You unlock the stationary option when you've sent 5 swapnotes, I think. Then it's a matter of people sending them to you or receiving them from Spotpass.
You can send people old swapnotes, and it will be timestamped from when they originally made it.

Put in my Amazon pre-order. Wild World was my entry point into the franchise so many years ago, and its release was a major reason that I bought a DS in the first place. Reading up on New Leaf, it's been fun seeing how much they've added and changed. I'm sure this will be a frequently-used cartridge in my 3DS library.
I'm a little oblivious to what everyone means by this. x)

Okay spindashing, I'm sure you want to go adding everyone on the whim but you should be aware that we had a troll or two that kept deleting the spreadsheet data over and over which even lead to 2 versions of it. Both of them can be updated but its still open to anyone to mess with it. Hence my doing a read only and asking for actual confirmation on their FC. Lord knows we don't want anyone to actually friend with the wrong dude on that was input wrong on purpose for some twisted reason.
You should also be aware that we also have 5 lurkers. They're all possible Gaffers. There's absolutely nothing wrong with adding them for whatever in your fancy really. But for ACNL's outside of Dream World, grieving can happen in a lot of ways. First they can dig up holes behind a tree and trap you. Or they could cut down your trees and steal your native fruits. They can also run over your flowers that can wilt sooner than later or pick them which is quite damaging on a gardener who's trying to cross bred flowers out of a harsh RNG algorithm. So please... don't do that.
And of course, if anyone tries to pull shit, we'll immediately chastise you on that list.

That list is relatively new though... There was an older list a while back that had detailed accounts of members not responding to pms or not sharing accurate info or straight up ripping them off. Its a clean cut way of settling accounts that could lead to a ban. I of course don't think ACNL GAF could go that far but when exchanging rare items... lol.
