Quantum Break screenshots (Remedy, Xbox One) and info

ALAN WAKE $5 ON XBOX LIVE RIGHT NOW. IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE TRAILER WAS GO PLAY A REMEDY GAME FOR ON THE CHEAP AND YOU WILL GET IT (SORT OF). Night Springs

also This game was built exclusively for Xbox One, said in the press release. Published by MS

Also, I find it funny that everyone says Xbox needs more new exclusive IPs, but everyone in here is bitching that this isn't AW2.

How on earth does this sound like Watch_Dogs?

Anyway, sounds great in theory.

Probably this bit since it sounds familiar and like something I'd hear from a Ubisoft rep about Watch_Dogs

before time literally runs out. As time breaks down, impossible, split second moments of destruction turn into epic stages of time powered action. The actions you take, and the choices you make, shape your experience as the narrative unfolds.

May sound weird to some - but it's Remedy so I am on board :)
Would have loved an Alan Wake 2, but this is even better as I think we need new IP's and new game ideas.

I think Remedy is going for the Quantic Dream audience in here. Much like Beyond, I have no idea how this game plays. TPS maybe?

Nice touch with the butterfly made out of shards on the left.

If you told me it was on the 360, I would believe it.

Show me 360 games that look as good.

Anyway, is this an episodic affair?

a revolutionary entertainment experience that weaves the cinematic action of intense gameplay with the tension and drama of scripted television, creating a world where each has a direct impact on the other.

Sounds like it might be...

Guys, we did not see the forest for the trees:
I know that something amazing is coming, that something wonderful is going to happen, and at the same time I know that when it does, it will be something totally different from what I’m expecting, something I could never have imagined. And I know it might take a long time before it does happen, but no matter how long it takes, I’ll be here, waiting.

pretty good deal. also alan wake american nightmare for 320msp.

"Blurring the lines of TV and games" reminds me of that horrid early-1990s FMV era of video games that would use live-action as a gameplay backdrop.

It's like Heroes meets Beauty and the Beast meets Defiance.

I wonder if this is a start of a new trend of broadening the audience by producing IPs interconnected on two fronts.

I thought the combat in Alan Wake was pretty abysmal. Can we have a character without asthma this time please?

On the flip side, it was pretty incredible for me. The dodge mechanic was a little overtaxing and wasn't as snappy as I'd like but American Nightmare pretty much did everything so much better. Remedy hasn't disappointed me yet.

I have very little faith in video game developer's ability to create a genuinely engaging story, so hopefully there's a lot more to this than just some fancy ideas about 'interactivity' being played out

My best guess about the gameplay, based on the mere seconds of footage, is that the levels will be a series of setpieces that are epic disasters frozen in time. The gameplay might just be pure action shootbang, but I won't be surprised if is an investigative/puzzle solving element. Maybe the game is even mostly non-shooting, so that the whole family can enjoy it!

edti: actually, reading the description in the OP more carefully, maybe the gameplay really is more like The Walking Dead, and maybe no shootbang at all.

A good idea, I guess, but the execution of the TV part is crucial and it didn't look very good at first glance.

Not Alan Wake 2. Not impressed.

New IP, instantly dismissed becuase not a sequel. Industry still doomed next gen.

I think this looks really good!
Though it feels a bit like another 'exclusive pissing contest'

MS: Okay, Sony, I see your "Beyond" game... now check out our Beyon---err, I mean, Quantum game! We have character-driven new IP too!
