Google Play Music All Access

Spotify has really been turning shitty lately with their software updates. They just keep making their client worse and worse. I'm not sure why. If they don't get things back on track quick, I will have to start considering other options, monthly fee or no.

This morning spotify seemingly disabled my ability to use an older version of the client. I turn it on, it turns itself back off. So I had to install the new, laggy, feature-drained version that won't let me star whole albums. Now it works fine. Fuckers.

Basically, I am glad to see that this exists.

Well, RIP Spotify, Pandora etc. Now the big boys are coming out to play. I wonder if Amazon can be far behind?

If this has an app where I can sync music to my phone for listening offline (just like Spotify), I'll cancel Spotify if for no other reason than it's $2 cheaper a month.

I've loved Spotify but I've got no loyalty at all.

Wait so its like an entire library of music from all time? Or just new stuff? Like I can pull up The Temptations or Johnny Cash or Duran Duran even if I don't own it?

What's the catch? No Beatles?

Wont let me sign up from Canada :\

“Music on Google Play is currently available in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, United States, and United Kingdom.”

Try before you commit, like I said to me it's a lot more basic and limited than Spotify. They could be working on updating it and releasing apps so who knows

Seems all music for whoever they partnered with, which is Universal and Sony.

I've been using Rhapsody (which no one else seems to use lol) but for potentially $8 vs. $10 a month, having Google's unlimited selection of music as well as your own downloaded library in one spot, and hopefully a faster turnaround for albums since their initial release (example: Taylor Swift's Red album just came out to the services this week even though it was released in October and The Black Keys' 2011 El Camino album is still missing from both) should hopefully sway me to Google.

Just hurry up with that mobile app and offline downloads!

I don't see anywhere to sign up for the trial, is this being slowly sent out worldwide or am I missing something?

Signed into google music and its no different

Okay the web player is really nice, I quickly added a couple albums from the Play Music service to My Library and it worked flawlessly. I think I'm going to cancel Rdio and use this, because before I had to use Rdio for my music I don't own and Google Music for the music I do own. This will integrate that and the new app looks way better than the old one.

Now I just need the Play Music app to update on Android.

Edit: Got it. Wow the app is SOOOO much nicer than the old Play Music app.

So how do I sync this with my current Google Music app on my GNexus? I added a streamed song to my library from my computer but it's not on my phone.

Do I seriously have to add every song from an album individually to my library? I can't add entire albums in one go?

Yes there is, you go to the album you want available offline and hit the pin button up top.

That works, I suppose but I'd like the entire library. Hope they add that.

You can. Just click add to library at the top of the list of songs.

Having your entire library available offline would involve downloading all of it. Don't know about you, but the way I use these services involves adding way more albums than even my 64gb sd card can hold.

Doesn't give me the option. Just add to queue and add to playlist.

Edit: Nevermind. You have to be looking at the artist profile and can't do it from the tracklist itself.

Thank you. Sorry I'm stupid!

No, I don't see that.

The only way I can add entire albums is to add them from the artist page. Not a big deal, they'll fix it!

That's utterly bizarre.

I'm so impressed with this. I'm cancelling Rdio as soon as I go through the library list and make sure I transfer everything I can to All Access.

Might have to say goodbye to Spotify.

My two biggest gripes are that their Android app has no good structure to find the songs that I downloaded and saved, "My Library" per say.

I already have a big library of music saved to Google Music, I been hoping for a locker option but nothing is coming from them.

I use Facebook and I like their functionality, I like the dedicated desktop client and their apps on the client.

This is tough.

spotify is definitely gone if the $7.99 pricing sticks. Is there any info on that? You get $7.99 after the free trial, but then if you cancel and sign back up again, it'll be $9.99?

They really do need an iOS app for this. I'd give them my money now if they had it, but it's hard to justify a subscription for something that I have to access through a browser on my phone when that's the main place I'll use this service.

I was really confused at first but playing around it seems like it's like a "plus" streaming service in that you can add as many albums as you want to your library if you're paying the monthly fee.

WOW

My old Goggle Music app, Melodies, for iOS just worked with this.
I was listening to a music on my PC then added it to my library. Refresh my app's latest music added. The music is in my library

Currently have music unlimited but Ill give this a try too. Still have a bunch of music I uploaded onto google music from like a year ago on there lol.

I'll at least do the free trial. I am constantly annoyed that I have to jump through so many hoops to get my itunes music to play on my droid phone.
