I agree. I think we will see a noticeable upgrade from the Xbox 360 and that will be fine with me. All this GDDR5 ram stuff is going to be just like the arguments we saw about the Cell. I just want to see some new games and new possibilities.
Kinect 2.0 will also have to demonstrate why we should use it. It can't be just a "oh that's neat" and then just use the controller instead. Voice recognition will also play a bigger role.

Well, it's odd because they just say "seems legit".
If it seemed legit, why didn't they report it earlier? If they didn't know, then why would it "seem legit".
I think it's definitely a possibility, in fact I'm expecting 720 to be BC and have the 360 as a SoC thanks to all the recent ex-IBM hires Microsoft scooped up, but I'm just wondering what exactly seemed legit about it if they didn't have the foggiest clue before?

No. While the Cell was a very capable CPU, it had to make up for the very weak GPU. Such a thing won't be necessary this time, it seems. And then there is the 50% increase in processing power...

I can't wait for these systems to be out and the PS4 people are getting super upset that Nextboxers are having fun even though their graphics don't have perfect raytracing.

I've always got the feeling that VGLeaks never broke any news themselves, it's just someone sitting on their computer reading hundreds of gaming forums, websites, tweets, etc. and posting them as "leaks." That "seems legit" tweet screams unprofessionalism.
I picture in my head someone tweeting a pastebin to ABC News about Obama having an affair or something stupid like that then ABC saying "Seems legit, we're going to run with it." Games "journalism" everyone!

One of the reason 360 multiplats were bought more was due to being better quality. I'd say it has a good amount of matter. I wouldn't worry though i am sure the durango has great specs. There is not going to be a ps2-xbox difference.

As of late VGLeaks posts new from other websites and at the same time they still post their own occasion leaks (Orbis specs, Durango specs, FF XV, ect.).

With the systems rumored to be coming out roughly at the same time, and most likely about the same price, I think it puts greater pressure on Microsoft to actually deliver something different. Either that or they'll have to go head to head with Sony for exclusives. Either way it's positive to me.

They certainly don't bother me because in the end I don't think we'll see much of a difference anyways. Perhaps in 1st party games but at that point we don't buy to compare, we buy because they are only on that system.

The 8 GB GDDR5 did make for some HILARIOUS reading on GameFAQS. Holy shit everyone was a computer engineer over there when it was announced.
In the end though the average person isn't going to notice a difference and games are going to look great on both consoles.

It's not just about how games look, it's about how they load and how much variety there is in NPC interactions.
we do not know this yet because we do not know exactly what MS has in the box to mitigate differences in real world ...Exactly like the hype for cell was compared to Xenos.
I remember in an older podcast by Major Nelson they spoke about this. They were planning on having different noises for different things ie achievements, game invites, friends online, etc but for some reason they couldn't do it.

I hope Microsoft announces 8 GB of GDDR5 next week just so people can finally admit that yes, it actually is a big deal (and to bring ports closer to parity).
Now I have to agree with Spongebob. I don't think anyone will say the GDDR5 is the cure to cancer.
1. CELL is a CPU, Xenos is a GPU.
2. Taking advantage of CELL is quite a bit more difficult than taking advantage of fast RAM (understatement).
3. They have 32MB of ESRAM to mitigate the bandwidth difference.
The loading, sure, but the NPC interactions depend on how much devs CARE about NPC reactions, and how much work they put into it. Sure there's more free space now, but that space could just as easily be filled with a slightly bigger map, slightly more detailed texture, ect.
1. yes of course and xenos' power turned out to be the difference maker (unknown) during all of the Cell hype but no one knew.
Much as it is now when you can not KNOW what you do not know about only on xbox.
