somebody compare them for me GO

rdio wins because it has bberry client

Apple has been trying to close deals for its own streaming music service, said to be more in the style of Pandora's internet-based radio.
Uhh... no.

Assuming that $8/$10 covers iPhone - take my monies, Googles!

Since Google finally sealed the deal I expect Apple to pull the trigger this summer.

Will there be an iphone app?

almost certainly considering how many apps Google has been updating for iOS

a couple of things I'm wondering are:

- can I add full albums?
- are there apps like Spotify?

I've been really unsatisfied with Spotify's desktop and iPhone apps lately, so I'm almost certainly switching if Apple goes the Pandora route

Just log on to your Google Music account:

I've got the web site working, but does anyone know where I can get the updated phone app? I can't find the apk anywhere

I may jump on this. We will see.

Some major artists have been withholding their tracks from streaming sites lately, which makes me hesitant to commit.

What's the advantage over rdio which is only 5$?

rdio is 10 for mobile.

edit: Rdio and spotify are available in europe.. FUCK OFF google. lick the select territory of MY BALLS.

I don't see the purpose of these services. Can't really stream all day on my phone with a data limit. Can't really stream it at home from the BD player, the app doesn't exits and probably never will. I hope I'm wrong some how, it sounds cool.

They have The Wonder Years? I subbed lol

I don't have a data limit, but I do have limited space on my phone so I like this (I have 2GB free on a 16GB phone.

You can probably stream it to some speakers from your phone via bluetooth, wouldn't want this on my TV speakers.

Do people not like Spotify? Everyone seems pretty excited about this?

Their apps are terrible and I have no idea what they're doing. They announced some cool stuff in December and then half assedly implemented some of them and didn't implement the easiest one (Collections)

I just hate how I have to upload my music. It kills my internet speeds. Why can't it just look at my list and say I have these songs and just match em up like iTunes Match? Signed up for the trial anyway.

Ok I'm checking it out, looks like you can add albums to your library very easily

also there's no iPhone app but you can just go to music.google.com in Safari but it doesn't seem to work very well. Looks like search only searches what you currently have and not their entire collection? weird

e: looking at some random music, seems to be about the same selection as Spotify. There's no user playlists or stuff like that though.

I don't know, I was expecting something more, this seems very basic.

I don't really full understand what these services are. Is this just like Pandora where I say "I like Wu Tang Clan" and then it plays some Wu Tang Clan and other similar to it? Or is this just letting me access all my music on my hard drive anywhere for 10 bucks a month?

No, it has radio, but the big draw (same with Spotify) is that you can listen to music you don't own at any time. Like new albums, search for it and listen to it. No need to own it.

Went to the website but my bank card is listed as an unsupported payment method, presumably because the price is in dollars and I'm in the UK.

I love spotify, it's an overal solid experience. Signed up for google service and will see which one I'll go with. Though I'll admit, the fact that I have my whole music collection plus an unlimited music selection in one app is really a big plus towards google.

It actually does that.

Yeah... that's why I'm wondering why I'm even bothering to have it upload my library.

I've gone from:
  1. Having to own a physical CD.
  2. Getting rid of CDs and buying music online.
  3. Listening mostly to Spotify and buying less music.

Now that I'm uploading all my music to Google, I'm wondering what's the point? I can just pay $7.99 to listen to anything.

Is it just uploading my stuff to be sure I'll have access to the music I own, but that Google doesn't have the rights to?

a lot of music, especially mixtapes and bandcamp releases, isn't on any streaming service
