EA Sports Engineer: Wii U is crap, < powerful than 360. No $ 3party. [Tweets Deleted]

I would fire him from EA for the idea that Nintendo should go 3rd party. Last thing EA needs now is more competition on this market, struggling as it is.

Then you should see my point. There are a certain type of people that engage in heated discussions about a video game company. Being a fanboy isn't some horrible personal insult. You can be a fanboy and still have an adult discussion without calling names.

If you take it personally, that's on you. Fanboyish behavior will get one labeled as such however.

Yep, it's real fanboy behavior to think that Wii has a game lineup equal to or better than the original black and white Gameboy.

What kind of discussion about gaming happens between "non-fanboys", then? Sorry but some people are bound to agree with the decisions of Sony/Nintendo/MS/etc. and some are bound to disagree. And that's stuff that can be discussed. It's not inherently blind or fanboy-ish.

We're going in circles. If you can't see the fanboy behavior in this thread and countless others on GAF then I can't help you.

I think at this point you are arguing for the sake of arguing and that is tiresome.

Fanboys exist, sorry if that offends you, but they do. They are in this thread in massive quantities. I don't intend to respond to you anymore unless you wish to discuss Nintendo and their strategies.

Thanks for the laughter GAF! And from this employee at EA... I really hope this decision pays off at the end for EA or this will finish as a bloodbath at the end...

They definitely sell better than most third party stuff, but the same could be said for Halo on Xbox and stuff like Uncharted for Sony. However, not every game is destined to be a million + seller, and I think sometimes companies forget that. Capcom, for instance, was unhappy with Zack and Wiki's sales (a brand new IP no less) despite surpassing 300,000.

Now imagine you're EA making games during the past generation. You can make HD sports games on 360 and PS3, but you can't port those to the Wii because it can't handle them. So not only do you need to build a game differently for the controller, but you also have to use different (lower quality) assets.

The same thing is happening with the Wii U. It's just not worth it for them.
So essentially they do not feel the investment is worth the payoff and they're likely preparing for the next consoles from MS & Sony? Gotcha.

If that's the case, then he's an idiot. He made very public, very inflammatory comments about a major console manufacturer in an industry full of contempt for said manufacturer. If he didn't expect for it to turn ugly, he needs to get slapped with a trout. Hell, he should be slapped with a trout anyway.

Well, Nintendo is owed some scorn over how badly they've botched the Wii U launch. It gets to be a bit much around here, but whatever, that's what GAF is. There is a reason the games industry thinks of GAF the same way most of the country thinks of Urban Detroit.

Because super conservative Nintendo decided to play it safe and meet the minimum bar set by their competitors instead of going above and beyond like they should have.

They were completely obsessed over the idea of the tablet thinking it would be a major draw, and decided to throw the entire fate of the system on that one aspect which funnily enough 99% of people don't give a shit about. (just like the 3D was for 3DS)

This is an example of a good post by someone with a nintendo avatar for those in this thread that think I'm singling them out. I agree with this 100%.

We're going in circles because you're missing the point, maybe willingly.

"Fanboys exist so I'll ignore posts from people with ______ avatars".

You are the one who brought this in the first place, lol. But it's okay if you don't want to respond anymore.

Why is he a hater though? Not liking Nintendos strategy for the past decade or so doesn't make you a hater. I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but I'm not going to blindly defend a bad business strategy and a complete lack of games for mediocre consoles.

It is what it is.

Would you say that it's let's powerful than a 360 when we have seen games like Need for Speed?

So, question:

why doesn't someone like him protect his tweets so that us outsiders can't see them in the first place?

When he first tweeted his comments, he only had 40 followers and no one followed him from EA that I could see. Do we even know if the guy was legit, or held the position he claimed to hold?

On one hand, I don't agree with the firing. Nothing he said was untrue.

On the other hand, his firing does reinforce the idea that GAF is powerful enough to get people fired.

Yesssss.... more blood for the blood gods

Man you'd think with how Twitter has been publically known to cause havoc on people's jobs, you'd think they'd stay away from it.
