I think the best way to do it is have it work like a normal button push(dead zone) and holding it down beyond this dead zone is like a spring/trigger with sensitivity.

i think the biggest thing people are ignoring about the spec differential is, diminishing returns.
it just might not matter all that much, because 1.2 tf and 1.8tf may not look much different at all.
nothing shown as "next gen" so far, gameplay, has wowed me that much. period. not shadowfall, not bf4, not second son GI screens. hell metro last light pc is just the latest "good, not great" looking high end pc game down the pike imo. to say nothing of crysis 3.
maybe we'll actually see more impressive stuff at the durango reveal ironically, to change my mind.

That's why the PS4 doesn't support it. It's an interesting idea, but hasn't proved very functional.

I hope the the analog face button idea dies. I hated the feature in MSG3 and would sometimes press too hard resulting in undesired actions. just add it to the pile of shit that never should have been introduced in the first place like; sixaxis, move, and kinect.
i really think controllers are going through a evolutionary process right now with the focus being taken away from d-pads and face buttons to sticks, bumpers, triggers and back buttons. the funny thing is that it was the gamers themselves that started to create these things with the custom scene. from extending the sticks and adding back buttons they don't really need to rely on the console manufacturer to make the best design choice.

I'm of two minds about spec difference. On one hand, both consoles having pretty much the same specs is good for multiplat devs. On the other, Microsoft being at a disadvantage there might fuel their need for lots of good exclusives that use their system as well as possible.
When I look back on gaming in this decade, I HOPE that spec differences aren't all I have to tell these two consoles apart.

People like to shit their pants about exclusives, but Microsoft makes boatloads of cash just from third party licensing. Much more money than they'd make if they made a bunch of exclusives that bomb ala Sony. But if the spec advantage is so big that consumers start to notice a huge difference in PS4 and Xbox third party offerings, Microsoft is going to feel that loss of revenue in a big way, and by the time that happens they won't have the first party stuff to make up the difference. So for their sake, they better not be putting out a significantly weaker system.

Its like how people associate COD with Xbox. The FIFA ads are always playstation and PS is a big sponsor of the champions league.
Just like Sony I'm sure MS were in touch with the big third party devs about what they expect from this upcoming gen. In terms of machine internals.
I would find it very weird if MS were to undercook this aspect of their machine.

I really think it depends where you are. UK wise FIFA is heavily associated with Xbox When I go to spain it's all PlayStation. USA I Imagine it's also 360 associated.

The original Xbox had pressure sensitive buttons, DOA3 was the only game to my knowledge that used it, hardly any developers take advantage of this even when it's standard so I do see it as a waste of time, they should invest in the D-pad and build quality instead.

Besides, EU is the largest market iirc for FIFA and PS is the system to go to for it in such a region.
