Hasn't she only said that 2 or 3 times? I guess that makes it a catch phrase but it isn't overused or anything.
Are you kidding me?
Even outside of the "you know nothing," her "Jon Snuuuuuuuu" get really old

Ok, 4 times (once last season, 3 this season) from what I've found on youTube.
As a book reader, I feel that book readers should be limited to talking about how hot the women [or men] are.
Because, among Dany, Melisandre, Ygritte, Missandei, Margaery, and Cersei, I am dying of this hotness. More hot people chat plz.
That girl on the Titan's Bastard's lap last episode was the hottest.
The girls torturing Theon were also hot.
Too bad they killed off Danys handmaidens, because they had some primo hotness amongst them.

Imagine Missandei, the handmaidens, and Dany all in the same room. What would Jorah do!?

I don't have a problem with your posts but this is pretty arrogant. There are non-book readers who have watched the extras and could answer that. We don't NEED you to do it. If anything, you have to be more careful to ensure you are only referencing the show extras and not the book.Sure there is. Not everyone of you has watched the extras which help a lot in understanding how the world operates. And you really don't want to go googling stuff like "what's the deal with the white trees with red leaves" because the internet is a dark place full of spoilers.
The show did a great job of implying that. I didn't need a book reader to explain to me that Selmy was one of the best. When he says that he could, even then, take down the men surrounding him and no one challenged that, I knew he meant it and everyone knew he could as well. See? I could figure that out on my own and I'm sure others could as well.Yeah, I read this thread because it's kind of neat seeing speculation from non-readers, and every so often I'll chime in with some short piece of background or explanation, i.e. the same way that someone watching the show might ask me "Hey what's the deal with X?", "Oh, X is so-and-so."
The world's history is just so rich that it's hard not to fill in some stuff that the show leaves out, and I'm not sure why some people would be put off by this instead of appreciating it to some degree. Light example: Barristan Selmy doesn't do much sword-fighting in the TV show so people aren't really up to speed on how good he is. More people expound on his skill in the books, and I don't think that knowledge hurts anything. Basically, when Selmy said he could cut down the Kingsguard single handed when Joffrey dismissed him, he meant it and they knew he meant it.
I'm not comparing how it plays out in the book differently from the show, just filling in something minor. Does filler like that really bother people?
Sometimes I think I'm the only one who doesn't mind Shae at all.
I haven't seen that at all in this thread.
Agreed, I'm not really enjoying Emilia Clark's acting at all (and no being a nude chick on TV doesn't cut it).Charles Dance is fucking fantastic. He's my favorite on the show.
Kit may not be great, but it's Kelly C who is find the most inconsistent. When she brings it, she can be great. Othertimes, she's painful.
Sean Bean was pretty great, too.![]()

Shaes a whore!
As a book reader, I think the non-reader policy should be enforced much harder here. there is absolutely nothing a book reader can contribute to this thread, and many have done some damage, intentional and not.
I don't think anyone likes Clark for her acting skills.

She's pretty good when she's given something meaty. See: freeing the Unsullied.
Well, they're free to do so. And personally, I check the show wiki before opening my mouth if I'm unsure. That's why I didn't post the Unsullied backstory in the thread, but offered it via PM although it didn't have any consequence to the story.
As for Ser Grandpa... there were some people doubting his abilities. It's great that you believed the show, but some didn't.
Shae the funny whore
The problem with something like expaining a cool thing selmy does in the book or whatever, is that you have no idea if there's going to be a later scene that may not be exactly what the book did but is meant to show the same thing, ie him kicking some ass. The show could be intentionally holding it back and wanting people to question why he's a big deal because they have a great scene planned. So I think its not a great idea for a book reader to run in and flat out explain a scene that happened differently in the book the moment the story passes that point on the show.
Ygrette is the worst character since Jon Snow.
I've only read the first book. I've never mentioned anything about them here. I just don't care that much, don't let it get to me and don't go on rants in a thread every single day about the same thing because its stressful and fruitless endeavour.Yeah we do, and it seems it still doesn't get through to the book readers... There is NO COMPARISON ALLOWED. It's a simple rule to follow. Not to mention people keep posting here without looking at the thread title.
Yes it's worth it, because it diminishes the shows or characters for us. We don't want you coming in here and telling us you didn't like this scene, or that in the books so and so is more sympathetic etc. If we want to ask book readers a specific question, we can go to their thread.
I'm sorry to a lot of you that have forgotten what it's like to get excited and speculate, or that you are tired of comparisons and just want to chat about the show, but you can chat with us here by following a simple rule. No book discussion. This means no spoilers, no comparisons, no sharing of info that is not possible to know for a tv watcher etc.

