The most powerful console has NEVER won a generation. Ever.
From what info we have right now there is no telling which way this will go. GAF has never been a good barometer on mass consumers' interests and what drives intent to purchase. That certainly didn't change today.
Well I am not a techi but 5 billion transistors sounds a lot if you start looking around what hardware they can have. Well, they can count in more than the CPU and the GPU but what can these numbers be for the other stuff. GTX 680 has 3.5 billions transistors. A medium PC CPU 1.5 billon transistors or maybe lower. Plus the Xbox one will have power from the cloud. Help me
What dark area of your body did you pull that info from?
The Xbox One tech talks elucidated us on the facts of the One's GPU - from what I heard there, 1,2 TFLOPS are pretty much official at this point: And according to these statements, the posters assertions are true and 50% more raw GPU power is what the PS4 will have over the One in addition to a much better memory system.
so if xbox1 sells more for using kinect as a tvguide its instantly a better gaming console....
also ps4 is more powerful but also simpler to program. there is a difference now

Ok that is pretty good !!! hahahahhahahaha
I doubt that will translate into huge differences in games though.

Welp, the next Xbox is weaker than the PS4. I guess the 3GB reserved for the OS is most likely true as well.
Given the size of the console, I think we can safely say they have given up on the japanese market.lol
Everything shows they clearly given up Japan and maybe Europe.
Which console is more powerful, the PS4 or the XOne?
I will base my purchase based on this information.

their bid for europe was that exclusive mode for FIFA but i dunno if that's enough

Were the $10 paid?
Were the $10 paid?
Hell no. But the mods (specifically Y2Kev) have told me they have my back and will address it if Gies tries to come back.
What a jerk. $10 isn't even that big of a deal. I guess it's admitting you were wrong that's the hard part.

Is that 5GB DDR3 also being used for graphics?
I don't even want the $10 at this point. I told him he could donate it to charity. I just want someone, for once, to admit they were wrong on a video game forum.
It's like trying to pull teeth, haha.
Isn't sharing DDR3 with graphics and the CPU in 2013 kind of slow?Yes, unified memory, so CPU and GPU use the same pool.
Isn't using DDR3 in 2013 kind of slow?
That is underwhelming
- Both have 8 core Jaguar X86 CPU [lowpowered ahitecture aimed at ultrabook-grade laptops].
- PS4 has 8 gigs of GDDR5 ram, Xbox One has 8 gigs of DDR3 ram that is 3x slower than GDDR5. To offset that, XO GPU has 32megs of onboard cache that is 60% faster than DDR3.
- PS4 GPU is 50% more powerful at same clock speeds, and there is a very high chance that PS4 OS will require less processing power/ram to work.
All in all, XB has more complicated architecture, with slower hardware, and beefier OS. Sony clearly aimed to create GAME console, MS aimed to create cheaper ENTERTAINMENT box.
That's why it has embedded memory on the chip, to partially mitigate the low external memory bandwidth (and that's also where the large transistor count comes from).Isn't sharing DDR3 with graphics and the CPU in 2013 kind of slow?
I thought it would have its own dedicated GPU complete with its own memory.
That is underwhelming

all they confirmed is the 12 CU nothing more.
But it is save to say the VG leaks are on the spot.
Would love if they clocked the GPU 1Ghz.
they even said the xbox one has tech similar to data server and supercomputers
Do they really need 3 OS? That 3GB spared for OS is likely true as well then?

They're adding the DDR3 and ESRAM bandwidth and rounding up to 200.the british guy at the hardware session with nelson said the GPU can do a max of 768ops per second, and one of them said something about 32mb esram and move engines, and ram has has speed of 200gb/s

Durante, please simplify everything for the masses... Unless you already have, in which case I apologize.
I tried the other way around a while back: help "the masses" understand specs talk.Durante, please simplify everything for the masses... Unless you already have, in which case I apologize.
That also works. You plug the console into the wall socket, electricity is then converted to graphics by the Xbox One.

With 8 GBs of RAM in both machines 64 bit executables should become standard quite fast. After being disappointed with this for a while, I'm okay with this if it brings multi-threaded 64bit executables to multiplatform games on the PC.
I am very disappointed with the xbox one is underpowered.MS could have built a monster and instead presented a WiiU 2.
I hope the new IP of Remedy come soon on PC confine it to a console with a GPU of 1.2 Tflops would be just a waste.
The only possibility for MS at this point is to focus on a very low price and amaze at E3 with many exclusive.
With its media capabilties and dvr functions I doubt its gonna be cheap, it doesnt look cheap nonetheless.
