I don't know about some fanatic Nintendo fans, But I sure as hell don't have some form of blind love for Nintendo. I just happen to enjoy the majority of games created by Nintendo, and I happen to think they are still one of the best developers in the industry (and looking at the review rate for Nintendo titles, I'm obviously a consumer of reasonable intelligence hardy har har). I'm getting really tired of this "coo coo for cocca puffs" mindset towards people liking stuff that you don't. Stop trying to act like you are somehow better then someone else and try to realize that different people like different things (who would of thunk it).

Going third-party would also cut operating expenses by a huge amount: It may be a sensible option, supporting ailing hardware isn't necessarily the best course of action. That's why not every publisher is selling their own console platform.

But after cutting operating expenses it would most likely shrink the company by a huge margin and would require them to take less risks. Not every publisher is selling their own console platform because it is VERY unlikely to ensure a profit that would be successful and pay back those operation costs. It is incredibly hard to succeed in the console business. Nintendo is profiting and paying back those costs at the moment, so I would call that succeeding.
