Animal Crossing: New Leaf comes out in a month.

Maybe one should hold out of FC then until the game is, I donno, a month old. Then you'll start to work out who's going to be sticking with it or not.

On the topic of town-editing, messing around with the town layout in CF by editing the save was pretty neat. You could make all sorts of weird landscape nightmares. I still have some screenshots of the weird things I made.

Seems I'm getting a physical copy instead since I've never owned an AC game before. Question for many of you who have siblings/parents/others that might play, would my 55+ year old mother be into this stuff?

She really enjoys watching me sometimes play the Sims for example, and enjoys other casual games like Bejeweled. She REALLY wants to join my brother and I in Wii Bowling, but I'm worried about a "learning curve" if any in AC.

This is probably one of the best games you could get her in that regard, as long as she understands the basics of controlling with the 3DS. There's no learning curve and you can play at your own pace.

It's kind of hard to watch someone else play a portable game, isn't it? You guys might enjoy City Folk on Wii more for these purposes. I think your mom might be more into that if she's already familiar with the Wii.

Also what? I'm in the same boat as Sats now?
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
Who wants to be my Animal Crossing GIRLFRIEND :3

:3
Worry not, you aren't in the same boat! Sats is on the Dinghy with Kapp'n way out in the middle of the sea, presumably chloroforming him because the witnesses will be minimal (except for those damn Coelacanths), and you are at the edge of the shore peering through your telescope at the silhouette of the madness, debating on wether or not you should inform Booker.

I'm giving you too hard of a time though, because after watching all of these Treehouse videos I've decided that my new celebrity crush is Reiko Ninomiya.

With these friendlist woes, does anyone know if you can join a friend of a friend's town?

Like your friend goes to another guys town, joining them in that town.

So your favourite villager is Coco then?

I had Coco in my Wild World town. I even got her portrait. In fact, I got a lot of portraits for ladies because I was such a stud. My favorite however, was Pecan.

I was hoping to get her again in City Folk, and even found her in the city, but she never came. Instead, I got Marina.

So uh. What's your time zone?

EST.

I work all morning/day, so I may either be setting the ordinance to have shops open later, or always keep my clock set a few hours earlier so I can get stuff done in the evenings. But I'll have to see how it goes when I start.

K, thank you very much.

I'll also include GAF history of posts (a number at least) so you'll know which is a lurker and who's dedicated to respond on GAF in case of problems or no response of the adds. This could help curb a possible notorious grieving that could happen later on.

Electroplankton is included with GAF, because I recognize him lol. He's just banned unfortunately. :) So he's safe to add. :D

Don't forget to keep on using the spreadsheet! I'll update FROM that spreadsheet! :)

She'll do just fine, as Smithnco said. My mum is around the same age, and she had no trouble jumping right in with Wild World and City Folk, most she plays is casual iOS games and stuff like Professor Layton and the occasional jrpg.

Speaking of which, I think everyone in my family is going to have a copy. Some local fun on top of running around with gaffers!

This thread is making me jealous! I've put hundred of hours into WW. That game had a fantastic online community and judging by this thread, NL will as well. I can't wait for the 9th!

Thanks a ton for doing this!

Thanks for the responses everyone, I've been attempting to get my mother off the couch and going for walks, and she found out the 3DS has a pedometer which would make her even more happy.

Hell, maybe my father would even like this game too due to his love of gardening.

Semi-related, do you have a 360? Viva Pinata is a great gardening game. Actually, there's a DS version, too. But the 360/PC one is pretty.

Actually when I'm sitting down at the table before dinner, she'll walk up behind me and watch me play maybe Super Mario 3D land and ask questions about the 3DS and stuff.

Speaking as someone who at one time carried a pedometer—my favorite was made by Nintendo, even! the Personal Trainer: Walking pedometer is the best one I've ever used—the 3DS makes for one hell of a bulky pedometer. It's clearly designed for something other than fitness. But if you've got the pocket space, hey.

Don't worry, I'm a gardener myself so I understand your concern very much! :3
It just occurred to me that it would be pretty incredible if I could actually build garden fences and gates. I can't, can I :(

In spinning off-topic, if a workout can earn a certain amount of coins or whatever, they can unlock outfits or new workouts, and whatnot.

Back to Animal Crossing though, the music in past AC games is just great. Makes for driving to work a pleasant experience.

Got any links to some good stuff?

I love this one. Brings me back to a simpler time
A time when everyone had a Pokémon Mini, and everyone left it at their friend's house… that theme really is sorely missed.

Does New Leaf have a new theme? Or is it the same from Wild World on?

The first K.K. tune I ever heard was K.K. Samba and I'm really partial to it. The thing is I much prefer the K.K. version to the radio version, which isn't nearly as good.
