To me the total lack of vita support for gt6 is really suspicious, pholiphony is a first party that made even a gt for psp, i don't think they have completely forgotten about vita...

my thoughts are a 3gb limit on the game size would be poopy for GT anyways (they would likely have to sacrifice graphics or content, and have terrible loading times), so maybe they are waiting for sony to release bigger memory cards so that the game size limit can be raised and they have more room to play with.

even so though I don't get why we aren't getting something like GT Prologue Vita.


Ps: I don't remotely care about the GT games, I would just like to see the million plus vita sales boost that it would bring.

It shouldn't take years to cobble together some tracks, and cars from GT4/GT5 for a Vita game. SCE probably runs Polyphony like they do Naughty Dog, which is to say they can do whatever they want.

Not only is not releasing GT on Vita stupid, it's also stupid for Sony to make their new home console and DriveClub compete with their biggest selling IP on their old ass console, too.

I never expected GT on Vita anyway. Polyphony can barely make a PS3 game with reused PS2 assets fast enough, let alone two games for different platforms at once.

You know what's also really stupid? GT PSP is not even on the Vita store (which is a total bummer because it works marvelously with the two analogue sticks!). You have to use a frickin' PS3 to transfer first party flagship titles even a year in. Why are they so incompetent?

I'm having a problem with my vita's wifi can anyone help me out.

The icon is in the top left stating that I have wifi connection. When I tried to go online with an application/game, it fails to work and i get error messages, despite the wifi icon being in the top left corner.

I then go to the vita's settings. Under internet connect it says the that it is connected fine. I then do an interest connection test. It passes the test with no problems.

Then I return to the previous program I was using and the internet starts working. After 'x' amount of minutes, it stops working and I have to repeat the above process again.

Any ideas? Cheers.

Disable the wifi connection from your router and Vita. Unplug and restart your router.

Do that if this happens again.

the most logical reason to me if there is an app for the vita is because they wanted to wait until e3. The reason for this is they could be aiming for a relaunch of the vita, lower prices, brighter future sort of thing and they want to save bigger announcements for that to make people want to run out and grab a price cut vita.

of course that would require sony to actually promote things well, which rarely happens.

Killzone fans buy Killzone4, not Killzone Mercenary.
GT6 isn't even coming to the Vita.
Tearaway is a new IP nobody knows about.
Indies are nice for the people who already own a Vita, but nobody buys a Vita because of indies, especially not when they're not exclusive and already out on other plattforms.
There is nothing to sell systems with...
And if there isn't something huge coming(huge IP, exclusive, well done) they'll even have a very hard time reaching those 5mil.

A (multiplatform)companion app, even if for gt6, is not what someone would use to relaunch a console.
They should have announced it and then showed it at the e3, the only thing they achieved with their actual policy is more doom & gloom for vita, not a smart move for a relaunch.
As i said imo there's something else in the works(but they should do the companion app anyway), and if it's a game then i hope it's not gt because the inevitable comparison with gt6 would obviously not be at its favor.

Finally join the Vita owner's club last night! Picked up my Vita along with a 32gig memory card with soul sacrifice and persona 4 golden. Oh, and PS+ as well! I downloaded Uncharted: Golden Abyss last night but haven't had a chance to play it. I got sucked into Persona, and wow 4 hours gone just like that. If that's any indication, I am feeling pretty good about my purchase so far!

I have mlb:13 on ps3 so I think I am going to pick up the vita version of that! Any other games I should be looking at now?!

Oh and this is my first handheld since my old gameboy color lol

it is a little sad that they aren't going to bring adventure time to the vita, but well, I will be getting it on either PC or PS3 as it has co op play and it's much easier for me to play co op games on PC or PS3.

either way sony needs to figure out a way to make people want to put games out on the vita, I really can't blame wayforward for skipping the vita, as I doubt they would expect to make much profit from making a vita version.

I may have to eat these words in a month or so, but I don't think the lack of Vita GT announcement is really worthy of the meltdowns. This wasn't a trade show conference, this wasn't an event to announce the full spread of their current line up. It was an event that was specifically about GT6, which is a PS3 exclusive for reasons that probably make far more sense than people in here or in other threads complaining about a lack of PS4 are allowing for.

I don't think sticking our fingers in our ears and trying to pretend the Vita isn't in a difficult situation gets us anywhere, but at the same time I find the constant need of some people in this thread to build up unrealistic expectations of support just so they can wail about and gnash their teeth when it doesn't materialise to be very tiresome. If we come out of E3/ Gamescom/ TGS with little to show on the Vita then by all means wail away, I'll probably be joining you.

Given the franchise history and the way Polyphony works I think expecting them to suddenly produce a cross-platform GT game was unrealistic. They have always been about tapping out as much power from the hardware for each of their games and that sort of specialisation usually comes at the expense of easy portability.

I'll leave this with something that's been stirring in my head for the past few hours. Sony have so far set a pretty big precedent with 1st party PS3/Vita games of cross-buy support, but the games have also so far been much smaller scale and the sort that would benefit from some good publicity, like pro-consumer value. Maybe Sony don't want to do the same with GT6 because they figure it's big enough that they can get away with selling a Vita version separately if they position it as a separate product, even if it does end up reusing code and assets.

I actually have enjoyed my time with the 3ds game, I am expecting the new one to just have some more ideas, and be a bit more polished and have co op play and full voice acting this time and I will be fine with that, I will be there day 1. It likely won't be the best game ever but I should still have a lot of fun with it.

Yes, saves can be transferred. IIRC they just need to go into the correct Content Manager folder and you can copy everything right over.

Meanwhile I'm playing Sound Shapes and I finished the campaign (but I have one album left unplayed, I don't get it). I am playing the school beat samples now and DAMN I'm having too much fun, that's crazy. I used to be a musician so I guess that helps a lot, I wouldn't call that part a "game" to be honest. Reminds me of ten years ago when I had Music 2000 on PS1. I used to replicate FFV -> FFVIII musics on it, horrible midi quality but I loved spending afternoons on it.

Little Deviants, Escape Plan, Lego Batman, Ben 10, Rayman origins, Thomas was Alone. I haven't played them (apart from Thomas) but they look very children-orientated and accessible.

I'd just buy a cheap used 3DS myself. Last time I looked there was one for $100 with a bunch of downloaded games on eBay, which is far cheaper than replacing a non-clamshell broken Vita. /imo

Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery! It's a Layton clone but it's so sweet. It just came out and it's very cheap, but I must admit the puzzles aren't easy as those in the Layton series, lol.
