It's not about paranoia, differing or bad opinions, it's basically thread hijacking. Thankfully this thread is fine but how do you expect decent discussion to take place when every 3 posts are crappy (not even funny) kinect jokes ect?
hence most xbox fans end up staying away from the .... xbox news threads.

I think there was a fair amount of good discussion. It's a short-fused conversation so it's not like I expect a lot of deep discussion (it's basically all speculation). I think Famousmortimer delivered some pretty good predictions/news items and I think a few people put in expectations! Only so many posts can Reiko make!
I can't ban people for being unfunny, unoriginal, or uninteresting (how I would like to) and I think complaining about Kinect or hoping things are not Kinect-based is not totally off the farm. Yet.
(I haven't read the entire thread so there could easily be shitty posters I'll find later).

Most of the posts in that thread are people proclaiming there will be crow and salt and other such crap, those kind of posts are as intolerable as the ones you claim to be 'hijacking' it. There's a weird kind of paranoia festering in these threads where people seem to feel persecuted for no reason at all, just relax, not everyone has an agenda.
It's better just to chat about the upcoming event than peoples reactions to it, don't you think?

Fair enough, I didn't stay in the thread long enough. I don't want anyone banned I'm just fed up of people not even remotely interested posting crap.
Edit: It's not about persecution, paranoia ect, my beef is with crappy discussion and threads being ruined. People can hate on MS all they like (and sometimes with good reason) just do it in a civilized way and not 'lol kinect' x 50

true but that was completely the backlash from the Kinect trolling etc that is simply to piss others off...as it is hard to discuss the topic... MS promised a ton of games including exclusive announcements will surprise come E3... nobody said anything about Kinect on the referenced podcast (at least regarding game reveals) and yet that was all some wanted to try and bring the topic down with

Almost every thread became dominated by James Sawyer Ford, Takuya, UpTJBoogie, RedNumberFive, onQ123 (though he has toned down recently) amidst others constantly having the same cyclical bash fest- it has become so ridiculous that sometimes we have to hold discussions in other completely non related threads or PM
Any idea how tiring "kinect!", "no games", "not focusing on games", etcetera gets when it's polluting discussion CONSTANTLY?
It's just been a constant dogpile lacking in any constructive discussion

That's true, but there is precedent to criticize MS about Kinect stuff, and GAF is pretty known to be quite cynical about most things - try going into any Square Enix thread for example and it will be full of FFXIII slanders and whatnot.
The problem with some of the Xbox threads are replies like this, imo
This sort of snarky, persecuted response is worse than the offending posts because it's creating this stupid 'us vs them' divide. People will dogpile on MS until MS prove their criticisms wrong - painting large swathes of GAF as 'them' as though they have an agenda is not good for discussion at all.
