Xbox One has Bluray drive, 8GB ram, 8 core CPU 500GB HDD, 3 Operating systems

The most powerful console has NEVER won a generation. Ever.

From what info we have right now there is no telling which way this will go. GAF has never been a good barometer on mass consumers' interests and what drives intent to purchase. That certainly didn't change today.

so if xbox1 sells more for using kinect as a tvguide its instantly a better gaming console.... :)

also ps4 is more powerful but also simpler to program. there is a difference now

Well I am not a techi but 5 billion transistors sounds a lot if you start looking around what hardware they can have. Well, they can count in more than the CPU and the GPU but what can these numbers be for the other stuff. GTX 680 has 3.5 billions transistors. A medium PC CPU 1.5 billon transistors or maybe lower. Plus the Xbox one will have power from the cloud. Help me

Problem is 1.6 billion of them are just for the EDram to help make up the difference with the PS4's GDDR5. Then you have the 8 core CPU with 4 megs of cache in that number. There is a reason they would not talk details today. It is clear the Xbox one is a lot weaker than the PS4. If it was not they would of talked up specifics today instead they hid behind generic numbers and trailers.

What dark area of your body did you pull that info from?

The Xbox One tech talks elucidated us on the facts of the One's GPU - from what I heard there, 1,2 TFLOPS are pretty much official at this point: And according to these statements, the posters assertions are true and 50% more raw GPU power is what the PS4 will have over the One in addition to a much better memory system.

If what I've been reading regarding the installation of games off the disc being mandatory, that 500GB is going to be used up fast.

I doubt that will translate into huge differences in games though.

Are you really so childish as to resort to inferring such an illogical conclusion from my post?

I simply stated it's not just about power or just simplicity. Look at the original Xbox. PS2 was technically inferior and difficult on which to develop. There are far more variables, obviously, so I don't see what you're getting at by oversimplifying the argument.

all they confirmed is the 12 CU nothing more.
But it is save to say the VG leaks are on the spot.
Would love if they clocked the GPU 1Ghz.

7 gigs of ram vs 5 gigs of ram alone will make huge difference in games. That does not account for the huge 50% difference in GPU. MS would not talk numbers for a reason because they don't want to say the truth the PS4 out classes it in every way possible.

What a jerk. $10 isn't even that big of a deal. I guess it's admitting you were wrong that's the hard part.

I don't even want the $10 at this point. I told him he could donate it to charity. I just want someone, for once, to admit they were wrong on a video game forum.

It's like trying to pull teeth, haha.

I'm waiting for him to log on just to tell you that he directed that bet at me solely. Just watch...one day.

- Both have 8 core Jaguar X86 CPU [lowpowered ahitecture aimed at ultrabook-grade laptops].

- PS4 has 8 gigs of GDDR5 ram, Xbox One has 8 gigs of DDR3 ram that is 3x slower than GDDR5. To offset that, XO GPU has 32megs of onboard cache that is 60% faster than DDR3.

- PS4 GPU is 50% more powerful at same clock speeds, and there is a very high chance that PS4 OS will require less processing power/ram to work.

All in all, XB has more complicated architecture, with slower hardware, and beefier OS. Sony clearly aimed to create GAME console, MS aimed to create cheaper ENTERTAINMENT box.

Thanks, this is what I came in here for.

Isn't sharing DDR3 with graphics and the CPU in 2013 kind of slow?

I thought it would have its own dedicated GPU complete with its own memory.

That is underwhelming
That's why it has embedded memory on the chip, to partially mitigate the low external memory bandwidth (and that's also where the large transistor count comes from).

Which console is more powerful, the PS4 or the XOne?

I will base my purchase based on this information.

The PS4 is about 50% more powerful if rumours remain true, which so far they all have. I'm guessing it is still 1.2tflops vs 1.84tflops. Plus 8GB DDR3 (3GB reserved for OS) plus 32mb Esram with the Xbox One vs 8GB GDDR5 (1GB reserved for OS) with the PS4. The PS4 has a major ram advantage, with approximately 3x more memory bandwidth. How it will all translate in to games remains to be seen.

the british guy at the hardware session with nelson said the GPU can do a max of 768ops per second, and one of them said something about 32mb esram and move engines, and ram has has speed of 200gb/s

they even said the xbox one has tech similar to data server and supercomputers

I am very disappointed with the xbox one is underpowered.MS could have built a monster and instead presented a WiiU 2.
I hope the new IP of Remedy come soon on PC confine it to a console with a GPU of 1.2 Tflops would be just a waste.
The only possibility for MS at this point is to focus on a very low price and amaze at E3 with many exclusive.

Durante, please simplify everything for the masses... Unless you already have, in which case I apologize.

They're adding the DDR3 and ESRAM bandwidth and rounding up to 200.

Beautiful summary.

After being disappointed with this for a while, I'm okay with this if it brings multi-threaded 64bit executables to multiplatform games on the PC.

I'm just finding it hard to care anymore.

With its media capabilties and dvr functions I doubt its gonna be cheap, it doesnt look cheap nonetheless.
