Can you point to some?

Full disclosue, I *have* read the books and therefore mostly refrain from posting here, and *nothing* about stuff outside the show.

Edit: never mind, I just easily found an example myself. Yes, pathetic.

Did you PM a mod?

Book readers who are NOT being jerks should be on patrol. They'd be able to tell whether someone is genuinely speculating or """"""speculating""""""" when they make comments.

If they've posted in the book and spoiler threads before, that'd be a good sign.

Another good sign is whether someone makes a comment that uses oddly specific wording that makes no contextual sense at the time. I.e. Robb Stark is really losing his head in this war. We know now that obviously means the Karstarks, but still...

It's not a witch hunt, it's stopping people from deliberately being assholes.

Yeah, as a book reader I primarily scan this thread looking for nogoodniks and PM ThoseDeafMutes if I see anything suspicious. He probably is sick of me. :(

Oh man, that makes me want to speculate something. I don't wanna say it in case people think I read the books. D:

Yes, making the joy of females everywhere... :'(

Eh? We've seen both full frontal in this show, and other shows. And it just happens that there's a fuckton more full frontal female nudity than male (and these females all happen to be gorgeous and perfectly groomed, whereas the males were all unattractive). Frankly, it's a bit annoying.

Female full frontal is never nearly as graphic as male full frontal -- it's almost always completely covered by pubic hair. I mentioned this in the other thread, but a good example is Loras' squire friend: we get a full frontal with his legs spread wide open. You will never see a shot like that with a female.

It's kind of how it works. Vaginas are easier to obscure naturally while penises are more difficult. If you're showing full frontal male it's almost always as graphic as it's going to get save for an extreme close up.
For example in the Melisandre's scene, they cut away multiple times, as for not to show the bastard's junk, which was distracting for me, because it's not like they usually shy away from such details.
They purposely didn't show Melisandre's crotch as well. It was always hidden by some object or by the camera angle.

The last episode was so good, almost no bad scenes. That new character, the final scene, it was incredible.

I couldn't stand the previous three episodes, I either love an episode or I almost want to skip through it.. strange. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just a quick nitpick. Edmure Tully is Catelyn's brother and Robb's uncle. :)
Eh, not sure what was I thinking. Yes, thanks.

Which reminds me: if Robb dies or gets sick due to the curse, the northern rebellion would be pretty much done, as Catelyn has been labeled as traitor. I sort of have a theory about what may happen (which is tied with my general pet theory), based on something it constantly bugs me when seeing those brief HBO cast interview's commercials, but will wait in case it becomes true.

I've been waiting for this. Should be crazy now with the missing hand.
Both Cersei and Tyrion seems to be eagerly waiting for his return. Can't even fathom what kind of face they will put, when find out that he is no longer the man they once knew (physically and in terms of ideology).

At this point, Jaime is expected to prevent Cersei's wedding, AND liberate Sansa AND help Brianne. All while not being seen as a disposable cripple in the eyes of his father. Good luck with that..

I'm curios to see how much it's changed (if at all). You could sorta see the old Jaime appear when he was having dinner with Bolton. The cynic in me wouldn't be surprised if the old Jaime comes back the second he enters King's Landing.

Am I the only one who thought Tyrion was acting drunk and would be completely sober once he got to his room? I don't know why I was thinking that. I don't fully understand what joffery was porposing, a public rape of Sansa?

No. Just him raping her. While the Kingsguard hold her down so she can't struggle.

I want to kick him in his face.

Also, no, you weren't the only one. I fully expecte him to just be faking for the benefit of the crowd, but I guess he really was smashed.

I kind of felt he was playing up his drunkenness. He was, no doubt about it, pretty hammered but after he snapped at Joffrey I thought he realised he'd made a big mistake and acted worse off than he was in order to get them both the hell out of there as quick as he could.

Rickon will be the new King in the North. He will crush the Lannisters like nuts.

