Sold my TF2 cards to get the remaining Don't Starve, did my crafting (lol failed), and got the Birds/Bees/Dogs Wallpaper and

Hit level 10, and I've got 1 Portal drop, and 3 Half-Life drops to get.
 
That's pretty lame if it is true that you have to buy stuff in order to even get cards in Dota. It doesn't show up on my badge screen at all, so it's either that or the issue just hasn't been fixed yet. I'm still pretty confused on the whole thing.

Ugh yeah, I shouldn't have done another level for TF2. Instead of hitting 10, I'm still at 9.
 
I really hope this new trading card metagame leads to them doing actual fun things for sales in the future. Last years sales were so sad compared to previous years.
 
So, how am I supposed to get enough cards to form a badge without buying cards? I mean, it's not like I have any spare cards I could trade.

Or can I farm cards again once I traded them away?

You trade duplicates, or cards from games that you don't care about getting the badge for.

The badge having five levels basically means you buy them, if you ever would want to complete that

It's actually a genius system to force people to actually buy things (and more importantly create demand for people to sell things). That said, with the way things are dropping, in another week, you might be able to buy all the cards you want for 3 cents a pop.

I joined the Trading Cards Group yesterday, and there was already around 130,000 members when I joined. I still haven't gotten my invite yet; should I have gotten one by now?
 
Sold my beta invites for peanuts because the price was stuck at ~$0.50, and the next wave of invites will be in a few hours.

I suggest selling them if you have them while they're worth more than $0.03.

oh wait i think I was wrong? you just gain 100 xp when u upgrade the badge. the 200 xp besides my second tf2 badge only means the total xp I have earned so far (1st + 2nd)
 
Just seen this in the FAQ

Can I upgrade my game badge?
If you gather another complete set of trading cards you can upgrade that game badge. You can craft a set for a game at most five times. Each time you upgrade the game badge you'll get an extra 100XP, as well as upgrading the image and title of the badge.

So either it's badly worded, or when it says 200XP or 400XP, it's just showing the accumulated amount? Kinda stupid.

Can someone clarify before I craft my final TF2 badge? :L

Yes its just saying that badge was worth 100x# xp since you dont get separate badges for each stage

Same. Had enough to get the background I wanted.

I started off with 1.60.

Bought 3 beta passes with that.

Used one. Sold one for 2.00. Held the other one. Prices dropped bought 3 more. gave them away to friends. Sold the remaining ones and bought a background. Now I'm at .29 cents. That was fun.
 
Just hit level 10. The showcase is a really cool little feature. I like the UI, it's so easy to use and modify.

I have a duplicate emoticon, anyone have the same/something else they wanna swap for it?

Same here, bought an idea and I can't see it on my badge page :(

I'm looking for IDF card & Anarchist and I have a spare FBI one to trade, or Portal 2 or TF2 ones :)

I've got two GlaDOS' and an Intro (both Portal 2) that I'm willing to trade for any Dota card that isn't Riki, Tidehunter, or Tiny. One for one.

I crafted a game badge but didnt get the community achievement. Its still greyed out.

edit: same as profile background. Didnt get achievement.
 
at level 20 the ring around the number turns to a yellowish color. I wonder if this adds anything, such as level 10 adding a chance at finding foils.

just noticed that the achievements the Achievement showcase displays are the rarest ones (if you hover over them it will tell you the %

too bad it doesnt seem to be completely working, I cant click the "+number" to see all of my achievements sorted by rarity
 
This seems like a good thread to ask, since you guys are probably crafting those badges, but can anyone spare a coupon for Evoland? I want to buy a friend a birthday gift.

I don't have anything to trade atm, except a bunch of other coupons and a Vengeful Spirit wallpaper which is unmarketable (it cannot be listed on the Market for some reason).

Do you need to be a certain level for the showcase to show up?
