From what I can tell, the Official Prima guide for North America is one of those, translated. Clocking in at ~525 pages, and the images look like a pocket sized (LOL) book.

I was just thinking, this thread has a large amount of people over 20 and every time I street pass people, they seem to be adults as well. (Beards, etc. Plus I've met a few of them afterward). Why then, do people always believe Nintendo games/consoles are for kids? I think I've 'passed literally one kid the whole time I've owned a 3DS. I'm beginning to believe that Animal Crossing is an adult's game, wrapped in a candy coating.

Most children will never know the satisfaction of filling up one wing of the museum.

How does visiting towns work in this game?

Opening your gates and letting friends visit you directly (let the fruit stealing commence), or uploading your town to the Dream Suite. From there they can peruse your town at their leisure but can't manipulate it in anyway.

Uh... you pay off your house and then you upgrade it, its basically depend on how diligent you are with collecting a ton of stuff around and selling it for bells to pay Nook off. You don't get another house to go to. You're STUCK with you're started with.

I think one of the reasons I dislike time travel is that is cuts down on some of that collection time. Once I know that a certain bug can only be found during certain months, it continues to give me a reason to play the game, even if life has become crazy busy otherwise.

As a completionist though, having to wait for those can also be excruciating...

IIRC, it took 35k bells or around there for the first pay off... I forgot how much it cost to upgrade. o.o' I remember 100k at some point.

I wonder what the percentage the chance is for each of the tool items appearing each day. I would imagine the shovel and pole are weighted more heavily than the axe or slingshot. You would think the net would be up there too.
