anything recently. It is kind of weird that Remedy were teasing Alan Wake 2 a few months ago and then went completely silent. I just like walking around in games, so I was a little disappointed in the lack of day time activities.

I really hope there is a sequel to Red Dead next gen.
I hope so too. I still log into the multiplayer from time to time and shoot peoples horses as they ride by. I'm an awful person.
You feel pity for a developer that made games that sold millions?
Do you care what Microsoft has done with Rare?
Chris Seavor: I don't really care about what Microsoft are doing with the company. What I care about is whether or not my old friends who still work there are happy or not. They're the ones I have to sit and listen to in the curry house.
Are they?
Chris Seavor: Some are. Some aren't. It depends. They're content.
That's very diplomatic of you.
Chris Seavor: It is. You see, back in the day, you had a lot more to do because there were a lot fewer people. It was a different atmosphere. Overtime, you just did it. And there was no question about it, because you had to because you had so much work. Whereas now, because it's quite a corporate place, it's all about filling out forms, which completely flies against certainly what I think needs to be done to make a game.
If you've got a team of 150 people fair enough, you do need some management. But if you've got middle management and managers and program managers who are managing two people and there's three program managers, which hypothetically I imagine goes on at places, I don't think that works very well. My last memories of the place are it was heading in that direction. It was getting top heavy.

You're so damn predictable. You're the one who will be sweating at your keyboard on the 21st hoping. You may just post less after the reveal. It's ok to be scared
Well it's my understanding that all fixed function calls like audio are just done on the 360 SoC and/or a couple jaguar cores and/or an ARM CPU (I still don't think it has one)
But I can't say for sure there's not something else

Why are you taking this stuff so seriously? Chill down and let people have fun. We are just talking about videogames man. You're so damn predictable. You're the one who will be sweating at your keyboard on the 21st hoping. You may just post less after the reveal.
my aunt work at Sea World & she over heard a few seals talking about it & you know if the seals can't hold water there is bound to be some leaks.

So with your expectations so low we won't be seeing artist posting negative things on the 21st if he doesn't like what he hears right? Right? I mean if your not expecting much there won't be anything to complain about. At this point in time, I've set my expectations so low that even basic things (no always online, play used games) will be a big announcement for me. Hope MS will blow me away.
Almost less than 9 days now, cant wait.
I was thinking about Kinect 2.0, and about peoples "fears" and what not, with it being included in every box and all...
Here's my logic, with a stand alone peripheral (Kinect 1.0), they HAD to create games and support the damn thing (obviously). There would be no other way to sell the thing.
Am I the only one that thinks that by them including Kinect 2.0 in every box, they wouldn't HAVE to create specific games for it, or create Kinect only titles. The burden wouldn't be there any more. It's included. Instead, we'll see alot of cool and amazing OS level stuff and plenty of "better with Kinect" titles and yes, SOME Kinect only titles. The 21st can't come soon enough.
I hear there is gonna be dolphins at the show can anyone confirm or deny these rumors?

Yup, same here. We got the DS4 leak just a week before right?Hoping for leaks/tweet hints starting tomorrow.
I've mentioned this about five times now, but according to VGLeaks, Kinect is not a focus of the next Xbox. I think people who are 'concerned' about a Kinect focus should be less so.

New Xbox reveal, new Arrested Development season, new Daft Punk album, new Star Trek movie - this month is too good! GOT HYPE!
Look at the city detail they can get from PGR4 when streaming textures. If there are ever system limitations, they can almost always be worked around. Notable exceptions include storage (shouldn't be an issue for either console next gen) and bizarre technical things like the lack of proper shadows on the Saturn (again, there's no evidence that either console will be able to do something the other can't).This is what I'm talking about and Skyrim + 200+ Mods isn't going to be anywhere as efficient or streamlined as a new console open world game.
For the most part 8 GB of RAM would be used as more of a buffer for games to lessen load times and stop texture pop-in rather than a open world pusher.
Look at Forza Horizon 512 MB of RAM and it has 21 km draw distances on a open world map with tons of cars and good AA.
When you can have something like this running on a total of 512 MB of system memory it's hard to hate on even 7 GB of RAM.
