VGCW May 15, 2013 Final Results
-- MATCH #1: M. Bison defeated Guile
-- PLOT: Dan and Kefka reveal that Dracula did not die in the explosion. Dracula comes out and announces that The Drac Pack is not weakened by the loss of Vegeta. He claims he has an "ace up his sleeve".
-- MATCH #2: Wario Ware Inc. (Wario & Waluigi) defeated Dream Teamcast (Ryo Hazuki & Segata Sanshiro)
-- PLOT: Gabe Newell meets up with Adam Jensen backstage to discuss the potential "Safety Valve" tag team, but Jensen blows him off again.
-- MATCH #3: Captain Falcon defeated Scorpion in a Falls Count Anywhere match to become #1 Contender to the VGCW Casual Championship
-- MATCH #4: Barret Wallace defeated Geno in a Steel Cage match
-- PLOT: VGCW Champion Charles Barkley came out to completely berate the fans for their response to his title victory.
-- MATCH #5: Mike Haggar defeated Kazuya Mishima in an Extreme Rules match
-- PLOT: GameCenter FU is backstage preparing for their upcoming VGCW Co-Op Championship match against Gerudo Skies
-- MATCH #6: Groose defeated Kefka, Flint, Adam Jensen, Dr. Wily, and The Pyro in a Six-Man Battle Royal to become #1 Contender to the VGCW Championship
-- MATCH #7: VGCW Co-Op Champions Gerudo Skies (Zangief & Ganondorf) defeated GameCenter FU (Chief Arino & The Angry Video Game Nerd) to retain the titles
-- PLOT: Backstage, Mr. Satan suggests to Solid Snake that now is the time to strike now that The Drac Pack is down one member. Snake disagrees, saying it's obvious Dracula has someone else planned. He said he has acquired a fourth person to join them in the fight. Suddenly, a limousine pulls up and out comes LITTLE MAC!

I found it funny that once he turned face he got run over.

(Why did people hate him again? I want to say it was cause of a Royal Rumble but that might be someone else...)

Beat a hard working Snake coming in last during a Royal Rumble, jobbed to Ganon immediately afterwards
Soviet Screwjob, Mac gets the briefcase in a rematch after Gief got it the first time because of Baz's mandate
Rigged guest ref match
Mac appeared in plot as Baz's corporate minion

because Gief got "screwed" in that MITB match and Mac won the re-do, and then he turned corporate heel

Zangief actually carried most of the Tag Team match for his team. He deserves credit for that. When he first tagged in though, it seems like the AVGN still wanted to fight Ganon, and kept ignoring Zangief for a while.

We also seriously need a Wario and Segata rivalry out of their match. They were gunning for each other hard at times there.

I am going to have to say that I wasn't very impressed by Barkley's speech. It was too clearly Bazza using him as a mouthpiece to vent his frustrations. The speech itself reveals a fundamental contradiction: Bazza did take Ganondorf and Gaben out of rotation for most of this season, and it worked. All of the heat around Ganondorf has died down, and people are back to wanting to see more of him. Bazza clearly did that intentionally for those two, but didn't do so for Barkley, who was receiving the same kind of heat, at the same time, for the same reasons.

To be honest, it seems that Bazza is being a tad too partial towards Barkley. It is fine for him to have wrestlers he likes, but it is unreasonable for him to expect everyone else to like those same wrestlers. He really can't expect everyone to share his opinions.

If he really wants to reduce the amount of heat that Barkley is taking, his best option is to break up what kinds of matches Barkley is in. Lately, it seems like Barkley has been in nothing but matches that directly lead to the championship, and is in practically every one of those. He needs something else to do. In his current state, it doesn't really feel like he is having to earn any chance to be a contender, certainly not like how Barret had to come in second place in a Rumble, fight a handicap match, and win a four-way to just get a crack at the Casual belt.

If he loses his championship belt, he needs to fight in some exhibition matches, find a tag-team partner and chase after that belt, or get involved in a story-line or something. Something to do so he can take an occasional break from championship contender matches.

from a writing perspective the speech works well in a lot of ways: it gives barkley personality, it's consistent to his shut up and jam character, barkley acts arrogant and foul mouthed and exaggerates his record and his arguments quite a bit to make people mad...

but it feels like it can't really go anywhere plotwise because it was a fourth wall breaking moment - unless every time barkley talks to someone from now on the crowd gets brought up.

You know it wasn't a story setup, it was Bazza venting his frustration from last week. If it's between Bazza using one of the characters to do this or him stopping to put these on because it's no more fun for him, I'll take the former any day.

That said, he did well to kinda make it fit as a WWE-inspired stunt with CM Punk having done something similar in the past. :D

Hmm apparently Ash wasn't the complete jobber I remembered him as. When he beat Guile for the belt he had a perfectly average 50/50 win/loss ratio.

Of course after his evolution that percentage has shot up about 25% more, but 50% is nothing to sneeze at. That's Wily/Bison tier
