Are we ever going to play Mahvel, Karst?
That's cool.
I forgot to mention it, but grabs are pretty much the same way thanks to macros so you can have 1 button grabs AND air dashes just like in Mahvel. It's common sense once you know about the macros, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Haven't you seen me posting in the Dragon's Crown threads? ;-)
I try to stay out of there because of dumb criticism. I know I've seen Q sharing his rationality in there a few times.
I've watched and played plenty of GG, haha. Though when I played it, I wasn't any good. MvC3 is my first "serious" fighting game.
I just had to link that video. BlazBlue and MvC3 were my first serious forays, but I'm weird in my fighting game consumption. Some games I play can't be watched too often and other classics are like liquid crack to me. My GG bookmark folder is like ten times the size of everything else except maybe VSav.

The video I linked is the +R version. Seems like they actually made GG even more fun to watch than before.

I swear, Lee Chung is just a soundboard of himself at this point.

Edit: Ha HA!

I get confused as to what he's talking about sometimes.... apart from the eternal 'wet sausage'
how to get it wet, why it needs to be wet, how everyone wants to get it wet, who you'd like to make it wet, etc

"Please pass the peas- ha HA!"

"Here you go, ASS-hole"

"Stupid!"

Sometimes I wish Makotos U2 didnt have the animation of starting from the top of the street. Rather it be a instant air only U2 with the ability to cross up.

Just a Tizoc-like roundup of videos.

Guilty Gear AC+R
Exhibition match between Woshige's Millia and Satou's Johnny. Two prominent players of GG and they're both also qualified for the Arc Revolution Cup. Woshige had won the tournament prior to this exhibition with his beastly play and he continues to show how strong he is in this FT10. Satou's olive green Johnny is no slouch he gets put into the Millia vortex. These exhibitions are one of my favourite parts of the footage a-cho puts out.

Some casual matches featuring some Arc Revo Cup qualified players which includes Ruu (Bridget), Kedako (May), Satou (Johnny) and Rozu (Ky). Ruu goes on a ~30 minute streak in the second link. The first link has pretty funny Sol player Koro going ham.

BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma
I'm not too familiar with BB players as much but I see some familiar names like Tsujikawa, N-Otoko and Matoi (who are also qualified for Arc Revo) in these lengthy sets of casuals.

An exhibition match between Raku Chan's Len and solty/luckystar's Nero. Despite being not that knowledgable on the game it's always fun for me to watch and these long sets make a good showcase of skill and character strength/match up.

Arcana Heart 3 Love Max!!!
With the new update that was released on the 8th, a bunch of footage is starting to come along. The update involved balance changes, new special moves, system changes as well as returning stages/music from past and graphical changes to the hud. Similarly to the Arc Cup, Examu's doing a their own national tournament in Japan for Love Max in the summer. It should be something to look forward to for fans of the game.

That might be a bit much... I'd like it if you could choose the distance later in the animation though, like when she's actually on the wall. That would also make it a bit easier to line up crossups (right now you pretty much need a specific setup).

I didn't know you had the game installed. ;-)

How does today or tomorrow sound? I have to head off to work for a few hours, but I'll be back in the evening.

I'm cool with two-button grabs. I'm a tick throw maniac in Street Fighter.

I dig. Will you be getting the PS3 version?

I watched some of it, and I'm not well-versed enough in GG to tell the differences. When I played GG, I was super scrubby and spammed projectiles with Dizzy, Testament, and Ino. In fact, my entire gameplay style has been "spam projectiles" since Street Fighter II. It's only in Marvel that I've started to learn how to play fighting games on a deeper level. All that spam pays off in Street Fighter IV still, though. ;-)

I played a little of BBCS:EX last night. For less than an hour, so not enough to judge the gameplay yet. I have to say that I really dig the game's visual style and soundtrack. The hi res 2d sprites and backgrounds look fantastic.

I got to Taokaka's 5th or 6th mission, and all I could think was: "Why do I have to super jump cancel this 6A combo starter? Why can't I just jump cancel it?". (The combo doesn't work if you only jump cancel it...)

Don't mind my bitching folks, I'll give more coherent impressions once I've played the game for more than 45 minutes.

Short version of DacidBro's response

FGTV was stressful for David when he was there. He was working, going to accelerated school, little sleep, etc. Dude was promised money from Champ. During he time there he made alot of connects and what not. When it was done they didn't get paid what they thought and he got no $$$. Sohe was pissed at the fact his hardwork resulted in no money.

In hindsight he respects FGTV and Fchamp for what their doing for the FGC. He's also thankful the notice he brief stint there got him. On the stream he was venting how internet whispers always keep bring it up. So he put the above out there to let people know. After that full explanation his stream is done for today. Damn it you're a good man David!

EXCELLENT. Thanks!

Everyone hop on the real talk express and meet back tomorrow

I've noticed that there's lots of drama in the fgc that seems to be made out of nothing, its a bunch of seventh grade level bullshit.

IMO quitting your job so you can help out a community where you're also told you will get paid but then you don't get paid for seems like something a bit more serious than your usual "is it a major?" drama.

And if he's getting harassed by FGTV monsters on twitter, people he knows IRL etc. could just make his crap situation even worse. Dude just needs to vent, and at least he acknowledges he is partially at fault for being shortsighted.

I'm curious if FChamp will acknowledge this, let alone seriously.

FChamp has been saying "fuck the anime community" on his stream a lot lately. Don't know if that's related to this.

Remember when players told ChrisG that he should "go back to his Capcom games" because "this is our community" or some nonsense?

I remember Jiyuna and Dacidbro lighting people up for that, good times.

Thanks a bunch for the writeups. I'm especially hyped to watch more of Satou's mediterranean Johnny. Dude was sick in the video I linked to Karsticles. Can't wait for Arc Revo!

I installed it and all my other PS3 games after I noticed that I didn't install UMvC3 for my match with Solune a few days ago. Every single game is ready to to. We'll see about playing tonight. My old man is heading out to DR tomorrow and I gotta wake up early to help him out with some stuff.

Who knows what my next sixteen hours will look like thanks to Salty Cupcakes and Nintendo Direct.
I'm cool with two-button grabs. I'm a tick throw maniac in Street Fighter.
I don't like one button grabs much. Two buttons is better for ticks to me too.
I dig. Will you be getting the PS3 version?
Maybe, but probably not soon. I've got a lifetime's worth of backlogged games and I'm ultra down on buying games with the lack of BC on the PS4.

I don't even own Revengeance yet. I'm so sorry, Platinum! ;_;

I don't even play GG at a mid level and I can see the improvements. No way Johnny would be steamrolling the way he is in AC+ lol. Really, that video was more for fun than education.

Also, screw spam to hell. I play Makoto and trying to reach Edgeward's Sagat is a chore. Feels so gooood when I do get all up in his grill though lol.
FChamp has been saying "fuck the anime community" on his stream a lot lately. Don't know if that's related to this.
Dude

He has been saying this kind of stuff since last year lol. I just chalked it up to trolling.

Flatbush Zombies' Juice: I love playing Sabretooth in Marvel vs. Capcom.

In before "who?"

They largely suck
