STORY OVERVIEW
Eorzea. A land embraced by Gods and forged by Heroes.

Seeking control of this realm and its abundant crystal resources, the Garlean Empire sends forth a massive host on a campaign to conquer its southern neighbour. Driven by madness, the commander of the invading forces silently plots to tear the moon from the heavens and hurl it down upon the land. The people of the realm soon learn of this foul scheme and join their hands in prayer in an eleventh-hour attempt to entreat the aid of the gods, only to see their endeavours fail. From within the moon emerges Bahamut, an ancient terror seething with rage fuelled by countless generations of imprisonment. Sensing the tug of fate, a powerful magus channels the last of his strength to send Eorzea’s heroes in to a temporal rift. There they wait, untouched by the flames of destruction, until they are needed again. Those heroes are you, and the hour of awakening is now. Come and witness…A Realm Reborn.

They confirmed the in-game items from this new CE will be available to people who bought the 1.0 CE right?

I'm waiting for that FREE upgrade since I bought the game the first time.

Unless the CE is absolutely brilliant.
Also are there time cards for FF14? Using the CC on that archaic website was a pain before.

So it's actually worth buying the collectors edition this time around. I still regret spending 70$+ on such a horrible collectors edition of just an empty book and some in-game stuff that becomes useless after the first few levels.

I think I already bought a CE version of this game. It came with a mug that could not hold water and a silk cloth world map that was of no use.

Still, stoked. Will buy, play for about two days, then dismiss.

release is locked-in for August 27, 2013!

This kind of worries me as Yoshi P said they wouldn't release 2.0 until the fans are happy. At the moment they have hardly listened to any of the fan feedback and requests, Insisting that people should wait until phase 3 of beta. I hope it turns out ok for them and the fans.

Info for past purchasers and legacy accounts:

Players Who Own FFXIV Version 1.0
Players who own FFXIV version 1.0 will not need to purchase the PC version of FFXIV: ARR and will be able to download the FFXIV: ARR software for free.
* Details on downloading the FFXIV: ARR software will be provided at a later date.

Furthermore, users who have version 1.0 registration codes that have not yet been registered will be able to register them and play FFXIV: ARR on PC at the start of the service.

Players Who Own the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector’s Edition
Players who own the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector’s Edition will receive the FFXIV: ARR Collector’s Edition in-game bonus items (Helm of Light, Baby Behemoth Minion, Behemoth Barding, and Coeurl Mount) for free. The in-game bonus items will be delivered via Moogle Letter when FFXIV: ARR launches.

Players Who Have Fulfilled the Requirements of the Legacy Campaign

Important Information for Customers Purchasing the PlayStation 3 Version
You will only be able to register one copy of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn for PlayStation 3 to a Sony Entertainment Network account. It is not possible to register or play two or more copies of the PS3 version on the same account even if you purchase additional software. Please note that only one Sony Entertainment Network account can be linked to a Square Enix Account.

Logging into the Same Account on both Windows and PlayStation 3
Customers who own a copy of FFXIV version 1.0 and wish to use their account on the PlayStation 3 version will need to purchase a copy of the PlayStation 3 version. It will then be possible to use your characters on either platform by tying your existing service account to the PlayStation 3 version upon launching it for the first time. However, please note that your account will only be able to log into one platform at a time.

Collector's Edition Digital Upgrade Service
The Collector's Edition digital upgrade offers customers the ability to upgrade their standard FFXIV account to Collector's Edition status via the “FFXIV Service Center” website that is scheduled to be opened at the launch of official service, which then grants the in-game bonus items included with the Collector's Edition. Customers in possession of the Collector's Edition for either version 1.0 or A Realm Reborn will receive these Collector's Edition items without needing to purchase the upgrade.
* Characters that have already been created will be able to receive the items.

I would actually get this, my only issue is if they release a PS4 version will my account be transferable to the PS4, or will I lose everything? Hopefully information on that come E3. Really interested in finding out if they were able to resurrect this since many of the screens look pretty great to me.

That CE looks really nice.

Release date is not surprising considering how the last two phases are scheduled.

Not available for the 360? SE going exclusive again? This looks awesome, though I'm not sure whether I will look at it for PS3 or PC yet

Um I bought the 1.0 CE and now I wana buy this ..

The Pre-order stuff is nice, I suppose 1.0 players don't get that as well lol ?

Considering I already bought the damn CE of this game, i'm assuming i only have to pay the monthly fee.

Edit: Ok, i get everything included in the new CE. AWESOME! <3

This also means our onion helms and running shoes are now that much more rare!

It's about time that more MMOs came with security keys inside collector's editions. SWTOR did it last time and I can't remember if there was another that did.

Fine, I will bite the bullet on this. I really do feel like an abused step child at times for SE. I just have such great memories of FF 11 and want the best for this game, we will see.

edit: wonder how long before this up on Amazon, don't really trust preordering through Square-Enix's store.

PC CE owners get the PC/PS3 CE goodies? I'm ok with this. Don't need the physical goods from the new CE, just the bonuses~

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I might buy it.

The only thing that worries me, though, is that the PS3 framerate in those tour videos looks like dogshit. I'd play it on a PC if I had one.