Well she really only does three looks: Smug, afraid, fake smiley. I mean given Dany's arc so far they seem to be enough, but just barely. Her accent and mannerisms sometimes drift into Padme Amidala territory.
Can a book-reader answer this for me?
Did Daenerys burn the witch alive to exchange her life for the birth of the dragons?
Sorry if that's a really obvious thing that I should know.
I feel the show wasn't clear on what hatched the dragons specifically.
not her best work? Did she somehow act her ass off in backdoor babes 27?
Holy shit. What happened to her? Can't be just a nose job.
Sometimes I think I'm the only one who doesn't mind Shae at all.
Littlefinger's acting sometimes annoys me, but I wonder how much of that is just stage direction and how the directors actually want him to be. To me he comes off way too much as a try-hard mustache twirler.
edit: littlefingers actor is a little over the top into snydley whiplash territory, but at least he's interesting. not GOOD but amusing to watch
Hey guys! This is actually my first ever post on NeoGaf.
I was looking for a place to discuss Game of Thrones without fear of book spoilers - and even though this thread hasn't been perfect, it seems to be a much safer place that the overwhelming majority of other online communities, and it's very active, so I thought it would be a great place to post. I've been lurking this thread for the last 3 weeks while I was awaiting my account to be activated!
I've seen all the episodes about 3 times (I know, I know...) and have seen the DVD extras. I'm not planning on starting the book series until the show is totally finished... so a few years down the road. I want to be surprised by all the twists and turns on screen, and worry that reading the books would take away from that.
Anyway...
What BIG events do you guys think we have in store for the last 2 episodes?
Do you think Robb's invasion of Casterly Rock, Joffrey/Margaery's Wedding, or the Wildlings invasion will make it into this season?
I'm thinking that we're going to have have a shocking twist or two before the season is over... I can't wait!

I'm not sure about a lot of things, but not many people have died. And I think somebodys gotta die. Like soon! That has to be the shocking twist.

White walker died![]()
Well, he was apparently the only white walker, so that is pretty big.
It's a joke, you see, because they reused the CG
Robb's going to Edmure's wedding in the next episode or two, probably. There's no way he'll get down to Casterly Rock unless they skipped some time. It takes a while for these people to get places. So that's certainly out for this season. I guess the wedding will be one of the last big events for Robb and co this season. Maybe he'll meet Arya, too? That could be an event in there.
Other than that we have the possible attack of the Wildlings. Whatever Jon Snow chooses to do there, that'll probably be the climax to his story this season. Dany will take Yunkai, so that'll probably kind of close out her season, too.
I wonder when Cersei and Loras's wedding will be. I kind of feel like they'd get that over with before Joffrey and Margaery. Seems like you'd want to save the big king and queen's wedding for last (both for story and for in-world reasons, I suppose).
So I guess the big beats now are Edmure's wedding and whether Robb gets an army or not, Dany attacking Yunkai, and whatever happens with the wildlings and Jon Snow up by the wall. So, maybe some battles, maybe some other intrigue. I'm pretty excited since the last two seasons have had pretty big last episodes what with Ned losing his head and the battle of Blackwater.
