But maybe the raid itself was a hoax, and part of the campaign ! (it reminds me of the movie "Wag the Dog", I was there when we filmed it - a one-tenth scale model on a Hollywood backlot. ).

Seriously though, there are ideas they wouldn't dare spread, even to compensate it with a pleasant surprise. They might try spreading an underestimation of the hardware specs, but not things like "online required" or "no second sale". Because people don't trust them on those topics, even if they promise they won't do it.

There will be buckets and buckets, don't worry. The specs that are out there are not the final specs for sure.

Oh fuck em. The media have continually under estimated Microsoft's ability in the console space.

First they would never release a console... they did and kicked Nintendo out of second place

Then 360 was an Xbox 1.5 and would never keep up... still going.

Then when PS3 came out Xbox would be irrelevant... PS3 still doesn't have feature parity for universal customer sound tracks, universal cross game invites, a party system or cross game chat.

Then kinect wouldn't sell because add ons don't sell systems.... since kinect Xbox has been the top selling system 20 Months + in the USA

Now MS is 'DOOMED' because of an architecture that hasn't even been announced? Do we even need to go there?

Possibly. I think it's really strange that despite all the rumours, speculation and really really negative de-hyping from spec leaks etc Microsoft haven't even flinched in reaction to it all. The thing that happened was someone got fired for putting the company in a negative light.

No debunking, denial whatsoever. MS didn't release a hype trailer like Sony did either. Nothing.

21st could go either way, either a triumphant explosion of megaton reveals. Or a horrificly boring and underwhelming lineup of useless apps, kinect etc. I'm leaning toward the former to be true. They'll blow us away.

The PS4 has turned in to the XBox, sans 360, and the XBox Next has become the PS3, Sony has already won the next war. The reasons for this may not be obvious until the XBox hardware is unveiled, so let’s do a bit of that now.

They seem to have a strict "no comment on rumors" policy, but there were things that looked a lot like controlled leaks when things started to get out of hand.

The hype will really take off after 21st. I'm no insider but I'm pretty sure F2P is going to be huge on the next xbox. I just want to see amazing open world cities and new alan wake and crackdown with a bunch of new ips.
