How do you guys play 3DS for extended periods? I lie on bed on my stomach and rest my elbows on my pillow. God help me if they still don't hurt after about an hour. Epic elbow pains occurred for Spirit Tracks, Virtue's Last Reward (Vita) and more recently FE: Awakening. New Leaf is going to KILL them. Need to think of something...

I usually am sitting up playing it, so my elbows aren't resting on anything. My hands are just resting on my thighs. If I am lying down or something, I usually rest my forearms on something, be it a pillow or whatever.
I just lay in bed on my back. Lately I've been sitting up slightly (using the pillows to lean against) because...well, I've managed to make the 3DS/PSP fall on my face way too many times as I suddenly fall asleep...
Lay on your stomach with your elbows resting on pillows? I used to do that, and it kills after some time...

I'll sit in my wingback chair. Arms are perfect for holding it. I lay on my side sometimes, too. Even like you said, on my back with a pillow propping the 3DS up so I don't really have to hold it.
