I would fucking drop dead if MS somehow pulls a Battletoads game out of their ass. Highly unlikely, but I've been waiting for that shit since Battletoads and Double Dragon.

Is there a roundup post of all current rumours at this point and or speculation? Sorry to be an ass and not read 143 pages.
FWIW I'm a big Sony person, really adore my PS3 and found most 360 exclusives quite un-interesting. HOWEVER, I'm not counting MS out of the realm of consideration here. The PS4 sounds great but it'd be silly to ignore Microsofts offering if it's got something really compelling.

I will say, that project / concept illumiroom thing was goddamned awesome. I don't have the space for it :( but god damn that is almost game change level awesome and would be something I'd consider investigating.

It is absolutely absurd that a game as great as Phantom Dust didn't get the attention it deserved, and to make it worse you can't play it online because ms shut down the original Xbox love.

Look at what you're quoting, it's talking about 10kRPM SCSI drives in the thing. Whoever wrote that was either cracking up as they wrote it or have no idea what kind of technical hardware they are talking about.

I'd bet good, solid money that it's complete rubbish - I am absoloutely 100% sure of it.

Well at least we're honest! - what about those old speculation posts from over 6 months ago?
Similar to PS4 architecture, slower but more memory (until Sony doubled theirs last minute)
3gb of RAM for the dashboard / "backend features" or something.

Is that what we're still thinking at this point?
P.S Sony still haven't officially confirmed region free gaming on the PS4 for me yet - which was the one thing which took me from being an idiot pirate on the generation before, to being an owner of a pretty decent collection of games! Does anyone know if Sony have done this yet?
 
Never got a chance to play Chromehounds but almost everyone who was involved with it's community seemed to adore it. Maybe a sequel or something for the nextbox?

I can't speak on the technical side of things but I'll echo what the previous poster said in that we really haven't had any rumors of what's to come. MS has kept a pretty leak proof ship up to this point, and I think the complete unknown is helping the hype. :)

I think you're missing something here, "can only afford one console" doesn't always mean money. Time is a precious resource as we get older.
I'm in my mid 30's now - money isn't really an issue and I'm not married or with a girlfriend and my time is limited. How the hell can your average gamer afford the TIME not the money, to know what games are best to play, on both platforms?

Bear in mind too, the entire gaming industry has pretty much messed with gamers so much in the last 5 years that to just buy a console and a game is now almost 'dumb' - it's unfortunate but you need to know which damned edition to buy, where to buy it from, WHEN to buy it, which store has the better price but will still honor blah blah deal (and so on and so forth)
Being an educated gamer is a huge investment of time. "Do I actually want the new <xx> game? This article says it's looking better than the previous game but this podcast tells me that they really fucked up <zz>"

I owned both consoles of the current generation and found that the exclusives for one of them just weren't my cup of tea (I got my fix on the PC for those types of games) - so I sold the less used console and stuck to one. Sure this limited my options significantly but I figured that if it doesn't come to my chosen platform (or PC) well... I'm just going to have to miss out.
It means one less second hand console to sell or take space in a cupboard in 18 months time, it means less cable mess behind the TV, it means a heck of a lot less internet research.

It's limiting and some would say closed minded - I actually genuinely find it liberating, I've cut off the limb, it's gone - it's done and I've enjoyed the experience - I intend to stick with this 1 console policy in future, hence :

Long story short, I'm here to see if MS has what it takes to make me choose them next round as my single, only platform.
 
Not sure if it's been talked about, but MS already has their Live Event app up and counting down until the live event. It was the big tile on the dashboard when I booted up my 360.

The preview video they have is nothing though. 5 minutes of a static image. Psh.

3 days, 10 hours, 32 minutes. :)

Wait for the reveal and then their E3 presentation. From what you've said this thread clearly doesn't offer what you're looking for as of right now.

I suspect this thread does not offer what I want for sure! I just thought I'd jump in this afternoon to get a rough idea if anything was known yet.

Seriously, I'd switch from PS3 to X720 for illumiroom, I'd just straight up do it. Good lord.

With the exception of a few GIF's, nothing even remotely clever came out of the Kaz thread.

These "only on Xbox" avatars weren't designed to be clever or obscure either, obviously. They were designed to show some pride for your own console-of-choice.

Gonna be tough to top the PS4 reveal thread for the PS Meeting IMO but that also had the benefit of being the first next gen reveal. Those Kaz GIFS were legendary.

We need more Ballmer pics!
 
Soul Reaver is long dead and irrelevant, but I'd love for it to make a return. Such rich characters and lore.
 
Guys...listen to Major Nelson Radio new episode. At 15:34 mark Major says INFINITY really loudly and then you can hear snickering in the background. It sounded like a clue to people listening if you ask me...they were talking about Infinity Ward BUT the way he said it was so weird - he says 'Infinity' really loudly then 'Ward' quite quietly. Interesting.

I know it's been said millions of times, but I'd love to see RARE start making games like they did back in the day. A New Battletoads, Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, Banjo, or Conker...

Even if they were XBLA games I would be all over that. Just give me something that's a tad different from what's on the market. Not everything needs to be triple-A!
