2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Character models seem better from behind :P

I'm actually ridiculously excited for the new Call of Juarez, $15 budget title be damned. I loved Bound in Blood when I played it years ago.

I am a bit excited too, actually. That's why I'm playing through this game. That, and you can get some nifty screenshots out of it. Speaking of which, I didn't realize I was so far down the page there!

I don't know what it is, but I spent over 2 hours taking screenshots of GTA IV and couldn't get a single one I felt comfortable showing another person.

It's a difficult beast to tame, but others don't seem to share quite the same issues. I've seen plenty of great GTA modded shots over the last few weeks, including these above.

I uninstalled it defeatedly and decided to let other people work their magic. Just not for me, I guess. Or my mod/ENB selection was poor.

Should've told Steam to take uncompressed screenshots earlier (I don't have time or the system resources to be running FRAPS in the background. I'm already running Tomb Raider on medium settings). Took a couple of TR screenshots I'm thinking about hosting in this thread.

Very underrated game, not great but enjoyable

And there seems to have some issues apart from the insane bloom (you can lower it a bit) , for example self shadowing is not enabled by default plus some shadows on objects are missing if your not enable them though you get some flickering if you do.And i cannot seem to find a proper AA bit :(

Syndicate seems alright. What kind of freedom do you have as far as screenshotting goes? Does it have a free camera or way to fly around (if not, i could probably make one)?

It reminds me of Deus Ex theme! You basically have a "no clip" and "no hud" for the basics among other graphics cvars. The problem is that when you try to take a screenshot which includes large scenery (move the camera further away) most of the onscreen objects/buildings/other stuff disappears so you are kind of limited in the outdoor areas.
And lastly it's annoying having to put all the new cvars again in each level (cfg config doesn't seem to work) plus to change resolution cause you cannot read anything at 4k!

Looks like GTA modders have started to rip car models from Project Cars. I think the devs are aware of this and not very happy with the situation but I'm sure there's probably no way to stop it.

i was gonna say, that looks ridiculously good for a mod

closest thing im gonna get to playing pcars right now, i'll take it!

To get the draw distance of STALKER to go further than 5 feet in front of your face you have to apply a special fan-made patch.

I fixed it with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiS3fgqu0Po (Download link and directions are in the guy's video description). I found the '201' value to be the best in terms of performance to visuals.

Can this be used in conjuction with Complete 2009 and Photorealistic Zone 2? If so, I'm ready to give S.T.A.L.K.E.R another shot.

I like the border. It fits the theme and the story-telling. There should absolutely be an option to disable it, though.

It's not so obtrusive when downsampling from high resolutions that you can't simply crop it out of screenshots if it bothers you personally.

I hate this game's overlay\border with a passion.

With some tricks, I was able to get 5120x2880 via SRWE. Have to crop the overlay though, and cropping makes me feel icky inside. I like clean screenshots and this would be a nice game for it, but it's too much trouble.

Assuming that the border is always the same and as a result, you'd need to crop it the same every time, you could just set up a photoshop script to crop the border out of every image before you begin working on it.

Thought about that and if I only cared about screenshots, I'd probably do it. But it's so bloody distracting and I keep waiting for it to go away because it makes the screen feel all the more cramped.

Story-telling mechanic or not, there's no reason not to make that optional. I can't imagine anyone, given the choice, deciding "yeah, I actually want that on my screen."

Too many games to play, not enough time to play them, and when I do have time to play I can't think of a reason to not play PS2 :(

Plays perfect at this resolution and considering it's a port from the 3DS, the PC version looks pretty good IMO. They definitely put some work into it. Got that pesky map turned off but there's still some HUD :(

If you want to turn off the HUD/Crosshair for screenshots in STALKER, Complete 09 automatically binds the HUD Toggle to NumPad Minus.
