Yoshida himself said they are waiting for a good time to reintroduce the game. I don't know for what platform, or when that time may be. It could be TGS?

They're either going to have to:
A) Release media for Knack, Killzone, Infamous, and Drive Club BEFORE E3 so it won't take up valuable time. Show gameplay videos, trailers, multiplayer details, etc.
OR
B) Hold a separate event for Vita and PS3.

I really doubt it will be isometric or anything like that. I'd imagine they will go for your basic Dark Souls crowd or something. We have no info tho so who knows.
They only have officially announced they are working on a new IP. Rumours about the IP have been around for a good while before the announcement tho and supposedly it is ARPG.
All we have are GG job listings for artists that are great for creating epic fantasy art. BTW I am still mourning that awesome fantasy concepts pics that were made in Crytek before 2010.

-Ueda said that they could show the game at any time but Sony has held back.
-Rumored to move to PS4 development 2 years ago.
The earliest they could have shown it would have been the PS4 reveal if that were the case, but I'm sure they want to re-drop this megaton on an event like E3.

Calling it: GG armor and weapon design is gonna set a high-water mark for the industry... I cannot wait to see this stuff.
If Versus and TLG both show up at E3 it'll be insane. I've given up on either of those games coming out until recently.

I'd say 50/50 at this point. All the talk stating it was moved to next gen and the fact we haven't seen the game for a long time and now new console in the spotlight at the big gaming convention.
E3 will be exciting this year that's for sure. Next gen spark!

Well, you can expect a new Final Fantasy for the PS4, at the very least.
Things which suggest it's Versus rebranded;
- A few 'insiders' explicitly stated the game has been moved to PS4, and is dropping the XIII branding. Verendus has a ban bet that it will be there, he also claims Sony has some involvement with the game.
- Nomura himself has said the game is still in development but it's reveal has been delayed for reasons outside of his control, which will become clear (a platform shift?)
- Versus XIII as we know it uses elements of the Luminous engine (for lighting I believe?) which next-gen software will also use.
- Agito XIII was another FNC title which dropped the branding to become 'Type 0' so it's not an unprecedented notion.
- Nomura in interviews detailed the ambitious nature of the game, discussing the changes in concept (world map changes etc) which implies the game was pushing the hardware since its inception.
- Roen, clothing designer for Versus XIII dropped the Versus name from their website (despite having finished the work for the game in 2008) and had only 'Final Fantasy 15'.
- The official 'Noctis' fragrance has dropped the Versus branding (and is now named 'Noctis Final Fantasy') and is incidentally due to release 2 days after E3.
And as mentioned, Hashimoto at PS Meeting said a new FF will be at E3.

Tone down your expectations brah! Just today they announced they plan to release "console style" games for cellphones.
And Nomura's team is busy with FFXV anyway....
If it's not at E3 I think it'll be at TGS. Sony likes to show off their European studios at Gamescom. Maybe we'll get a teaser or something at E3.

I bet Versus will suck as a game compared to Birth By Sleep. I hope I'm wrong tho. The 2011 trailer didn't look too hot but much could have changed.

Yeah it's pretty obvious what has happened to Versus at this point. I really hope it is a 2014 game, would make a great first year title.

I personally think we'll see both show at E3, along with a slew of new IP from SCE.
Sony knows they have to be aggressive at E3....it's where they will be showing the physical console for the first time, and as such, they will be laying the foundation for the vision of the platform for years to come. It's also the biggest gaming event of the year, and E3s with console transitions generally tend to be a very big deal for platform holders to show off their cards.
Sony doesn't want to pull a Nintendo with the Wii U.
Well they did unveil Puppeteer and rain at last year's Gamescom and Sony unveiled Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank All 4 One for Gamescom 2010. So it isn't a guarantee that they will only unveil their European games.

I'm starting to get convinced that Versus will be there, and with a name change, but I don't necessarily think it's been called XV or moved to PS4, and I'm 100% sure that the FF Hashimoto teased is brand new and made specifically for next gen with the Luminous Engine. Versus and another FF isn't a bad deal, no?

I might agree with you on that one. The way he talked about it didn't sound like Versus that has been worked for PS4 for years or something like that at all.

I don't see how it could be a brand new FF. They've had all their teams working on Lightning Returns, FFXIV A Realm Reborn and Versus XIII.
We already know there's no online requirement. And current talk says used games passes or DRM or whatever is up to developers - possibly been dropped.
