I sat down and watched the first series of Luther the other day.

No. Similarities between House and Sherlock, sure. But that's because House is patterned after Sherlock Holmes.

Season 1 is phenomenal and sets the bar very high. Season 2 isn't as good as the first as a result but compared to most other shows out there it's still incredible tv.

The first episode is kind of meh. However, the end teaser with the Emiliana Torrini music compelled me to watch the rest (i love that ep1 end scene). Anyway.. the first season builds up to something completely awesome a few episodes in. The second season is still good but the shorter season length really gave me a "And thats it?" reaction when it was over.

i cannot wait for S3.

S1 is a lot better than s2 IMO...
Sherlock is a lot better than this though, and I'm guessing s3 Sherlock winter 2013 or 2014 since Benedict has a ton of projects, star trek, Hobbit 2, the julian assange wikileaks movie

What i love about the show is that it seems much higher budget than other Tv programs. I mean it's not stuck in rooms, buildings and houses. It's fucking all over London. You're in the city, feel it and see the life.
You're in genuine places, not set decorated endless bullshit that you see in most Tv from North America.

September 3rd is a Tuesday.... I wonder what night BBC will put this on. I guess they'll air it around the same date but waiting to see what ITV out at that time. September would mean the start of XFactor and other nonsense so would be folly to compete against that.
