In the War Thunder thread for the PS4 it sounds like it will have some form of head tracking. I assume that would be possible with Kinect 2, but I was wondering how else Kinect could work with controller games. The first thing that came to mind is leaning. What if you could peek around a corner by actually leaning? I think that would be really cool.

I also hope they have the automatic split screen that the PS4 has. Sit on the left, and your screen is on the left, but move to the right and it automatically switches.

What are some other things they could do to make controller games "better with Kinect"?

- Voice commands
- Put your face in your character, for online modes, even read facial expressions, for example look how your friend's character move the mouth with voice sync.
- Shooters onrails xD

Serious question, not asking this to start a fight or to be a jerk face. I genuinely want to know...

Why are you hyped for this event and for the next xbox, what are you hoping for most out of gaming specifically in the next generation?

Some examples would be, better AI, better physics, more story driven games, free to play, etc.

I am in it more for seeing new tech get announced. :D

I have had some great fun with my 360 over the years but the last 2 have been pretty flat. MS have some great games and developers and I am interested to see what they can show off.

Opening up to F2P would be nice but only if they are more console focused games and not 1000's of Korean Grind MMO's. That stuff can stay on PC. I want to see more developers trying different things.

Heading back towards community content would be my ideal thing. PC tools to make content on consoles. They need to bring that back in a big way.

I miss extreme sports games. I remember getting my OG Xbox with Halo and Dave Mirra on the morning of the launch Christmas. Man, I took my time and ripped a few CDs for custom soundtracks (which was a mindfuck at the time) and played Dave Mirra for around 4 hours before I even tried Halo. Then I had Tony Hawk shortly after I got my launch 360. Such good times.

I miss them so much, as well. Such a shame they peaked for one generation then died a slow death.

Physics and attention to detail.

I can't stand unrealistic static objects in games. If I run into a table in a room I want to see my character react and the table jolt or the items on it rock/fall/roll.

The level of interactivity is so low in some games it annoys me to no end.

I just want to see new hardware and/or IPs.

I think the thing that annoys me is thinking that an object should do something and it does nothing. Really weird to have some stuff and not others.

So many games are going massive open world with nothing really in there. I would rather the scale get smaller and put way more stuff in there to control and play with.

The system that GTA 4 used tried to do this, Euphoria. I had a blast in GTA 4 just making him fall down the stairs, fall into objects, etc. etc.

This might get better traction as its own thread as it sort of deviates and is a good question but not served so well here. I think it would be great to make a new thread and be able to see all the answers folks have.

Im cautiously optimistic cause i feel like MS genuinely took risks for the most-part with their consoles since the first xbox launched and i hope that they continue to try and push the medium forward. Im not a huge Kinect fan for example, but we can't deny that it was risky and they've managed to make it a successful add-on.

The first xbox changed drastically from its launch to its demise and same can be said for 360 right now. Its like a completely new console compared to the launch Dash.

But then again, i hope the next one remains mostly a console for games. So i dunno, im hopeful but then again, this is a MS that charge for online access, so i dunno.

Driving into walls and shooting out of the front glass made me laugh every single time it happened. :D

Great question. I've been gaming since the Atari back when I was a kid. And I think what blew me away way back then was the fact I was interacting with something on the t.v. Not just watching it. I remember wondering as the nes,tg-16,genesis, and so on came about I was interested in the technology that allowed games to become more interactive, better graphics. For instance a game like Mass Effect was truly amazing to me, because what kid didn't watch star wars and want to be like Skywalker. In a game like mass effect u could be your on character, and make decisions that effected the world. (good or bad). I get excited for new console reveals because of the possibilities that new tech brings. What I have been surprised with was Live actually being very important to my gaming. Last Gen I had an o.g. Xbox but never got into Live. But this Gen I can't imagine not having it anymore. It makes even some mediocre games fun with co-op with your friends, just having a blast with your friends.

This thread is winding down so much without information.

yah.

its going to be hard to gain momentum without something juicy.

just give us an abstract shot of part of the hardware or controller... or a bit of the logo... or a leaked screen shot?

Aaron... you know what must be done.

The furnace must be stoked.

This was true then, but at one point the competition will have service thats on par with Live. I mean i love Live. Ive been on it since the beta days on xbox1, but at one point wtf are we paying for when the competition has the same shit, but free-er.

We need another "1.2tf" and it will be "on fire" xD

For real. They need to give us some morsels at this point.

Pretty sure GameTrailers is only behind GameInformer (the magazine, not website) and ign in terms of how many people visit per-day. That being paired with a big ad in the center of the screen on every 360 connected to Live seems like it'll get more than enough eyeballs.

I am sorry to ask, but was the nextbox confirmed to be playable offline? Any update about the whole "used disc" scenario? It's a little hard to follow this thread...

If I've derailed the thread with this then I'm sorry, that was definitely not my intention.

I see ur point however, I'd be surprised if Sony doesn't charge for online next Gen. They kind of made baby steps with Psn#. Ms Is making a ton off live, there no way Sony doesn't try to get some of that. I believe they haven't gone all the way with it yet because it's the middle of the Gen. They wouldn't want to piss off ps3 customers who bought the system at launch, and then right in the middle say hey now you have to pay us. But ps4 is a new system. If what Kaz says is right. (gaming being a piplar for them). I believe they will start charging for things that some of you have been thinking will be free. Just my opinion.

We'll know for certain on the 21st or by E3. It doesn't seem likely that online will be required for many obvious reasons, but there will likely be requirements depending on the activity, I'm sure.

Crow Pie:

1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 Pie crust mixes
2-3 hard-boiled eggs

Stuff the crow. Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.
Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper. Remove meat from bones and set aside.
Prepare pie crusts as directed. (Do not bake)
Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.
Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg. Place crow meat on top. Layer gravy over the crow. Place second pie dough crust over top.
Bake at 450 degrees for 1/2 hour.

Having the reveal in a tent, is the gaming industry's equivalent to Daft Punk launching RAM in Wee Waa

MS just don't need to try as hard as others.

I thought the recipe also called for:
1 Cup of Tears of a Fanboy
1 Gallon of Mountain Dew
2 Tablespoons of crushed doritos
3 Cups of failed thermal paste from PS3s and Xbox 360s
???

Posted this last night, but it got caught in between all of the bickering
or else it just sucks :(
