As far as anyone knows, the drops do not reset. At all. For Free to Play games (TF2, DOTA2), you can get multiple cards, at the rate of 1 card for every $9 spent. Standard "It's only beta, things can change" disclaimer applies.

You are not expected to complete every badge for every game you get cards from. You're expected to trade away cards from games you're meh on for cards from games you love.

With a full set of cards you can craft a badge. Crafting a badge nets you a badge for your profile, an emoticon, a background, and sometimes a coupon. The badge itself isn't sellable, but the emoticon and background are. Problem is most backgrounds and emoticons are worth less than the cards themselves.

Is this confirmed? I was planning on buying a Dota announcer which is about 8 euros, might add something to make it 10 euros to be sure I guess.

thanks, i was expecting a reset afer beta or reset after a year/x months, or something.

All I know is what's in the FAQ

What about free to play games like Team Fortress 2 or Dota 2?
Free to play games drop game cards based on your in-game purchasing history. If you've made purchases in-game prior to the Steam Trading Card Beta, or if you purchased TF2 prior to the Free to Play Update, you'll have 4 or 5 drops available for these games. You'll receive more card drops when you buy items in game, approximately one card drop for every $9 USD spent.

Valve is likely using Beta in that "It's really a feature release, but calling it a beta gives us an excuse if there's bugs" way. Given people can and are spending money on cards under the idea they don't reset....

Tell me, how much trade value do coupons have regarding cards?

Say a 50% off X game, how many cards would one expect to get for it, assuming it's a decent game or something.

btw just confirmed this, opened the achievement windows for TF2 and GO and got a bunch of cards.

This way you can just open all the games you need and get the cards at once without running the actual games

Does buying the backpack upgrade a free TF2 account to a full version? If so I predict a big drop in the price of TF2 cards. You can get 5 cards for a $0.99. (and resell the backpack extender) Right now cards are hovering at $0.50 each.
 
So the trade server I was idling on had I guess around 100 pallet of crates being opened. So many crates. It just wont end. Drowning in crates.

Didn't work for me. Does the game need to be installed?
 
Got Respite and G-Man so far, it will be interesting to see what Valve does with these in the future.

Got the rest of my HL2 drops

Now I can stop caring unless DOTA2 magically starts working for me

Hopefully this plays a big part in the summer sale
 
What's the point of showing what cards your friends have? Most people aren't going to trade if they only have a single one. They should only show those who have duplicates.

Just to confirm, you can upgrade DOTA from beta to full version (card giving) just by buying a $0.50 item from the ingame marketplace? Once they get the bug fixed of course.

wait did you open CS:GO achievements from SAM? I just had Portal 2 and TF2 open while playing DOTA 2 and I got the cards

It will upgrade to a premium account like TF2. If you right click on the game and check the DLC you will see a premium DLC like for TF2. The game will still be a beta lol

As long as you buy something you will get upgraded. To get more drops after the first 4 you need to spend about 9$ for one drop.
