Nintendo Direct 5/17 4PM CEST, 7AM PST, focus on First Party Wii U Summer Titles

I still think that the best thing for Nintendo to do is something they should have done years ago. Give NoA and NoE some leeway and independence and allow them to have dev teams/small & medium sized studios set up in EU and US.

It wouldn't hurt to have smaller studios that are given more control in US/EU even if they are perhaps more restricted in IP use (it may spawn some much needed new IPs anyways)... but you can't forget hardware is a big part of this issue as well. Price certainly needs to drop if they want people to invest in the system, even if it does cut into their bottom lines a bit more than they'd like. $200 would be a sweet spot, but it'll only work BEFORE the PS4-720s out. If there isn't a cut before then, they won't ever get any attention and they'll be DoA.

They need to get someone like Howard Lincoln to get third party support, he was very good at getting Western support (reasons while people called the N64 the Xbox of that generation), someone even said EA was threatening to not support the N64 (EA loves pulling support) but Howard Lincoln convinced them not too.

And since Iwata is now the CEO of NOA we still haven't seen what his changes will be, hopefully Iwata doesn't pretend that there isn't a problem and fixes it.

Nintendo will have to pull a Sony and fix the Wii U, with that I mean turn around the Wii U because the PS3 was in the same situation years ago, Actvision was threatening to pull support, Valve HATED the PS3, Nintendo fix your self and the Wii U.

Figured I'd ask here as it's the most happenin' Nintendo topic on the board at the moment.

Was wondering if someone with a wii u could make me a nintendo id and pm the log in? I really want to read some stuff on miiverse but sadly no Wii U to set up an ID.

IIRC, NOA now has a small production arm for things...I think they worked on TVii.

Not much, but it's a start.

Every time I read New Zelda in a Nintendo PR I get excited for half a second before realizing they mean Wind Waker HD.

If only they could get a game like Rayman Legends out earlier. NCL could add one or two more titles to it, drop the price of all the current crop of titles to respectable prices' and then drop the WiiU price tag...

On the other hand, if it feels like it will drag on for too long, chasing after EA, then perhaps they should concentrate their efforts on the ones that still show a glimmer of interest.

Could definitely do with more. Easy said than done, of course, but it'll help out immensely.

I don't think Nintendo will give up trying to get EA back on their side, but things will need to be changed for Nintendo to do that.

Nintendo's been saying that they want to get into partnerships and expand publishing, so I think Nintendo will try to do that, and hopefully succeeds in the end, if Nintendo money hats third party games like Bayonetta 2 and Wonederful 101 but bigger, than Nintendo really wouldn't have to worry about EA support, I do think they will need Fifa and Star Wars though, I don't think not getting the next Mass Effect or Dragon Age will harm them, even though it is sad.

Edit: After hearing about Pokemon 3DS X Color news, I think it's time for Nintendo to bring out the big one, an Pokemon RPG on Wii U.

TVii, for me so far, has been a terrible and useless app. It is so incredibly slow, and doesn't actually provide any meaningful significance seeing as I don't have DVR.

Hype, hype, hypeadelphia

I hear it's always hyped in hypedelphia, but it's not like you can just put on a pair of hype pants in the morning and drive your hype-brid car to the hype station and take the hype train on over to hypeadelphia where hype grows on trees and the air is 99% hype.

Can someone put the "Only on Playstation" along the bottom of my current avatar? I guess if someone can find a place for "Only for Nintendo" then try that too (not outside the box please)... not required though.

Sorry to ask this request in a Nintendo thread :p

Well, I wish Iwata all the best. He's going to need all the luck he can get, but I'm hoping it all turns out well for him. And a Pokemon game for the WiiU would be great. Pokemon handheld style game + Pokemon Stadium + Pokemon Snap would be glorious.