There was that threat of rape, yes. But I think what Javaman meant is the bedding ceremony, which is uh, kind of a hazing ritual for newly weds. When Tyrion refuses to participate in it Joffrey says, "come on uncle where's your sense of tradition?". This tradition hasn't been explained much, or at all, in the show but I can PM you book details if you'd like (no spoilers, just exposition).

I think people were thinking he was playing up his drunkenness because they like the Tyrion character and wanted him to keep outsmarting everyone.

The idea that he'd be genuinely miserable and powerless here isn't a positive one that people like to see, so yeah, their minds almost WANT to imagine things are better for him.

It's a pretty common practice is real medieval history, so the writers might have thought didn't think they had to explain it.

Exactly. In his mind Tyrion doesn't feel much better than Sansa does. He just gives less fucks and can therefore act out on his misery.

I think it's pretty clear that he (Tyrion) is just doing what daddy wants him to and that is even more evident with his exchange with Tywinn at the wedding and the fact that he was still ready to bed Sansa until he was alone with her and realized how much she didn't want to.

"I won't bed you until you want me to." Might not be verbatim, but he obviously realizes that he is in this for better or worse and has no control of the situation.

Yeah, that was it. I'll pass on the info though, thanks!

It's more he DOES find her attractive but desperately doesn't want to say it. Especially as he feels, despite what the culture says, that she's too young. So he's struggling with his desire to sleep with hot girls versus his morality that she's really a child still. That night was when he finally decided, "I hate myself for doing the right thing" and realized he just can't do that to her.

That's why he quoted the Night's Watch oath: Now my watch begins. He's resigned himself to being miserable and chaste for the greater good, in this case the greater good being poor Sansa's happiness.

Anyone else for a second notice the worry in Tywin's eyes and voice when Joffrey gets incredulous at Tyrion for what he said?

It's one thing to slap the hell out of him in public, but everyone who's anyone was at that wedding and if Joffrey was stupid enough, he could have had Tyrion killed there for threatening the king and Tywin couldn't have done a single thing.

And on a related note above I also thought Tyrion was faking all that drunkenness and that he'd be sober once the bedroom door closed. He was just acting drunk so people wouldn't bother him too much or try and force him to have sex or blame him for not sleeping with her etc.

Tywin was definitely a bit worried that this could finally be it, the moment when Joffrey loses any fear of reprisal and Tyrion dies. Tywin knows that Tyrion is smarter than that, but he's completely drunk, so...

I disagree. It's pretty clear in the show that he not only doesn't want this marriage, but that he is also uncomfortable with it. The "She's a child" quote repeats a lot and has a lot of relevance to this story line.

That's the point. It's clear he DOES think of her as a child while at the same time she's pretty--his denials were protesting a bit too much, especially when everyone around him was saying how beautiful she was and how they'd do her too. Even Tyrion himself said so a while back and got in trouble with Shae when trying to backtrack.

"She's pretty hot! I mean, uh, not that I want her or anything, totally not interested at all, really, guys, I'm not."

Nothing that Tyrion has done in the show makes me think that he is in the least bit attracted to Sansa. All of his actions make me think that he doesn't want his father to know that he is dating a whore. He isn't attracted to Sansa at all. I know their have been very subtle messages but that is not something I've read.

It's been made pretty clear that Tyrion has a genuine compassion for Sansa. I don't think he's fighting any sort of attraction at all.

Oh, and we now have people afraid to post genuine speculation lest they be snitched on by the book patrol. Great.

I really recommend everyone watch those Bluray extras with the back story. They're really good.

Them combined with last week's episode have made me really root for Stannis the Mannis.

Similar with the fury in Tywin's eyes when Joffrey takes the steps during the wedding. I think Tywin is very well aware of the threat Joffrey poses to any of his plans.

Oh yeah, look how one look shut up the onlookers laughing. I had high hopes for that meeting between them. He told Cersei he'd rein him in, but at this point, I don't know if anyone can stop this Mad King Jr.

So why did Stannis mentioned Greyjoy in that ritual? I guess he still holds a grudge about his little rebellion after Robert became king?
He was naming all the people Stannis considers false kings, and Balon crowned himself King of the Iron Isles.
